UFC and Paramount seal historic $7.7 billion streaming deal for 7 years, moving away from ESPN
UFC lands an unprecedented seven-year, US$ 7.7 billion media rights deal with Paramount, boasting the largest agreement in mixed martial arts and sports streaming history. The seven-year media rights deal negotiated by UFC will see the fight promotion depart the pay-per-view arena and transition away from its previous agreement with ESPN, effective from 2026.
The deal provides Paramount immediate exclusivity on all UFC events, over 13 major numbered events and 30 weekly Fight Nights, primarily through Paramount+, along with some featured title fights simulcasting on CBS.
How the deal reshapes the UFC viewing experience
A new deal means that UFC fans will no longer need to cough up for additional premium PPV access for their biggest shows. All UFC content in the U.S., then, would be available through a Paramount+ subscription, but at no extra cost beyond the eventually expected standard Paramount+ subscription costs.
That is a huge change from the $500 million per year average under ESPN with a pay-per-view dependent model. UFC President Dana White called the deal a
"huge victory for fans and athletes"
and said it would lead to
"lower prices and wider availability."
What the deal means for Paramount's strategy and TKO's global ambitions
The deal also marks a bold bet on live sports as a subscriber magnet for Paramount, now run by Skydance. UFC is seen as a 'unicorn sports asset' by CEO David Ellison, which helped plug a big hole in summer programming and strengthen engagement on both linear (CBS) and streaming (Paramount+) platforms.

The annual average disbursement of about $1.1 billion over seven years highlights the level of capital commitments the company is making toward marquee content. But Paramount also secured rights to create original UFC content that would be on both the cable and streaming platforms, which could demonstrate various aspects of the brand and narrative beyond just live events.
The deal highlights an increasing emphasis on global media rights expansion for TKO Group Holdings, UFC's parent company.
TKO has shifted gears toward streaming partners that can deliver global scale and reach, and Paramount's infrastructure is certainly capable.
Paramount's strategic content shift, supported by Skydance's recent merger and UFC's renewed global streaming orientation, together signal a dramatic new era for MMA content delivery- one based on accessibility, integration, and expansive visibility.

India holds firm in US trade talks, eyes EU pact amid tariff tensions
In a key meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Secretary and the Commerce Secretary briefed members on India-US relations and ongoing trade negotiations, sources said on Monday Regarding the upcoming US delegation visit for trade negotiations, the government indicated there is no change in schedule.(REUTERS) The government outlined three categories under which the US has been imposing tariffs. The issues included Global Tariffs - measures applied to all countries, not just India, sector-specific tariffs - designed to attract certain industries to the US, such as automobiles, leather, and textiles and revenue-oriented tariffs - targeting sectors like agriculture and oil for revenue generation. Officials stressed that negotiations with the US are continuing, but India will not compromise in the agriculture and dairy sectors. The government is actively assessing the impact of tariffs in consultation with stakeholders, including exporters, and is exploring alternative trade partnerships. Talks on trade agreements with the EU are being expedited, and new agreements with other countries are also under consideration. On broader ties, the government noted that India-US relations remain strong beyond trade. Recent developments include resolutions passed at the UN Security Council and the QUAD on the Pahalgam attacks, the extradition of Tahawwur Rana from the US, and the designation of TRF as a terrorist organisation. There has been no India-US dialogue regarding Pakistan in the current trade discussions. Committee Chairperson Shashi Tharoor confirmed that around 50 questions were raised in the meeting. He reiterated that trade is only one dimension of the India-US partnership. On Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's nuclear threat remark, the government stated that such statements are unacceptable, especially when made from the soil of a friendly country. Regarding the upcoming US delegation visit for trade negotiations, the government indicated there is no change in schedule. On whether the nuclear threat issue would be raised with Washington, officials deferred to the Foreign Secretary but affirmed that such rhetoric is unwelcome. Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the government noted that if the war ends, 25 per cent of existing tariffs--imposed due to India's purchase of Russian oil--would be lifted. However, India remains focused on addressing the remaining 25 per cent tariff impact.

NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Could Target $45 Million Boston Celtics Forward to Support Luka Doncic and LeBron James
Luka Doncic and LeBron James (Image via Joe Murphy/ Getty Images) The Los Angeles Lakers strengthened their perimeter shooting in July by bringing in Jake LaRavia. However, with no major trade executed so far, the team might still be in the market for another consistent long-range threat. According to ESPN's Zach Kram, Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser could be a realistic target this summer. 'It likely will be easier for the Lakers to find shooters than quality two-way big men in the years to come,' Kram wrote last Wednesday. 'The current supply of shooting in the NBA is so great that the skill set is generally available for cheap. The Lakers probably could acquire players such as Grayson Allen (10th) and Sam Hauser (12th) in trades without too much fuss if they wanted. ' Why Sam Hauser Makes Sense for the Los Angeles Lakers Sam Hauser, 27, has established himself as one of the NBA's most reliable bench shooters. Achieving a three-point percentage above 40% in one season is difficult, but doing it for four straight years as a role player is a rare feat. Sam Hauser (Image via USA TODAY Sports) His most recent season was particularly impressive, finishing with a 41.6% shooting mark from beyond the arc. That level of efficiency, combined with his championship experience with the Celtics, makes him a prime candidate for a team like the Los Angeles Lakers , who are aiming to boost their outside scoring without compromising roster flexibility. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Walking Hurts? Why Gabe Vincent Could Be Involved • Salary alignment for trade purposes • Experience as a playoff-tested guard • Provides Boston with a backcourt depth option Such a move would give the Celtics added guard depth while giving the Lakers another high-level shooter to pair with their core stars. The Los Angeles Lakers' front office will have to decide whether Hauser's elite shooting and championship pedigree are worth parting with a rotational guard. While LaRavia 's arrival has improved spacing, the addition of a proven sharpshooter like Hauser could push Los Angeles into a new offensive tier. Fox Sports family bids tearful farewell to Jimmy Johnson after his surprise retirement at age 81 (Image Via Google) Jimmy Johnson has officially retired from the Fox Sports family on March 9, 2025, and it shocked all of us. The Hall of Fame football coach that led the Dallas Cowboys to Super Bowl excellence in the early 1990s stood up from the desk at Fox NFL Sunday after well over 30 years on the air. It hit home on a personal level, especially for Michael Strahan . In a matter of a few sentences, Jimmy Johnson left teammates, fans, and TV personalities asking, "How will we watch weekend football without Jimmy Johnson?" He was such a staple, and how could we even be on the set without his great opinions, loud laughter, and Texan charm? Michael Strahan and the Fox crew show deep emotion after Jimmy Johnson's exit On March 3, 2025, just after Jimmy Johnson revealed his decision, Michael Strahan, his longtime co-host wrote on social media: 'Congratulations on your retirement … You're truly one of a kind and thanks for being you and gifting me with one of the best friendships anyone could ever ask for.' This post came with a photo of the pair hugging, and it showed how much their friendship meant behind the scenes. Moments later, Erin Andrews shared a photo of the farewell party with Johnson, Strahan, and Charissa Thompson. Her caption said simply, 'Love our family.' These messages made clear that Jimmy Johnson's bond with the team went far beyond the studio, built over countless Sundays, road trips, and off-camera laughs.
