Winner to hold July concert without Song Min-ho
Three-member show to be staged amid ongoing investigation into Song's alternative military service
Boy group Winner will be returning to the stage for its first concert in over three years, marking a highly anticipated comeback following the members' discharge from military service.
YG Entertainment confirmed Wednesday that the group is planning a July concert, its first since April 2022.
However, member Song Min-ho will not be participating in the show due to an ongoing investigation into his military service record. Song, who served as a social service agent, is currently under police investigation for allegedly failing to fulfill his duties during that time, which can be interpreted as a violation of the Military Service Act.
'Despite the circumstances, we decided to move forward with the concert out of respect for the fans who have been waiting for so long. The decision also reflects the members' strong desire to meet them,' said YG Entertainment in Wednesday's announcement. The performance will feature three members — Kang Seung-yoon, Kim Jin-woo and Lee Seung-hoon.
YG added that further details about the concert would be announced separately.
After debuting in 2014 with studio album "2014 S/S," Winner went on to release a string of hit songs including 'Really Really' and 'Empty.' Notably, Song Min-ho garnered acclaim beyond group activities after finishing as runner-up in Season 4 of Mnet's "Show Me the Money," which aired in 2015, and continued building a solo career with multiple albums. He also became a popular television personality, appearing on shows such as tvN's "New Journey to the West" and MBC's "Home Alone."
Song began his alternative military service in March 2023 at a community facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and was officially discharged in December 2024. However, allegations soon surfaced suggesting he had not been properly fulfilling his duties, and frequently failed to show up for work. Police then launched an investigation and have since booked Song for suspected violations of the Military Service Act.

Winner to tour Japan after 6 years
Winner is planning to tour Japan for the first time in six years, label YG Entertainment announced Monday. The group will go live twice in Kobe on Sept. 28 and hit the stage in Tokyo on Sept. 30 for its 'In Our Circle' tour. The upcoming shows will be an extension of its July concert in Seoul. BLACKPINK to make full-group comeback this year
Girl group BLACKPINK will return with a new song featuring all four members later this year, the head producer of the group's agency said Monday. "We'll soon be able to announce news about BLACKPINK's new song," Yang Hyun-suk, founder and executive producer of YG Entertainment, said in a video posted on the company's official blog. Yang did not provide a specific release date. The upcoming single will mark the group's first release in two years and eight months, following its second full-length album, "Born Pink," in September 2022. The only exception since then has been "The Girls," an original soundtrack for a video game. BLACKPINK is set to launch a new world tour, titled "Deadline," with shows in Goyang, just northwest of Seoul, on July 5 and 6. Yang also shared release plans for other YG artists. Rookie girl group Babymonster will drop a prerelease single, "Hot Sauce," on July 1, followed by a second single in September and an EP on Oct. 1. Describing "Hot Sauce" as a "highly addictive hip-hop song with a late 1980s feel," Yang said, "It's a gift we're releasing in hopes that you'll have a fun summer." He added that the company experimented with how Babymonster, whose average age is in the teens, would interpret a classic hip-hop genre from four decades ago and was pleased with the result. Boy group TREASURE will release a new EP on Sept. 1 and begin a new world tour in October. Yang said the company aims to support the group in releasing more than two albums annually. YG Entertainment also plans to introduce a new four-member girl group and a new boy group next year. Starting Wednesday, practice videos of the girl group members will be released one by one. "Currently, YG has two boy groups and two girl groups preparing for their debuts," Yang said. "I definitely want to launch one boy group next year."
