Brian Austin Green's ex Vanessa Marcil shares cryptic Machine Gun Kelly meme after 'toxic' jab

Daily Mail09-05-2025

Brian Austin Green's recent feud with his former partner Vanessa Marcil took a turn on Thursday when she posted a meme featuring his ex-wife Megan Fox's most recent partner.
Vanessa, 56, reposted a photoshopped fan-made image of Machine Gun Kelly, 35, to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, according to Us Weekly.
It's unclear if the photo was meant to be a message to her ex, but it came just days after Brian, 51, called their relationship 'toxic' on his Oldish podcast, which he hosts with his fiancée Sharna Burgess.
Vanessa appeared to have deleted the posts with MGK, as it was no longer in her stories despite reportedly being up for less than 24 hours.
The post featured a picture of the rapper-turned-rocker wearing a white-and-red baseball cap reading 'Holy' on the front and a white graphic T-shirt.
The photo was taken on June 9, 2024, and original depicted the musician at the NAHMIAS Menswear fashions how in LA. His original shirt read 'No gym allowed in drugs,' but the latest post had replaced the comic text with a new caption: 'Never bite the hand that'll slap the s*** out of you.'
It's unclear if the photo was meant to be a message to her ex, but it came just days after Brian, 51, called their relationship 'toxic' on his Oldish podcast, which he hosts with his fiancée Sharna Burgess; seen in December in Las Vegas
She also posted a photo of Machine Gun Kelly with the rapper and country music star Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie Xo, which had also disappeared as of Thursday evening.
Vanessa and Brian first began dating in 1999 after meeting on set of Beverly Hills, 90210 and became engaged in 2001. Their son Kassius, 23, was born the following year but the former couple split soon after.
The Las Vegas actress jumped to Instagram on Tuesday as she uploaded a brief exchange which appeared to hint that Green had forgotten about his son's graduation.
She had sent him a photo and he typed, 'When was that?' to which she replied, 'Yesterday was his graduation.'
The father-of-five then complimented her by adding, 'You did a really great job. He's an amazing person :).' Marcil simply responded with, 'Thank you.'
Earlier this week on Monday, Brian reflected on his relationships with both Megan Fox and Vanessa on a recent podcast episode.
Green and Marcil have been embroiled in co-parenting drama since their split and back in 2023, he made claims that the actress did not let him see their son Kassius at one point.
She also has alleged in 2018 that both Brian and then-wife Megan Fox had 'cut Kass out of their lives.' However, Vanessa later revealed that the Transformers actress apologized for her role in their family drama.
Vanessa previously shared a past text message exchange between the pair on Tuesday as she seemingly made a subtle dig at the actor; seen in 2017 in L.A.
The actor recalled how his mother had 'smothered him' while growing up, and how that affected his own relationships in the future.
'If I'm looking for a woman, I want the complete opposite of that. I had some major missteps because of that,' he told both Randy and Sharna.
'I mean, the relationship that I had with Vanessa was very toxic in that way. Like, it wasn't a loving, caring relationship.'
He added of his mother, 'To a fault sometimes, just everything was about me. And then with Vanessa, it was not that at all, but it was masked in this is a relationship where that absolutely exists.
'So you start thinking like, "'Oh, it's just kind of a new version. Like, oh, she loves me, but this is her way of loving me."'
Green explained that he initially believed Vanessa had being 'trying to help me' but just a couple years later, he didn't recognize himself.
'You're like, "Who am I at this point? There's not once piece of me that's left. My relationship with everyone around me has changed."'
Last year, Vanessa came to Megan's defense and shared that the beauty previously apologized for her involvement in their family drama.
In response to a fan on Instagram, Marcil penned at the time: 'She has apologized to both me and our child. She stated she is "disgusted" by her behavior. However, it wasn't her job to keep a grown man/biological parent in his son's life. That's on him.'
She added, 'It's true as you said that it's painful to watch #sharnaburgess try to gaslight her followers, however I do feel for her too.
'Only difference is that she's not a child like Megan was. She's being conned and would have to give up her whole 'fairy tale' in order to stand up for the truth at this point.'
The star then added of Burgess, 'But trust me, in her gut, she knows that she's being lied to. I feel for her and her beautiful son. We [don't] really matter anymore. The kids do. One day we will all be gone and these siblings will all be together.
'My son is the oldest and he knows the real truth. He will protect them. Their safety and peace are all he cares about. The truth will always prevail in the end.'
Marcil expressed, 'It's good to be on the right side of history and to know I gave up everything to protect my son and stand up to the truth.'
One year earlier in 2023, Green claimed that Vanessa had kept their son Kassius out of his life amid his health struggles with vertigo.
'Those years that he wasn't able to go see Kassius, Vanessa made no effort to make sure Brian got time with him,' Sharna alleged during a previous episode.

