Winona Ryder cuts her own hair
The Beetlejuice star was known for her quirky pixie cuts after shooting to fame in the 1980s, but Winona is adamant she didn't spend a lot of money on her hair - revealing she likes to take scissors to it herself because she has perfected her technique over the years.
Winona told Ella magazine: "Honestly, I always loved having short hair. One thing is, I have to cut it myself ...
"[I turn my head] upside down and you cut up."
The 53-year-old actress went on to talk about the ageing process and admitted some directors have encouraged her to get Botox.
She explained: "I always knew I looked young. But I also knew that when I started ageing, it was gonna happen fast ...
"They'll [directors] say: 'Just relax your forehead. Relax.' I'm trying to be a great actor, and they're saying that over and over. It's nice that people are talking about how it's OK to age, but there's still enormous pressure. Every role I get is for a mother, you know? My career has definitely shifted."
Winona previously opened up about her personal style revealing she's a big fan of casual clothing.
When asked about her fashion essentials, Winona insisted she only has five key items, telling Elle.com: "Everyone's different, but socks and underwear, a comfortable pair of jeans, a favourite T-shirt, and a soft sweater. But that's just me."
She also insisted she wasn't surprised to see 1990s fashion make a comeback, saying: "It's not my 90s style that's been revived! I certainly don't feel any ownership over it - that's just way too much responsibility. I guess it's just sort of inevitable in terms of fashion.
"Everything always comes back into style about 20-25 years later, right?"
The Stranger Things star also admitted she has a hard time letting go of her favourite items of clothing and she framed one of her T-shirts because she didn't have the heart to throw it away.
She told the publication: "I just had to retire an old Clash T-shirt from the first time I saw them in 1980 because it was so incredibly thin and just disintegrating. But I ended up framing it. I inherited my fathers 'archivist' gene, so it's really hard for me to let go of things."

Al Pacino once rejected Winona Ryder for being too young for him. The 85-year-old actor worked with the 53-year-old actress on the 2002 comedy Simone and while Winona believed she was 'actively in love with him' but he turned her down because of her age, only to go on to date someone younger than her. Tim Burton addresses Beetlejuice 3 reports
Tim Burton has insisted "nobody told him" about plans for Beetlejuice 3. The 66-year-old filmmaker - who directed the original 1988 comedy horror classic and its 2024 sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - has played down speculation that a third movie is definitely on the cards. Earlier this year, Warner Bros Pictures co-chairman/CEO Mike De Luca insisted development on Beetlejuice 3 was "imminent". Upon hearing this, Burton told The Hollywood Reporter: "Really? Nobody told me. Maybe I've been replaced." Jenna Ortega, who appeared in the second film last year, quipped: "Maybe I've been, too. Maybe [her character] Astrid dies and goes to heaven instead [of the films' Netherworld]. "They should just take Baby Beetlejuice on tour and send him to Hawaii." Burton pointed out that there was well over three decades between the first two films in the franchise - which stars Michael Keaton as the wisecracking ghoul - and joked "the odds are not good" for a follow-up any time soon. He said: "It took 35 years to make the second one, so by that time I'll be 105. I know those odds are not good. "I really, really enjoyed making this one, and [Warner Bros.] didn't even really want to do it. "We did it the same way I did the first one, with the actors doing improv. It was beautiful to see some of the old cast and have Jenna. "But it's like trying to re-create the Wednesday dance scene. I love the characters, but I don't necessarily see it." Burton also seemed to shrug off the idea of another director taking over the project, insisting he does feel an ownership over his projects. He added: "I feel very proprietary about everything I do, even if I don't own the characters. "When they did the [Beetlejuice Broadway musical], I got p*****." Meanwhile, Ortega noted she would "never" want to return to the Beetlejuice world without Burton steering the ship. She said: "Oh, I would never. I also think anybody would be really wrong to get behind that project. "Without him involved, what is it? It is what it is because of Tim. "There's no other film you can compare Beetlejuice to. So why would you do that? That would be a tad disrespectful." Back in April, Warner Bros executive De Luca claimed plans were moving along for sequels for both Minecraft and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. He told Deadline: "Imminently. The ink might not be dry on the deals yet, but imminently." De Luca insisted the studio was looking to capitalise on both film's success. He explained: "To have two franchises emerge from our leadership team with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Minecraft, I feel like we're ahead of schedule. "Now we're trying to step on the gas, to double, to quadruple that kind of success."
