New expressways & airports have put UP on path to rapid eco growth in 8 yrs
2
Lucknow: The state, once associated with pothole-ridden roads, crumbling infrastructure and sluggish development, continues to rise as one of the fastest-growing states in the country.
Before 2017, the state suffered from a lack of political will and strategic planning.
However, a transformative shift began in 2017 under the leadership of chief minister Yogi Adityanath. With strong coordination between the centre and the state, the groundwork for an infrastructure revolution was laid. Before 2017, UP's image was marred by broken roads and stalled projects. The Lucknow-Agra expressway was incomplete, while ambitious projects like the Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and Ganga expressways were on the backburner.
Villages and small towns were poorly connected to major urban centres, hindering economic activity.
Currently, seven expressways are operational across the state, while 15 more are either under construction or proposed.
Upon completion of the Ganga expressway, UP alone will account for six out of every 10km of expressway network in the country. The roads are also linking previously neglected regions such as Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Terai.

Moreover, industrial clusters, MSME parks and agro-based industries are being developed along the expressway corridors, creating jobs and fuelling economic growth.
Also, UP now has 16 operational airports, including four international airports — Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar and Ayodhya. The Noida International Airport, currently under construction in Jewar, is set to become the largest in the country and is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
The network of Metro rail services has also expanded and spans across the state. From just Lucknow, two more cities, Kanpur and Agra, can now boast of Metro rail services.
The first rapid rail corridor has also been launched between Delhi and Meerut. Additionally, groundwork is underway for Metro networks in several other cities such as Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi and Bareilly. Simultaneously, development is progressing on inland waterways, including the Varanasi-Haldia.
In the Greater Noida-Jewar region alone, investments worth Rs 27,521 crore have flowed in, generating over 16,400 jobs between 2023 and 2025. Other major projects under development include the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park in Lucknow, Mega Food Park in Bareilly, Trans Ganga City in Unnao, Plastic Park in Gorakhpur, and the country's first freight village in Varanasi.
While 17 municipal corporations have been developed as smart cities, 757 projects have been either executed or are underway with a budget of Rs 10,300 crore under the Smart City Mission. In terms of road infrastructure, the last eight years have witnessed unprecedented progress.
On average, 11km of new roads and 9km of road widening have been accomplished every day. Over 32,000km of rural roads have been built, and more than 25,000km have been upgraded.

Reforms in last 11 years led to transparent, sensitive, citizen-centric governance: PM Modi
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that sweeping reforms introduced by his government over the past 11 years have transformed India's governance model into one that is transparent, sensitive, and citizen-centric. Citing the success of the JAM (Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile) trinity, Modi said that the initiative had plugged massive leakages in welfare schemes and prevented the theft of over Rs 4.30 lakh crore that was allegedly being siphoned off through 10 lakh fake beneficiaries under previous regimes. "Approximately 10 crore beneficiaries listed under various schemes such as the ration card, gas subsidy, and scholarships were found to be nonexistent. These individuals, who never actually existed, were being used by previous governments to funnel money to middlemen. However, these 10 crore fake names have now been removed from the list of beneficiaries by the incumbent government. According to an estimate, this cleanup has resulted in savings of over Rs 4.30 lakh crore, which would have otherwise gone into the wrong hands. Imagine theft of Rs 4.30 lakh crore. Now, this amount is being used for the development of this country," the prime minister said. PM Modi was speaking at an event at Kartavya Path after inaugurating Kartavya Bhavan (Common Central Secretariat Building) 3, the first of the 10 state-of-the-art Central government office complexes planned as part of the Central Vista redevelopment plan. These blocks will house offices of all ministries and associated departments, presently functioning from Shastri Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, Nirman Bhawan, North and South Blocks and other buildings located at different locations.

‘Political greed of mayor and MLA has ruined Mohali': SAD district chief slams Kulwant Singh & Mayor Sidhu
Shiromani Akali Dal's Mohali district president Parvinder Singh Sohana has launched a fierce attack on Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu and local MLA Kulwant Singh, blaming their 'political greed' for the decline of the city. Addressing a press conference Wednesday, Sohana alleged that 'both these leaders unite when it serves their interests, and at other times, they cross swords to fool the public'. He said that they have destroyed Mohali by prioritising their own political gains over public welfare. With the Municipal Corporation elections just months away, Sohana accused Mayor Sidhu of suddenly pretending to care about civic problems that he ignored for over four years. 'After four and a half years of corruption that financially ruined Mohali MC, the mayor now wants to act like a savior,' said Sohana, warning that residents will not fall for such tactics again. He questioned the Mayor's recent demand of Rs 600 crore from the government, asking, 'Where is the estimate for this? Where is it supposed to be spent? When was this discussed in any MC meeting?' Turning his criticism toward MLA Kulwant Singh, Sohana said the legislator has ignored the city's core issues. 'For the past one year and a half, garbage management has failed completely. People are falling sick, but the MLA is only busy with politics,' he stated. He also criticised Kulwant Singh's claim of using Samgoli village as a garbage dump. 'Will people not be living there? Is it right to dump our city's waste into someone else's backyard?' asked Sohana. On the issue of rainwater flooding, Sohana said both the Mayor and MLA were equally responsible. 'Every year, citizens suffer massive losses, but these two only play blame games while people become victims of their political rivalry.' He emphasised that the Shiromani Akali Dal government had earlier invested Rs 2,500 crore in developing Mohali's infrastructure, yet 'not even one-fifth of that has been brought in by the current Mayor and MLA, and whatever came wasn't spent properly'. Demanding accountability, Sohana said, 'Instead of troubling Mohali residents with their political enmity, these two leaders should either work sincerely for the betterment of the city or step down from their positions, owning up to their moral responsibility.'

BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) explodes 14% in a day, up 167% this month—will its massive Ethereum bet push the crypto stock past $50 next?
BitMine Immersion Technologies Inc. (NYSE American: BMNR) continued its recent momentum on Wednesday, closing up 13.45% at $37.78 , a gain of $4.48 in a single trading session. This move follows weeks of intense volatility driven by the company's aggressive Ethereum accumulation strategy and renewed retail and institutional interest in crypto-linked equities. The key catalyst behind BMNR's latest move is its continued commitment to Ethereum. Over the last month, BitMine raised $250 million in private funding to build up one of the largest ETH treasuries held by a public company. What is the size of BitMine's Ethereum treasury? BitMine has reportedly acquired over 833,000 ETH, which at current market prices (~$3,500 per ETH) values the company's Ethereum holdings at approximately $2.91 billion. This positions BMNR as one of the largest Ethereum-holding public companies, placing it in similar territory as corporate crypto-holders like MicroStrategy (Bitcoin) and Hive Digital (mixed assets). Live Events What are analysts and technical indicators saying about BMNR? While BMNR does not yet have coverage from major Wall Street analysts, some retail-focused platforms and chart analysts have made bullish short-term predictions based on momentum and treasury size. Technical indicators: Relative Strength Index (RSI) : Currently around 62 , indicating near overbought territory. MACD : Still in bullish crossover, suggesting positive momentum. 200-day moving average : ~$12.50 (far below current levels) Short interest : Elevated, but not extreme — potential for short squeezes remains. Forecast: Support zone : $31.70–$33.10 Resistance zone : $42.00–$45.00 3-month forecast range : $45 to $247 , depending on market volatility and ETH price 'BMNR is a speculative play, but if Ethereum continues to rise, a move toward $50 or even $75 in the next 4–6 weeks isn't off the table,' said one technical analyst on Reddit's r/stocks forum. How dependent is BMNR's stock on Ethereum price? Extremely. BMNR's value now closely tracks Ethereum price movements, given the massive ETH holdings on its balance sheet. If ETH rises to $4,000 , BMNR's treasury could exceed $3.3 billion , potentially pushing the stock above $50 . If ETH drops below $3,000 , the company's valuation could contract sharply — possibly returning the stock to the $20s . The correlation makes BMNR a high-risk proxy for Ethereum performance, especially attractive to traders wanting crypto exposure via equities. What do the financials and fundamentals say about BMNR? Despite its growing popularity, BitMine Immersion is still a pre-profit company . Based on public data from StockAnalysis, it reported just $5.45 million in revenue over the past 12 months and posted a net loss of about $6.5 million . Its EPS (earnings per share) stands at –$2.89, and it does not yet have a P/E ratio due to negative earnings. This makes BMNR a high-risk, high-reward stock driven more by sentiment, crypto market trends, and its strategic narrative than by strong fundamentals—at least for now. Still, the market cap hovers around $3.5–$4.3 billion, which is largely based on the value of its ETH holdings and future growth potential. What should investors expect next from BMNR? Short-Term Catalysts to Watch: Additional ETH purchases or staking rewards announcements Q2 earnings report (tentative: late August 2025) Any new partnership or institutional investment news Ethereum price volatility Risk Factors: BMNR is still a pre-profit company with $5.45M TTM revenue and –$6.5M net loss Massive volatility and past pump-and-dump behavior Lack of long-term operational track record or profitability Prediction: Could BMNR hit $50 soon? If Ethereum breaks $3,800–$4,000 and BMNR announces a staking revenue stream or expands its treasury, it's very possible the stock reclaims $50+ within the next 2–4 weeks. However, that would likely depend on: Continued risk-on sentiment in crypto Strong trading volumes staying consistent No dilution or negative earnings surprises A bearish ETH move could quickly send BMNR back to the $25–30 range. BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) is turning heads with its Ethereum-first strategy, rapidly growing market cap, and strong momentum. But this is not a fundamentals-led trade—it's a bet on ETH, sentiment, and smart positioning. For now, the stock has the attention of both Wall Street and crypto bulls alike. Whether that continues depends heavily on ETH's path—and how well BitMine plays its cards in the weeks ahead. FAQs: What is BitMine Immersion Technologies' (BMNR) latest stock move? BMNR jumped 14% in a day , driven by its Ethereum holdings strategy. Can BMNR stock hit $50 soon? If momentum and Ethereum prices rise, BMNR could test the $50 level shortly.