One year earlier in 2023, Green claimed that Vanessa had kept their son Kassius out of his life amid his health struggles with vertigo
'Instead, she painted him as an absent father who chose not to be around for him. And I'm sure that information was fed to Kass, and I can't imagine how damaging that was for him.'
Brian also claimed, 'To find out after the fact that at the point when I started getting better, that she then was painting it that I had abandoned Kass during that time, when the reality was I was dealing with such brain fog in what I was going through.'
He added, 'It would've meant so much if Vanessa had decided, "Hey, I'm going to make sure while you're going through this that your son can still get to your house and see you."
'That would've just made an incredible difference in the situation. But that's not what went down. That's not how it happened.'
Marcil has previously alleged that she raised Kassius all on her own. She also claimed that he had taken her to court for years and requested for child support — which Brian denied.
In the same Oldish episode in which Brian described his 'toxic' relationship with Vanessa, he also addressing allegations that he had 'groomed' his ex-wife Megan Fox.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star has been dogged by rumors for years that he took advantage of the 38-year-old actress because of her youth and their significant age gap, as she was only 18 when they began dating, while he was 30.
But on Monday, he opened up about the subject he has long held his tongue on during a chat with his fiancée Sharna Burgess on their podcast Oldish.

Sharna, 39, cued up Brian after he described his difficult relationship with his ex Vanessa, which prompted her to dig up text messages between herself and her ex in which she appeared to hint that he had forgotten their 23-year-old son Kassius' graduation.
Although Sharna knew that her fiancé denied having groomed his ex-wife, she asked him why he never tried to set the record straight.
According to actor, the influence of a family member led him to think defending himself would be a losing battle.
'I think it comes from my dad. He's very good at cutting emotion out of something and just being logical in his choices,' Brian explained.
'I really, logically understood that if I defend myself this one time, it's never gonna stop,' he said. 'I'm gonna have to defend myself for who knows how long, because people are gonna believe what they wanna believe. So, to me, time is the only thing that regulates that.
He explained that he hoped living a life relatively free of controversy would overwhelm the suspicions of people who didn't know him.
'People spend more time seeing me not being that way and then they start questioning it and they start going, you know, "We've seen him for five years. We've never once seen him being controlling or hearing any other story from anyone else about,"' he shared. 'It's the long game of it.'
Brian and his ex Megan began their relationship back in 2004, after they had worked together on the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith.

Month after announcing their split in 2020, Brian began dating the professional dancer Sharna Burgess. They welcomed a son together in 2022 and got engaged in September 2023; pictured in November in NYC
Megan joined the series in its second season to take over the role of one of the title characters' daughters, and Brian made a guest appearance on the show.
In a 2009 Elle profile, the Transformers actress suggested that she took the upper hand in initiating the relationship, as Brian was initially hesitant about dating.
'I had to convince him that I was slightly more responsible and well-spoken and had other things to bring to the table besides being 18,' she said.
The two had a tumultuous relationship, and though they got engaged two years later, they later split in February 2009.
But Brian and Megan announced in June 2010 that they had reunited and the engagement was back on, and they surprised their fans by tying the knot later that month in Hawaii.
The couple later welcomed three sons: Noah, 12; Bodhi, 11; and Journey, eight.
After welcoming their second son in 2014, Megan and Brian announced they had separated in August 2015, and Megan filed for divorce days later. However, the on–off couple reunited early the next year, and Megan later filed to dismiss her divorce suit in 2019.
Just over a year later, in May 2020, Brian revealed that he and Megan had again separated, seemingly for good.
Megan filed for divorce in November of that year, and it was finalized in October 2021.
Brian later moved on with Sharna in October 2020, and they welcomed a son together in June 2022, before getting engaged in September of the following year.
A month after her split from Brian was announced, Megan went public with her relationship with the rapper-turned-rocker Machine Gun Kelly.
The two got engaged in 2022 but called it off two years later. In March of this year, Megan gave birth to their first child together, a daughter, though they have not publicly revealed her name so far.

