Gayle King, Lauren Sanchez hit back at Blue Origin flight backlash
The 'CBS Mornings' anchor hit back at the recent backlash surrounding the the historic space flight, which also included Katy Perry, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen and Kerianne Flynn.
'Anybody that's criticizing doesn't really understand what is happening here, King told People. 'We can all speak to the response we're getting from young women, from young girls, about what this represents.'
As for Sanchez, who is engaged to Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, she says criticism of the trip has her 'really fired up.'
'I would love to have them come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees that don't just work here but they put their heart and soul into this vehicle,' Sanchez said. 'They love their work and they love the mission and it's a big deal for them.'
The children's book author added, 'Trust me. Come with me. I'll show you what this is about, and it's really eye-opening.'
These comments follow actress Olivia Munn calling the flight 'gluttonous' earlier this month.
'I'm just saying this. I know this is probably not the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,' the actress said while co-hosting 'Today With Jenna and Friends.' 'What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?'
'I think it's a bit gluttonous.'
Munn also noted, 'I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it's so much money to go to space, and there's a lot of people who can't even afford eggs.'
Another Hollywood Olivia, Olivia Wilde, shared a similar sentiment in her Instagram stories, writing, 'Billion dollars bought some good memes I guess.'
The mission marked the first all-female space flight in 60 years.

Serena Williams Addresses Weight-Loss Medication Use
Serena Williams is speaking candidly about her struggle with weight and her decision to use weight-loss medication to "enhance everything" that she was already doing. The tennis star has been the topic of conversation recently due to the physical transformation she's been undergoing. Discussions escalated when Serena shared gym selfies on her Instagram in July, showing off chiseled abs, toned arms, and legs. Shocked by the change in her physical appearance, some people in the comments began accusing Serena of using Ozempic to help her achieve her new physique. Harsh reactions continued, the more the married mother of two continued to post, including with her most recent set of pictures, where users suggested this transformation was Serena's way of glorifying "European beauty standards." Responses like this flooded her comment section: Despite all of the criticism about her looks, Serena didn't publicly respond to any of it until now. During a recent interview with People, Serena revealed she's been taking a GLP-1 weight-loss medication, along with exercising to achieve her current form, and has since lost over 31 pounds. 'I feel great,' Serena told People. 'I feel really good and healthy. I feel light physically and light mentally.' She said her battle with her weight began after she gave birth to her first daughter, Alexis Olympia, in 2017, when her postpartum body arrived. 'I never was able to get to the weight I needed to be, no matter what I did, no matter how much I trained. It was crazy because I'd never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard, ate so healthy, and could never get down to where I needed to be at.' 'I had never taken shortcuts in my career and always worked really hard. I know what it takes to be the best,' the 23-time Grand Slam champion said. 'So it was very frustrating to do all the same things and never be able to change that number on the scale or the way my body looked.' Serena added that after having her second daughter, Adira River, in 2023, she was able to lose a lot of weight quickly — two weeks to be exact — but she remained stagnant after that and was unable to "lose another pound." While the decorated Olympian has no problem maintaining a healthy lifestyle and workout regimen, she sought out help to lose the actual weight she couldn't seem to get rid of. For additional support, she began a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists) treatment. Although Serena kept the name of the drug she's been using private, some popular brands include Ozempic and Mounjaro. 'I did a lot of research on it. I was like, 'Is this a shortcut? What are the benefits? What are not the benefits?' I really wanted to dive into it before I just did it. They were super supportive, and it was easy to get the medication. I lost over 31 pounds using my GLP-1, and I was really excited about that weight loss.' Serena began the weekly injections of the drug six months after Adira was born and around the time she stopped breastfeeding in early 2024. Since taking the drug, Serena revealed she's never felt better. 'I just can do more," Serena added. "I'm more active. My joints don't hurt as much. I just feel like something as simple as just getting down is a lot easier for me. And I do it a lot faster. I feel like I have a lot of energy, and it's great. I just feel pretty good about it.' 