The City of Erie Fire Department is now accepting applications for new firefighters.
The application period is open from April 11 until April 27 with a testing date for those applicants slated for June 21.

Being able to work with people on some of their worst days and being able to provide them support is a very positive experience,' said Gregory Purchase, assistant chief of the Erie Fire Department.

(WHTM) — Two Pennsylvania lawmakers have reintroduced the Pennsylvania Fairness Act, which would prohibit discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace and housing. House Bill 300, introduced by State Representatives Jessica Benham (D-Allegheny) and Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia), aims to amend the PA Human Relations Act to include 'sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression' to the list of prohibited types of discrimination, according to PA House Democrats.
