IND vs ENG 5th Test: On-field drama peaks as Yashasvi Jaiswal clashes with Ben Duckett and earlier with Ollie Pope

Tensions are running high at The Oval as India intensifies their efforts to level the Test series, and the competitive spirit has started to flare on the field. On the morning of Day 4, Yashasvi Jaiswal was seen engaging in a verbal exchange with Ben Duckett , teasing him about toning down his usual aggressive batting style. Jaiswal reportedly said while fielding close-in, 'Come on, I want to see your shots. Play the sweep, reverse sweep. This is not your game.' Duckett didn't back down and fired back, 'Why should I listen to you?' Soon after, Shubman Gill also got involved, making it evident that the Indian side intended to maintain pressure with both their bowling attack and sledging. At stumps on Day 3, they were 50 for 1, having lost Zak Crawley to a pinpoint yorker from Mohammed Siraj on the last delivery of the day. Duckett, who resumed Day 4 on 34 not out, reached 55 before being removed by Prasidh Krishna. India's commanding position was anchored by another superb century from Jaiswal, who made 118, with crucial half-centuries coming from Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar. The visitors posted a total of 396 in their second innings, leaving England with a daunting task over the final two days—to either chase the total down or bat it out for a draw. Live Events Earlier in the day, just as the players headed in for the lunch break, tensions flared as Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope engaged in a heated exchange with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The moment unfolded after Crawley, who appeared to be limping in the final over—possibly attempting to run down the clock—provoked visible irritation from the England camp. Crawley, in particular, looked especially animated, continuing a pattern of verbal spats that began during the Third Test, where he and Shubman Gill had also exchanged words on the field. Cincinnati street brawl: Vivek Ramaswamy donates to attack victim 'Holly'; fundraiser tops $100K

Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has made a significant donation to a GiveSendGo fundraiser supporting a woman named Holly, who was assaulted during a violent mob attack in downtown Cincinnati. The incident, which went viral, showed Holly being punched while trying to help another victim during the chaotic street brawl. American commentator and YouTuber Benny Johnson shared a screenshot of Ramaswamy's donation, writing on X, "Wow. @VivekGRamaswamy just made an incredibly generous donation to Holly's GiveSendGo. Thank you to all who've shown up for her. 100% goes to Holly." The fundraiser has now surpassed $100,000 in donations. "We have now officially raised $100,000 for Holly in just one night. This is one of the most successful GiveSendGo campaigns in history," Johnson posted earlier. Ramaswamy had earlier condemned the attack and criticised the absence of police and emergency services. Earlier, in a post on X, he wrote, "It's unconscionable that there were no police present in that area of Cincinnati on a Friday night, or even an ambulance to take her to the hospital. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search Ads Get Info Undo Hard-working Americans shouldn't have to worry for their safety when they have a good time in our cities.' He added that Holly, a single working mother, told him no public official aside from one detective had contacted her. "Leftists like to lecture about 'systemic injustice' while thugs turn our cities into war zones. I'm done with their excuses," Ramaswamy said. If elected in the coming year, Ramaswamy declared, "We're going to set an example for what that looks like in Ohio." The viral video of the incident shows a man being chased into the street, shoved to the ground, and beaten by a crowd. One individual body-slams him while others kick and stomp him. As the man tries to get up, a woman, later identified as Holly, rushes to help, only to be punched twice in the face. She collapses to the pavement, hitting her head and bleeding from the mouth as the crowd continues to cheer. The clip has sparked outrage and renewed calls for better safety and policing in urban areas.

Nippon India MF sets foot in Leh to deepen financial inclusion; eyes expansion in border regions

In a bid to deepen financial inclusion , Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd has opened a branch in Leh and is looking to expand its presence in border areas, its CEO Sundeep Sikka said. With this, Nippon Life India Asset Management (NAM India) -- promoted by Japan's Nippon Life Insurance Company -- becomes the only asset management company in the country to establish a physical presence in such a high-altitude region. Lulutox Undo Explaining the reason for opening the branch, Sikka said Ladakh, a Union Territory known for its breathtaking landscapes, has seen a surge in tourism and economic activity in recent years. However, the region's financial landscape remains relatively underdeveloped, with limited access to a diverse range of investment products. The average assets under management (AAUM) in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh stood at Rs 10,844 crore as of June 2025, accounting for less than 0.14 per cent of India's total mutual fund assets. In contrast, India's overall mutual fund AAUM reached a staggering Rs 74.80 lakh crore during the same period. Live Events "With a presence in Leh, Ladakh, Nippon India Mutual Fund aims to bridge the financial literacy gap, develop a healthy mutual fund ecosystem and offer local residents the opportunity to participate in the Indian capital markets," Sikka said. The company plans to open more branches in India's border regions that often face limited access to formal financial services, the chief executive said. However, he did not specify a timeline for the rollout of additional branches. At present, Nippon India Mutual Fund is present in all districts and 97 per cent of PIN codes across India. When asked about the challenges of operating in such regions, Sikka pointed out that while many residents have a decent income, there is a clear lack of awareness about formal investment avenues. "People here are earning well, but often end up putting their money into unregulated or informal products due to limited financial literacy," he said. Highlighting the need for investor education as a top priority, he said the company's first objective is to build trust and understanding around mutual funds. "We are also exploring the launch of simple, easy-to-understand products tailored to the needs of first-time investors in these areas," he noted. About the company's future expansion strategy, Sikka said Nippon India Mutual Fund is focused on strengthening its digital infrastructure, noting that nearly 70 per cent of new investors are now coming through online channels. At the same time, the company remains committed to expanding its physical presence, recognising that on-ground branches play a key role in building trust. Additionally, he revealed plans to launch a Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) aimed at offering more targeted investment solutions.
