Married At First Sight's Jeff Gobbels announces shock career move - but it's not what you may think
It seems the Married At First Sight alumni are no longer content with fleeting fame and they're storming the podcasting world one mic at a time.
In a surprise twist no one saw coming, MAFS groom Jeff Gobbels has taken an unexpected pivot from honeymoon dramatics to basketball banter.
The popular TV star has joined forces with former NBL stars Pete Hooley and Tommy Sheridan to co-host Ausmerican Aces: NBA Show.
'It's funny, fast, and always on point,' Jeff, 40, told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday. 'We cut through the sh*t and say it how it is'.
Jeff, who was paired with Rhi Disljenkovic on the Channel Nine dating show earlier this year, is now talking MVP picks and defensive stats.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
'We discuss Coaches Mayhem, early predictions for the East and West, the MVP debate, and the Defensive Player of the Year race,' the trio shared on socials ahead of the show's third episode - which features none other than tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis in the guest chair.
The popular podcast is already proving a hit with fans and regularly sees the trio chat to popular athletes.
While some may scratch their heads at Jeff's new hustle, he's far from the only MAFS alum to throw their hat in the podcasting ring.
Carina Mirabile, who also appeared on MAFS in 2025, has just dropped the first episode of This Is Chaos, her chaotic-good foray into the world of audio content.
The fashion-forward firecracker is joined by her real-life bestie, celebrity hairstylist Jacob Muller, and the duo are wasting no time serving unfiltered takes on fashion, beauty, empowerment - and everything in between.
'Welcome to This Is Chaos, a brand new podcast with Married At First Sight's Carina Mirabile and her bestie… where fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and raw honesty collide!' the show's official description reads.
And that's not all.
Daily Mail Australia hears whispers that Adrian Araouzou, never one to shy away from controversy, is in talks to launch his own podcast - one that promises bombshells, shock guests, and possibly some former castmates.
Of course, all these MAFS mic-grabbers are chasing the heels of Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding, who set the standard with their hit show Sit With Us.
Launched in the wake of their star-making turns on MAFS in 2022, the pair's podcast soared up the charts thanks to their signature blend of sass, sisterhood and spilt tea.
Though the duo eventually parted ways personally and professionally - with Ella leaving the show - it marked a pivotal shift, proving that MAFS alumni can build genuine media careers off-screen.
More recently, Tahnee Cook has joined fan favourite Selina Chhaur in hosting Nova's successful Back to Reality podcast.
One thing's for sure - the MAFS class of seasons past aren't fading into obscurity.
They're popping up in your feeds, in your earbuds, and now, apparently, on the NBA beat.

Fans roast Indy Clinton for 'cringeworthy' display at Sydney meet-and-greet event
Indy Clinton has faced some not-so-subtle roasting following a meet-and-greet event in Sydney. The influencer, 27, who is the face of haircare label Bouf, was in the Castle Towers shopping centre in Castle Hill on Saturday to spruik the brand. However fans were quick to slam Indy after she shared a clip of the event to TikTok. The clip showed Indy dancing with abandon on a Bouf-themed stage to what appeared to be a smattering of Saturday shoppers. The mum-of-three looked very much in her element as she gleefully sashayed her way around the stage. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Dream come true, a dance performance to a crowd (who aren't my kids),' Indy captioned the clip. However, it wasn't a dream come true for many on the AussieTikTokSnark Reddit page with fans labelling the event as 'cringeworthy'. 'I'm having a good chuckle at the deliberate cropping of the line in her videos, don't think many showed up,' one user wrote. 'Also the dancing on the stage was so cringeworthy, kind of like what a teenager might do as a joke.' Another agreed, adding that they felt embarrassed for the influencer. 'Just saw her TikTok and nearly passed away from second-hand embarrassment,' they quipped. 'Barely anyone showed up lmfao, and the people that are watching look like they're just having a look because they were walking past while doing their shopping and stopped to see what was going on.' Yet another, who claimed to be at the event chimed in with: 'I walked past as I was shopping and it was dead.' It wasn't all negative however, with many fans praising Indy's display over on TikTok. 'We need Indy on a runway ASAP,' one swooned while another, who attended, added: 'You're an icon. Loved meeting you today. 'Such a huge moment,' a third said. 'Performing in front of a crowd must feel incredible.' It comes after Indy was called out for promoting the hair care brand while wearing wigs and hair extensions. She shared a video to Instagram giving fans a sneak peek inside her new campaign for Bouf Haircare. The clip featured Indy posing in a jumpsuit while wearing long hair extensions as well as in a short mini dress with a long blonde wig attached to her locks. Many flocked to the comments to slam Indy for promoting a hair growth product while wearing fake hair extensions. 'Don't get me wrong, this is cool, but also I'm not drawn to buying haircare when the model has fake hair/extensions. It's just hard to see how a product can be effective when we aren't shown real hair,' one person wrote. 'How do we know her fine hair wasn't caused by postpartum hair loss and the hair gain isn't just what happens when hormones settle after a baby and hair begins to grow back?' another asked. A third jumped in with: 'I mean this is fun but the choice of wigs and clip ins is not giving hair growth brand. There are so many hair growth serums out there lol. 'Didn't Indy used to plug Bondi Boost all the time?' Despite the backlash, others rushed to Indy's defence and praised her exciting new campaign. Bouf Haircare co-founder Rachael Wilde has posted a video to TikTok explaining why they decided to incorporate wigs in their campaign photo shoot. 'Indy documented an entire four months of using the product,' she began. 'The overall art direction, that we wanted to go with was to create this moment of juxtaposition. The woman in her chaotic everyday world and life at home feeling like an absolute superstar with this bold volume of her hair. 'An example is someone sitting on a pile of washing but we wanted to make it glam so we are showing a woman in her bold confident self with all this stuff going on in her life. 'We went with really big with the hair just to go overboard with expressing the polar opposites with these two things.'