'GLP-1 helped me enhance everything that I was already doing — eating healthy and working out, whether it was as a professional athlete at the top level of tennis or just going to the gym every day. So I think that it's important for everyone to hear my story. And I feel like there's a lot of people that can relate.' She said she's not trying to maintain a particular appearance, and believes there was nothing wrong with the size she was before. It just came down to what she actually wanted to look and feel like. 'I've never felt that pressure to maintain a certain appearance,' she admits. 'I always felt comfortable at any size, whether I was a lot heavier or not. I do feel like my body didn't like me at that weight. I had pain in my joints and pain in different areas just because of the extra weight that I'm not used to carrying since I had children.' 'But the size I was before, there was nothing wrong with it. It's just not what I wanted to have,' she continues. 'I just knew that I wanted to be where I personally felt comfortable.' Serena wants to continue to have conversations with her young daughters about body positivity and body image. 'With me going through what I've went through growing up in public and just having millions of people commenting on my body, it's really important to teach them to be confident at any size, just like I try to be. I was looking back at pictures, whether I was smaller or thicker, and at that moment I felt so confident. And I looked great, too. So I just think it's so important to love who you are. You'll never get that moment back. You don't want to judge yourself when you're just always showing up as your best.' You can learn more about Serena's weight-loss journey in her full People interview, as well as her collaborative video with the Ro healthcare company. Reactions to Serena's revelation, which she also discussed on the Today Show, have been pretty split: Well, I'm just happy she's feeling comfortable in her skin again!

Kylie Kelce Hilariously Explains the Difference Between 'Mom Showers' and 'Everything Showers'
The podcaster got candid about how showering looks different as a parent NEED TO KNOW Kylie Kelce is sharing her unfiltered thoughts about the reality of mom showers The mom of four hilariously defined the differences between a "mom shower" and an "everything shower" Kylie shares daughters Finn, Bennett, Elliotte and Wyatt with husband Jason Kelce Kylie Kelce is getting honest about the reality of mom showers. During an episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, released on Thursday, Aug. 21, the mom of four hilariously explained the difference between what a "mom shower" is versus an "everything shower." Kylie — who shares her daughters Finnley "Finn," 4 months, Bennett, 2, Elliotte, 4, and Wyatt, 5, with husband Jason Kelce — began by saying an everything shower is pretty self-explanatory. "It's when you actually get to shave your legs, exfoliate, maybe even moisturize after the shower," she explained. "Well, dream big. That's different from a mom shower because a mom shower is, honestly, pits and crotch, bare minimum. Pits, crotch, butt, bare minimum." "For anyone who isn't a parent, there are certain that you have to do sometimes to be able to shower," Kylie, 33, continued. "Now there have been times where it has been me home with specifically Wyatt and I were home a lot, just the two of us. And honestly, bringing her into the bathroom with the entire swing." The podcaster said that the swing was the only thing to get Wyatt to calm down and revealed that it was pretty large. "I would have to collapse it halfway to get it through the door of the bathroom. And then I would have to step over it to get into the shower," she explained. "I once brought the pack and play in the bathroom at the shore. And even if someone else is home in the house, at least one of them ends up in the bathroom if I'm showering." "And they'll stand outside and just yell to me the whole shower. I'm like, if we couldn't just have this conversation when I get out. And the minute I get out, guess what? No more interest. I actually don't want to talk to you anymore," Kylie joked. "It was either... yelling over the water or not at all. And now this conversation's over." Elsewhere in the episode, Kylie revealed that while her husband Jason, 37, is a retired NFL star for the Philadelphia Eagles and she's a field hockey coach, not all sports are supported in the Kelce household. 'It's funny now that we have four daughters and people will always say, 'What's the one sport you don't want them to participate in?' ' she said. 'Not once have I said cheerleading ... I'm going to piss off a whole community right now: It's swimming.' Defending her decision, Kylie explained, 'I have a reason. I don't wanna have to sit in a hot pool as the spectator and smell like chlorine when I leave, when I never f---ing touched the pool. That's it. That's literally it. That's the whole reason. It's not like I enjoy watching swimming.' Kylie also shared that she worked two swim meets in college, joking, 'I'm good. I've seen what I need to see.' Read the original article on People
