Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt appreciates offseason workouts: 'Prepared me more'
During his voluntary OTA press conference, Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt expressed his excitement about the upcoming season and the opportunity to experience full offseason workouts.
"It's going to definitely help me get my body in shape (and) get used to hitting and grinding out those long, tough days in training camp," said Hunt, "That's what helps you get through the season."
Last season, Hunt led Kansas City in rushing with 728 yards and seven touchdowns. He didn't join the Chiefs until Week 4 last season after being signed due to Isiah Pacheco's injury.
"I'm definitely going to be able to come in guns blazing," said Hunt. "I'm excited that I get to get my legs underneath me and actually do football stuff and work drills and go against defensive guys and stuff like that so that just prepared me more instead of just coming (in), not being tackled or touched."
Hunt's full camp with Kansas City will be essential for the new season. He may not be the same player who earned All-Rookie and Pro Bowl honors in 2017, winning the rushing title with 1,327 yards, but he's an effective, experienced option in the backfield.

Why Taylor Swift Didn't Join Travis Kelce at Cannes Lions
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been enjoying traveling together during their time out of the spotlight, but this week, it seems they're flying solo. It doesn't appear the singer joined Kelce in Cannes, France, where the Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke with his brother, Jason, during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity yesterday. Swift wasn't spotted in the crowd watching the Kelce brothers talk about their podcast, New Heights, on the Amazon Port panel stage, and no photos have come out of her in France this week either. Kelce spoke at Cannes Lions last year, and Swift didn't attend then, even though she was in between U.K. Eras Tour shows. At the time, Caroline McCarthy, a marketing executive and former journalist, wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) that, despite rumors, 'most people involved in Cannes planning have known for weeks that Taylor Swift wouldn't be coming to #CannesLions2024. Travis was told explicitly not to bring her because the security needs would overwhelm the city.' The same security concerns exist this year, providing one potential reason for her absence. Additionally, a source told Us Weekly on June 4 that Swift and Kelce were trying to keep their relationship more private. 'They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention, but there isn't trouble in paradise,' the insider explained. Kelce and Swift have been seen out this month, however. The couple attended the fourth game of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final in Sunrise, Florida, on June 12. One day later, Swift visited Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, and told a patient she met there, 'My boyfriend is training here, so I just thought I'd come and see how you're doing.' Her remarks confirm People's report from the end of May that Swift was staying in Florida 'to support and spend time' with Kelce during his NFL offseason. Kelce will report to training camp in Kansas City, Missouri, later this summer, kicking off his preseason.

James Cook explains why he attended Bills minicamp despite contract holdout
The Buffalo Bills welcomed running back James Cook in Orchard Park for the first time in awhile this week. The Bills held mandatory minicamp the past few days and every player is required to attend. However, Cook has skipped out on voluntary workouts earlier this spring to send a message to the Bills: He wants a new contract. Advertisement That still hasn't come his way, but all along Buffalo's front office said when Cook was required to be there, they thought he would be. That held true with his appearance at One Bills Drive this week and general manager Brandon Beane downplayed the Cook situation. 'It's voluntary; we know that and we've had it before, even with players who weren't lobbying for a new contract,' Beane said at minicamp. 'Jimbo is a pro. He's a competitive dude; he loves to win, and of course he wants to take care of himself. From Cook's point of view, showing up came down to a simple answer. "I like my money, you know," Cook said with a smile. Advertisement The Pro Bowl added that being a good teammate factored in, too.
