'Only Murders in the Building' season 5 trailer has a new roster of glamorous suspects — here's the full list

Not many shows can mix laughs, suspense, and a star-studded cast quite like 'Only Murders in the Building.' Since it first hit screens, the comedy-mystery has hooked viewers with its clever humor, twisty whodunnit plots, and the chemistry between Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Now heading into its fifth season, it's clear the show has some serious staying power.
The Arconia is once again at the center of a chilling mystery. Season 4 concluded with the shocking discovery of the Arconia's beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), dead in the courtyard fountain.
In the newly released 'Only Murders in the Building' season 5 trailer, the story opens with our comedic trio at Lester's funeral, before cutting to the moment they receive the police report labeling his death as accidental. Unsatisfied with the official conclusion, they launch themselves into another investigation.
The investigation takes a darker turn as the trio finds themselves up against not just classic mob figures, but also influential billionaires who quickly become prime suspects. Things get even more complicated when Charles finds himself romantically involved with one of them.
With a decomposed finger showing up in the mail and the trio navigating the criminal underworld while still delivering their trademark humor, season 5 is clearly set to explore darker, more dangerous territory.
You can delve into the mystery too when 'Only Murders in the Building' season 5 premieres on September 9.
'Only Murders in the Building' season 5 introduces a dazzling array of new characters that Charles, Oliver, and Mabel can't help but investigate.

Renée Zellweger joins as Camila White, a powerful billionaire. Logan Lerman plays Jay Pflug, a tech mogul with a penchant for secrecy, while Christoph Waltz takes on the role of Bash Steed, a financier with an air of mystery.
It doesn't stop there. Keegan-Michael Key appears as a charismatic entrepreneur, and Beanie Feldstein portrays a young activist with possible ties to the city's underworld. Dianne Wiest is cast as a seasoned journalist with a nose for a story.
Téa Leoni is also returning for season 5. She previously appeared in the season 4 finale as Sofia Caccimelio, the wife of Nicky 'The Neck' Caccimelio, a missing person linked to the Caputo crime family. Sofia approached Charles, Oliver, and Mabel to investigate her husband's disappearance, and it seems like she might have a romantic storyline with Charles.
Back at the Arconia, familiar faces like Nathan Lane, Richard Kind, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph will return.
With such a mix of characters, season 5 looks like it could include plenty of new dynamics and interactions for fans to look forward to.
The synopsis for this season reads: 'After their beloved doorman, Lester, dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles, Oliver and Mabel refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond — where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters and the mysterious residents of the Arconia.
'The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them — one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.'
Season 5 premieres on September 9, 2025, with the first three episodes available on Hulu and Disney Plus, followed by new episodes weekly.

'Only Murders In The Building' S5 Trailer Just Dropped And It Hints At A Massive Plot Twist

Only Murders In The Building season five is set to premiere on September 9, yet luckily for fans of the show, a trailer for the upcoming fifth season was released on August 12. The two-and-a-half-minute sneak peak features the show's protagonists Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) as they pull up their sleeves to solve the mystery of the latest murder: the death of the building's doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca). The beloved doorman was killed off at the end of season four, and his death is thought to be connected to a prolific New York City mobster, who he was spotted with on the night of his death. As per Hulu's logline, the premise is as follows: 'After Lester dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond — where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia. The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them — one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.' Returning alongside the trio is Michael Cyril Creighton (Howard), Meryl Streep (Loretta), Richard Kind (Vince), Nathan Lane (Teddy), Téa Leoni (Sofia), and Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Detective Donna). Besides the usual familiar faces, new season is set to boast a number of newcomers including Logan Lerman, Bobby Cannavale, Beanie Feldstein, Jermaine Fowler, Keegan-Michael Key, Christoph Waltz, Dianne Wiest, Renée Zellweger, as seen in the trailer. Queen Camilla Has Allegedly Told King Charles to "Put a Stop" to William

A former royal photographer is spilling on what's going on behind the scenes with the royals, and he's alleged that Queen Camilla is NOT here for Prince William's antics. Ian Pelham Turner tells The Mirror that he believes Queen Camilla's "seeing William trying to create issues and she's told Charles to stop it." He added, "I think the reality is, it's been rumored for a while, that William has been trying to push—whatever—in the monarchy, at the moment, that he's the driving force behind the throne and I think, Charles should be." Prince William and his stepmom have a historically strained relationship, and last year royal expert Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that William merely "tolerates" Camilla, who has always been "a little afraid" of him. The author also said that Camilla "needed a gin and tonic" after her first time meeting William. Sounds rough, but a family friend also told the outlet that "William has warmed up to Camilla over time" and they have "a familial relationship these days." "There's a lot to overcome," they added. "William and Harry had always distrusted Camilla and felt resentment toward her because of their devotion to their mother. They never felt comfortable opening up to her in any real way. William and Harry's distrust grew when they found out Camilla was leaking stories to the press to make herself look better." The feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle apparently "brought them closer," as the friend notes that "William and Kate don't want any extra drama or tension in the family—they have enough of that with Meghan and Harry It was really Kate who warmed William to Camilla. She's never been dismissive of Camilla and always treated her with kindness." Inside and outside Alien: Earth's huge sets.

Posted Aug 14, 2025 at 12:51 AM UTC Inside and outside Alien: Earth's huge sets. Charles already declared Alien: Earth 'one of this year's strongest new shows,' so I wasn't shocked by how much I liked its debut. I was surprised by the scale of its sets, and this featurette has more detail about how they managed that by filming outside in Bangkok.