Guess who! Aussie actor looks unrecognisable as he steps out for VERY famous pop star step-daughter's New York premiere
An Australian actor looked completely unrecognisable as he stepped out for a New York premiere for his very famous pop star step-daughter. The 55-year old looked worlds away from his trademark clean cut look as he was spotted arriving at New York's Beacon Hotel on Saturday. He recently tied the knot with the world-famous American pop star's mother, with their union making headlines at the time. Away from his romantic life, he also got his start on Australian screens with a brief stint as a policeman on long running soap Home And Away. After turns in such shows as Raw FM, Heartbreak High, and Water Rats, he headed stateside where he landed one of his best known roles in a top prison drama. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. He appeared in five seasons of the popular Fox series and picked up the international award for best actor for the role at the 2007 AACTA awards. But do you recognise who this Australian actor is? It's none other than Dominic Purcell, who stepped out to support step-daughter Miley Cyrus at the premiere of her visual album Something Beautiful on day three of the Tribeca Film Festival. Dominic's new look was a far cry from his Prison Break days, with the actor sporting a neatly trimmed salt and pepper beard. His trademark buzzcut had also been swapped for a neatly cropped 'do' that suited the actor to a tee. He cut quite the stylish figure in a dark grey Western-tinged jacket that featured leather embellishments on the collar, shoulders and pockets. He wore this over a black V-neck T-shirt that clung to his chiselled frame. Dominic finished his red carpet look with a pair of plain black jeans and a pair of very well-worn black leather boots. Dominic arrived with wife Tish Cyrus, 58, who cut a very stylish figure in a form-fitting sequined off-the-shoulder jumpsuit. Miley, meanwhile was the epitome of glamour, arriving in a dazzling gold gown with boyfriend Maxx Morando on her arm. Her strapless, embellished gown perfectly hugged her curves, with the star adding to the glam with her showstopping locks, which were styled in voluminous waves. The couple looked happier than ever as they held each other close while walking through the crowds. Dominic also recently posted a black and white snap of himself to Instagram. Fans branded the star as 'unrecognisable' as he was sporting a long, white beard and moustache. His new look appears to be more recent, as the actor was still clean-shaven at his 2023 wedding. Prison Break viewers were quick to rush to the comment section to discuss his drastic change in appearance. OMG! Santa Claus is in the house,' one fan joked. 'For a second, I didn't recognise you,' another commented, while a third wrote, 'Bro, you are unrecognisable.' 'He looks like a different man. Still [fire],'yet another shared. Dominic tied the knot with Tish Cyrus back in 2023, in a romantic ceremony following her divorce from her husband of 28 years Billy Ray. While some family members such as daughter Miley were present for the August wedding, Tish's kids Noah and Braison were absent from the nuptials - fuelling speculation of a rift at the time. According to a insider, Noah's absence at the wedding was not by choice, but the result of Tish failing to invite her. Us Weekly then published a report claiming Tish, had 'stolen' Dominic from Noah, 24, who was said to be 'seeing' the actor when her mother began to pursue him. 'Noah has always craved the attention because she did not get it growing up. Tish was always so Miley-sided because that is where the money was,' the source claimed. 'Miley and Tish are like sisters and Noah has always been envious of this because she's never had a connection with Tish like Miley has.' However, it was then claimed that Noah 'never dated' Dominic and she was accused by family insiders of 'fabricating' the relationship to 'paint herself as the victim' in her ongoing feud with Tish.