How groundbreaking gay author Edmund White paved the way for other writers

Andrew Sean Greer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist, remembers the first time he read Edmund White. It was the summer of 1989, he was beginning his second year at Brown University and he had just come out. Having learned that White would be teaching at Brown, he found a copy of White's celebrated coming-of-age novel, 'A Boy's Own Story.' 'I'd never read anything like it — nobody had — and what strikes me looking back is the lack of shame or self-hatred or misery that imbued so many other gay male works of fiction of that time,' says Greer, whose 'Less' won the Pulitzer for fiction in 2018. "I, of course, did not know then I was reading a truly important literary work. All I knew is I wanted to read more. ' Reading was all we had in those days — the private, unshared experience that could help you explore your private life," he said. "Ed invented so many of us." White, a pioneer of contemporary gay literature, died this week at age 85. He left behind such widely read works as 'A Boy's Own Story' and 'The Beautiful Room Is Empty' and a gift to countless younger writers: Validation of their lives, the discovery of themselves through the stories of others. Greer and other authors speak of White's work as more than just an influence, but as a rite of passage: "How a queer man might begin to question all of the deeply held, deeply religious, deeply American assumptions about desire, love, and sex — who is entitled to have it, how it must be had, what it looks like,' says Robert Jones Jr., whose novel above love between two enslaved men, ' The Prophets,' was a National Book Award finalist in 2021. Jones remembers being a teenager in the 1980s when he read 'A Boy's Own Story." He found the book at a store in a gay neighborhood in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, 'the safest place for a person to be openly queer in New York City,' he said. 'It was a scary time for me because all the news stories about queer men revolved around AIDS and dying, and how the disease was the Christian god's vengeance against the 'sin of homosexuality,'' Jones added. 'It was the first time that I had come across any literature that confirmed that queer men have a childhood; that my own desires were not, in fact, some aberration, but were natural; and that any suffering and loneliness I was experiencing wasn't divine retribution, but was the intention of a human-made bigotry that could be, if I had the courage and the community, confronted and perhaps defeated," he said. Starting in the 1970s, White published more than 25 books, including novels, memoirs, plays, biographies and 'The Joy of Gay Sex,' a response to the 1970s bestseller 'The Joy of Sex." He held the rare stature for a living author of having a prize named for him, the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction, as presented by the Publishing Triangle. 'White was very supportive of young writers, encouraging them to explore and expand new and individual visions,' said Carol Rosenfeld, chair of the Triangle. The award was 'one way of honoring that support.' Winners such the prize was founded, in 2006, have included 'The Prophets,' Myriam Gurba 's 'Dahlia Season' and Joe Okonkwo's 'Jazz Moon.' Earlier this year, the award was given to Jiaming Tang's ' Cinema Love,' a story of gay men in rural China. Tang remembered reading 'A Boy's Own Story' in his early 20s, and said that both the book and White were 'essential touchpoints in my gay coming-of-age.' 'He writes with intimate specificity and humor, and no other writer has captured the electric excitement and crushing loneliness that gay men experience as they come of age,' Tang said. "He's a towering figure. There'd be no gay literature in America without Edmund White.'

