Cobra Kai Star Alicia Hannah-Kim Accuses Martin Kove of Biting, Assaulting Her during Fan Convention

Cobra Kai star Alicia Hannah-Kim has accused actor Martin Kove of biting and assaulting her during Washington State Summer Con in Puyallup. The organizers of the fan convention reportedly kicked out the actor, 78, after his co-star accused him of assaulting her on Sunday (June 22). According to the media reports, Hannah-Kim informed a law enforcement officer on duty at the venue that the actor bit her arm during the event. The actress said she screamed out in pain, and her co-star began kissing her on the area.
An informational police report stated that the Cobra Kai star Hannah-Kim claimed that her co-star attacked her when she stopped by the VIP area to say hi to the actor. He attacked her when she tapped him on the shoulder as a gesture to greet him at their cast booth. The actress claimed that her husband, Sebastian Roche, witnessed the attack. When the couple confronted the actor, he insisted that he did nothing wrong.
"I walked past Martin Kove, tapped him on the shoulder, and said hello & he turned around, grabbed my arm, and BIT DOWN HARD, almost drawing blood. I yelped and drew back, and then he grabbed my arm again to kiss it. I had visible teeth marks and immediate bruising and pain. We approached Martin in the green room later (30 minutes), and he was furious, outraged, and visibly angry when I told him calmly not to bite me. He insisted he bit me for fun," the actress explained in a handwritten statement to police.
The report further stated that Hannah-Kim found an on-site officer and informed him about the assault. The officer noticed "a bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising". When the officer questioned the actor, he admitted to biting his co-star and claimed that "he did it out of jest".
"He thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai, and he did not think it was a big deal," the report read.
The law enforcement officer then informed Kove that the assault was illegal and would not be tolerated in the future. The actor claimed that he was messing around and did not mean it to be perceived as unlawful. He was later escorted out of Summer Con. Although Hannah-Kim did not press charges against her co-star, she requested the report to be taken if this continues.
Kove joined Netflix's show Cobra Kai as Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) mentor in 2018, and Hannah-Kim starred in the series as Kim Da-Eun during seasons 5 and 6.

Apple seals movie deal with media mogul Peter Chernin

[LOS ANGELES] Apple has signed a deal to release new movies from North Road, the entertainment studio led by media mogul Peter Chernin, indicating the technology giant's growing ambitions in Hollywood. The agreement will give Apple first crack at new projects being developed by Chernin, whose company has been aligned with Netflix for the last five years. North Road's Chernin Entertainment can still produce films it's already developing for other studios and has two movies that will soon come out on Netflix: Apex, an action thriller starring Charlize Theron, and 11817, a horror project starring Wagner Moura and Greta Lee. 'We have had a great experience working with Apple on the series side, where they've been smart, daring, and always supportive – we're excited to build on that success by making movies together,' said Chernin, who has already produced TV shows See and Truth Be Told for Apple. Their next collaboration, the TV series Chief of War starring Jason Momoa, debuts in August. Apple, a relative newcomer in Hollywood, has been building out its film business to bolster its Apple TV+ streaming service. While the tech giant has released a handful of hit original TV shows, including Ted Lasso and Severance, it has yet to replicate that success on the feature film side. It will release one of its most ambitious films yet, F1 starring Brad Pitt, on Jun 27. Chernin is one of the most respected figures in the media world as an investor and producer. He spent years as an executive working with Rupert Murdoch at News and Fox before setting up his own company. His investment firm, the Chernin Group, has taken stakes in companies such as Barstool Sports and the anime streaming service Crunchyroll, while his entertainment company produces films and TV shows. Chernin folded all his entertainment assets, including the production outfit behind the hit reality TV shows Love is Blind and The Ultimatum, into North Road. The company is producing several dozen projects this year – a mix of documentaries, feature films, reality shows and scripted series. Chernin started off producing many films and TV shows for Fox, including Ford v Ferrari, recent instalments of the Planet of the Apes franchise and the sitcom New Girl. In 2020, Chernin signed a deal to make movies for Netflix, producing the Fear Street franchise as well as Back in Action, a comedy starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. Yet as that agreement came to a close, Chernin shopped for a new home. Netflix has scaled back the number of movies it plans to make, though it still churns out more than almost anyone in Hollywood, while Apple is ramping up. The iPhone maker has released a few features this year, including an action movie called The Gorge and the heist film Fountain of Youth. Those titles were released directly onto the streaming service Apple TV+, while the Formula 1 movie will be released in movie theatres worldwide before appearing online. BLOOMBERG

Who Is Amanda Kempton? Virginia Woman Who Mowed Down Beloved Real Estate Agent Sara Burack Arrested After Manhunt

A 32-year-old Virginia woman was arrested on Friday in connection with a hit-and-run incident in the Hamptons that led to the death of a prominent real estate agent who appeared on the popular Netflix show "Million Dollar Beach House." Amanda Kempton was charged with fleeing the scene of a car crash in connection to the hit-and-run death of "Million Dollar Beach House" star Sara Burack, according to the Southampton Town Police Department. Burack, 40, a real estate agent and former reality TV star, was hit by a vehicle just before 3:00 a.m. on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, New York, and was killed immediately. Suspect Finally Arrested The prominent real estate agent, known for dealing in luxury properties, was found unconscious by police early Thursday on Montauk Highway near the Villa Paul restaurant, authorities said. It remains unclear what kind of vehicle hit Burack, leaving her at the roadside to die. Kempton was scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on the charges Saturday. The investigation at the scene was being conducted by detectives from the Southampton Town Police and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, according to local outlet Dan's Papers. Burack was featured on a Netflix reality series that showcased competitive real estate agents going head-to-head in the luxury market. "The competition is fierce — and the drama undeniable — as a group of young and hungry agents try to seal the deal on luxury listings in the Hamptons," according to the show's description on Netflix's website. Burack earlier worked as a real estate agent with Nest Seekers International, a firm specializing in high-end properties in Manhattan and the Hamptons, according to Newsday. Although she left the company over a year ago, she remained in contact, Geoff Gifkins, the Hamptons regional manager for Nest Seekers, told the outlet. "Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends," Gifkins said in a message. "Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends." Shocking Death Paulette Corsair, a real estate agent and longtime family friend, told Newsday that Burack will be remembered for her kindness and her efforts in raising funds for causes in New York City. "I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people," Corsair told Newsday. "She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family." Burack shared in an interview that her family owned a commercial construction and materials supply business, where she worked for several years before moving into the high-end luxury real estate industry. "I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent," she told Before to the show's release, Burack referred to "Million Dollar Beach House" as a glimpse into the extravagant lifestyles of the wealthy and those aiming for fame in the upscale seaside enclave. "Viewers will be taken into the world of the Hamptons where they will see not only beautiful multimillion-dollar beach homes and estates, but will be shown summer in the Hamptons," she told "With scenes from broker open houses, polo games, yacht life and more, there is sure to be an awww from viewers!"
