A video of Deepika Padukone defending herself against a sexist remark has gone viral amid the Spirit controversy.
Deepika Padukone is making headlines after it was reported that she was removed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film, Spirit, due to a clash of demands. Reports claimed that new mom Deepika wanted a high remuneration and an 8-hour workday. Amid this, an old clip of the actress has gone viral, in which she clarified that she uses her own money as a film producer and not Ranveer Singh's. However, what particularly drew everyone's attention was Tamannaah Bhatia's reaction.
The clip is from a press conference for Chhapaak in 2020. Deepika not only headlined the film but also produced it. Thus, when someone said that Ranveer Singh was also a producer by association since they are married, Deepika clarified, Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? Yeh meri khud ki mehnat hai."
The text on the video read, 'Propaganda she is not falling for: Disrespect, men, sexism, gender pay gap, working overtime, unprofessionalism, misogyny, and double standards." The throwback clip was posted two days ago on Instagram, and Tamannaah Bhatia reacted to it by 'liking' the post.
The video has gone viral amid reported tensions between Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. As per reports, Deepika Padukone was removed from the film as Sandeep Reddy Vanga couldn't match her demands, one of them being a remuneration upwards of Rs 20 crore. Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri has officially replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead in Spirit, starring Prabhas. New reports claim that Triptii Dimri's fee for the film is significantly less.
As per Telugu sites like Telugu 360, Triptii Dimri is charging Rs 4 crore for the film. While there is no official confirmation on the figures yet, these numbers are much lower than what Deepika Padukone reportedly wanted for Spirit. Triptii has previously collaborated with Vanga on the successful film Animal.
Although Deepika Padukone will not be seen with Prabhas in Spirit, she will reprise her role in the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. Deepika, who is a new mother, will begin the shoot soon. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Siddharth Nigam's mother reveals he was replaced by Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan in Azaad with Rasha Thadani: 'Both of them were star kids...'

Siddharth Nigam, an outsider in Bollywood, faced disappointment when he was replaced in the film *Azaad* by star kids Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani. Despite initial consideration and script narration, Nigam waited two years only to discover the film proceeded with the newcomers. While acknowledging the industry's realities, Nigam focused on moving forward after the emotional setback. In an industry where star power often outweighs merit, the struggles of outsiders continue to echo. Actor Siddharth Nigam's journey is the latest reminder. His mother has now revealed that Siddharth was originally in line to debut in Azaad—until he was replaced by star kids Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani . In conversation with Instant Bollywood, Siddharth's mother opened up about the challenges of being an outsider in the film industry, highlighting a personal experience with Azaad. She shared that Siddharth was initially considered for the film and even had the script narrated to him. However, after waiting for nearly two years, they discovered through a poster that the movie had been made—with Ajay Devgn 's nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani in the lead. She admitted it was a tough moment, especially as a mother, and felt the final casting decision may have been influenced by the star lineage of the newcomers. Siddharth also reflected on the situation, acknowledging the realities of the industry. Without placing blame, he shared that it's part of the business, and those involved likely had their own reasons for the decision. For him, it was more about the emotional toll—waiting with hope for a year, only to find out through the teaser that someone else had been cast. In the end, he said, it became a moment of quiet acceptance and simply moving on. The period action drama, directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, marked the debut of Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani, starring alongside Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty. Despite the high-profile cast and production, the film opened to mixed-to-negative reviews and failed to make a mark at the box office, earning just Rs 8 crore worldwide. Pankaj Tripathi opens up about long working hours amid Deepika-Vanga's Spirit row

Actor Pankaj Tripathi has joined the ongoing conversation in the film industry about maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This comes after the recent controversy involving Deepika Padukone and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film 'Spirit'.In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Pankaj Tripathi shared how he has also faced extremely long working hours in the past, sometimes 16 to 18 hours straight. "Kaam mein khiche jaa raha hai. 16 ghanta-18 ghanta ho gaya main laga hua hoon. Main bol bhi raha hoon, actor jaa chuka hai. Labour ruka hua hai. (The work hours are getting stretched. Whatever is left, we'll do tomorrow'),' he explained. Earlier, filmmaker Mani Ratnam also supported Deepika, saying her demands were 'not unreasonable' but necessary.