Why a Minneapolis neighborhood sharpens a giant pencil every year

Residents will gather Saturday in a scenic Minneapolis neighborhood for an annual ritual — the sharpening of a gigantic No. 2 pencil. The 20-foot-tall (6-meter-tall) pencil was sculpted out of a mammoth oak tree at the home of John and Amy Higgins. The beloved tree was damaged in a storm a few years ago when fierce winds twisted the crown off. Neighbors mourned. A couple even wept. But the Higginses saw it not so much as a loss, but as a chance to give the tree new life. The sharpening ceremony on their front lawn has evolved into a community spectacle that draws hundreds of people to the leafy neighborhood on Lake of the Isles, complete with music and pageantry. Some people dress as pencils or erasers. Two Swiss alphorn players will provide part of this year's entertainment. The hosts will commemorate a Minneapolis icon, the late music superstar Prince, by handing out purple pencils on what would have been his 67th birthday. In the wake of the storm, the Higginses knew they wanted to create a sculpture out of their tree. They envisioned a whimsical piece of pop art that people could recognize, but not a stereotypical chainsaw-carved, north-woods bear. Given the shape and circumference of the log, they came up with the idea of an oversized pencil standing tall in their yard. 'Why a pencil? Everybody uses a pencil,' Amy Higgins said. 'Everybody knows a pencil. You see it in school, you see it in people's work, or drawings, everything. So, it's just so accessible to everybody, I think, and can easily mean something, and everyone can make what they want of it.' So they enlisted wood sculptor Curtis Ingvoldstad to transform it into a replica of a classic Trusty brand No. 2 pencil. ' People interpret this however they want to. They should. They should come to this and find whatever they want out of it,' Ingvoldstad said. That's true even if their reaction is negative, he added. 'Whatever you want to bring, you know, it's you at the end of the day. And it's a good place. It's good to have pieces that do that for people." John Higgins said they wanted the celebration to pull the community together. 'We tell a story about the dull tip, and we're gonna get sharp,' he said. 'There's a renewal. We can write a new love letter, a thank you note. We can write a math problem, a to-do list. And that chance for renewal, that promise, people really seem to buy into and understand.' To keep the point pointy, they haul a giant, custom-made pencil sharpener up the scaffolding that's erected for the event. Like a real pencil, this one is ephemeral. Every year they sharpen it, it gets a bit shorter. They've taken anywhere from 3 to 10 inches (8 to 25 centimeters) off a year. They haven't decided how much to shave off this year. They're OK knowing that they could reduce it to a stub one day. The artist said they'll let time and life dictate its form — that's part of the magic. 'Like any ritual, you've got to sacrifice something," Ingvoldstad said. "So we're sacrificing part of the monumentality of the pencil, so that we can give that to the audience that comes, and say, 'This is our offering to you, and in goodwill to all the things that you've done this year.''

Action! Derrick Henry can parlay a 2,000-yard rushing season into a movie cameo with Adam Sandler

'King Henry' finally has the attention of 'The Waterboy.' Baltimore Ravens star running back Derrick Henry has an offer from Adam Sandler, his favorite actor, to be cast in a movie if the five-time Pro Bowl selection rushes for 2,000 yards this season. The offer grew out of Henry's appearance on radio personality Dan Patrick 's show this week to discuss his $30 million, two-year contract extension. Patrick told Henry he would get him in a Sandler movie if he made NFL history with a second 2,000-yard season. Two days later, Sandler made the offer himself in a video shown to Henry on the practice field. 'That's my dawg,' a wide-smiling Henry said while watching the video. Sandler, star of 'Happy Gilmore' and the remake of 'The Longest Yard' along with 'The Waterboy,' said he was in a hotel room while filming his greeting for Henry. At one point, Sandler turned the camera to show his bulldog. 'Two thousand yards-plus this year not only gets you in a movie, but we'll have a nice dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick's facial hair and how hard it is for him to grow it,' Sandler joked in a video posted Friday. 'I love ya and keep it up.' Sandler came up during Patrick's interview with Henry because Patrick was hearing a hoodie for the soon-to-be-released 'Happy Gilmore 2.' Sandler had given Patrick the hoodie. 'Can you do me a favor?' Henry asked Patrick. 'If you ever see him again, tell him I'm a really big fan and would really love to meet him one day.' Patrick left Sandler a voice message — and Sandler responded. 'Dan you're a real one!' Henry later wrote on social media. Henry rushed for 2,027 yards with Tennessee in 2020, when he was an All-Pro and the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year in the fifth of his eight seasons with the Titans. Henry nearly did it again as a 30-year-old in a resurgence with the Ravens last season, when he ran for 1,921 yards. Saquon Barkley of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles led the NFL with 2,005 yards. ___
