Moment two panicking influencers scramble to get out of the water off Greek island after being chased by a wild boar as local shouts 'it's not safe in there'
While the TikTokers were enjoying the blue waters off the uninhabited Atokos island near Ithaca on a group trip, a wild boar also having fun in the sea picked up speed and began to swim towards them.
In a video uploaded to social media, the two digital content creators can be seen swimming quickly towards their friend in a boat after a local is heard shouting: 'You have to go out, it's not safe out here.'
'Oh my God, he's actually close to you!' another influencer calls out from the boat, alerting her friends to the narrowing distance between them and the animal, as the women speedily breaststroke to safety.
The pig looked 'cute from the distance,' one of the swimmers wrote in the caption to the video on TikTok.
'Getting chased by a pig in the middle of Greece hits different,' she wrote.
The rock island of Atokos, only four and a half square kilometres, is in the Ionian Sea off the coast of Acarnania.
The island can only be reached by boat and is famously home to a population of local pigs.
There is a mystery as to how the pigs first ended up on the remote and uninhabited island
There is a mystery as to how the pigs first ended up on the island. Some say sailors brought the four-legged creatures as a source of food before abandoning them.
Meanwhile, others claim the present population are descendants of swine that survived shipwrecks and subsequently made the island their permanent home.
There are several ways to enjoy the natural beauty of the remote island, including snorkeling through its crystal clear waters, sailing and hiking.
Greece is a popular holiday destination for Brits, and attracted over 30 million international tourists in 2024.
But holidaymakers travelling to the country this summer have been warned to brace themselves for extreme heat, as temperatures are expected to be higher than usual over the coming weeks.

'I visited enchanting waterfall in North Wales – and think it looks like Bali'
The summer holidays are here, and many of us will be choosing to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to relax on holiday surrounded by nature with some stunning views. While some lucky travellers may head further afield to catch a glimpse of paradise, shedding thousands of pounds on a flight to Bali, one secret spot much closer to home can leave you feeling like you're in the tropics. While North Wales may not have coconut trees and a warm sea, it is perhaps more known for its mountains, rugged coastlines, and swooping valleys. However, hidden on the edge of Snowdonia and just a short drive away from Bangor is the beautiful Ceunant Mawr Falls. Recently discovered by travel TikTokers, they couldn't believe more people hadn't heard of the tropical falls. In the video that gathered thousands of views, they said: "Did you know about this epic waterfall in Wales that looks like it's straight out of Bali? I honestly can't believe I've never heard of this before. "This is Ceunant Mawr Falls and is probably one of the best short walk waterfalls I've ever been to, and it's not because it looks like something straight out of the Jungle Book. "It literally takes minutes to get to from the car park and hardly anybody knows about it. Catch this on a warm day, and I promise you'll just forget what country you're actually in." The falls are a breathtaking sight and are so easily accessed by being just a few hundred meters away from Llanberis town centre. Hundreds of tourists spot them from further away from the viaduct on the Snowdon Railway, but there's nothing like being up and close with the crashing water. Online, many happy visitors have posted about their experience. One person leaving a five-star Google Review wrote: "Absolutely enchanting walk along the river to this triple waterfall. Only 10 minutes from Snowdonia Mountain railway and a good stop off for a dip if you've just got back from the Snowdon hike." Snowdonia Guide suggests a simple one and a half mile route around the falls to get the best views and stretch your legs. They suggest: "Commencing at the forecourt of the Snowdon Mountain Railway Station (parking is available opposite the station) in the centre of Llanberis, turn right, then take the first right turn." After that, they tell walkers to walk to the end of the road and take the public footpath to the left, which will be marked Ceunant Mawr Waterfall. Next, follow the footpath past the viaduct and uphill, where there is an impressive observation point. They add: "The impressive waterfall can be viewed from an observation point which is reached by crossing the mountain railway track through a turnstile-style gate positioned near the top of the hill."

Greek cops clash with Palestine supporters as Israeli ship docks
Pro-Palestine protesters have clashed with riot police in Rhodes while an Israeli cruise ship docked on the Greek Island. Scuffles broke out as protesters chanted 'Freedom for Palestine ' while police squads, armed with riot shields and helmets, pushed them back. The demonstration took place while the Israeli cruise ship, the Crown Iris, docked on the island. A number of protesters were arrested during the rally, while police were seen restraining others. The same ship, which was forced away from Syros last Tuesday after a furious pro-Palestine protest, had been carrying around 650 Israeli tourists and arrived in Rhodes without delay. 'We owe an apology to those friends of Greece who chose to spend their holidays here and were forcibly denied that right by some. 'This incident must neither harm our relations with [Israel] nor the love of Israeli tourists for Greece,' he said. While Greek police and port authorities had prepared for further protests on Monday, local businesses were opposed to the demonstration. Greece has become an increasingly popular destination for Israeli travellers and tourist bodies, as well as the mayor of Rhodes Alexandros Koliadis, welcomed them with traditional sweets from Rhodes. Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar had contacted his Greek counterpart, George Gerapetritis, over the Syros protests after more than 150 furiously demonstrated as the cruise ship attempted to disembark for a six-hour visit. Protesters carried Palestinian flags, chanted and held banners reading 'Stop the Genocide' and 'No a/c in hell' as they formed a line to prevent the Israeli passengers from arriving in Greece. Some passengers responded by waving Israeli flags and singing patriotic songs. 'Inside the ship, we feel safe, but the children are a little stressed,' one passenger told Israeli broadcaster Kan. 'The ship arrived at Syros, encountered a demonstration by pro-Palestinian supporters, and passengers were stuck on board without permission to disembark,' Mano Maritime later said. They later added: 'The management of Mano Maritime has decided in light of the situation in the city of Syros to now sail to another tourist destination.' A group called We Stay Active organised the protest. In a social media post they wrote 'residents and visitors to the island state that soldiers, settlers, and supporters of the war and the occupation of Palestine are unwanted on their island.' Following the protest, they added: 'We note that there have been numerous complaints from all over Greece about the provocative behaviour of Israeli tourists, who support genocide and who behave as if our places belong to them.
