‘No one Needs This Season 2' set for October 23; Star-studded cast returns; Joanne and Noah's relationship takes a surprising turn
Season 2 release date and announcement
Fans won't have to wait much longer for the sequel.
Netflix
has officially announced that
Nobody Wants This Season 2
will be released on October 23, 2025. The news was announced by the show's lead cast at the FYSEE LA Emmy Event to make the date official for avid viewers.
What happened at the end of season 1?
Season 1 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Joanne broke up with Noah, realizing how much his faith means to him and his people. She refused to convert to Judaism, something that had a ripple effect throughout Noah's life. But Noah—played by Adam Brody—ran after Joanne and professed that he prefers her over his faith. This is the turning point in Season 2 that sets the tone for strong changes.
What to expect in season 2?
With Noah's decision to choose Joanne over his religion, there are significant changes on the way. If he remains with Joanne, he would probably have to resign from being head rabbi at his temple. Although he can continue adhering to his religion, his spiritual journey is bound to alter, impacting his career and personal life. Noah's disapproving mother, never a fan of Joanne, will be angry at his choice. His father and older brother, Sasha, however, might silently approve of him. Other women, such as Esther, Bina, and Noah's former girlfriend Rebecca, are likely to cause trouble, perhaps attempting to break up Noah and Joanne.

Noah's path for Season 2 will be a journey of
self-discovery
. Always faithful to his religion and function in the temple, the loss of that foundation might leave him grasping at finding a new sense of purpose. As the series pushes forward, money might not be a concern for Noah, but questions regarding his identity and path in life will undoubtedly ensue.
Joanne, on the other hand, will have her own rollercoaster ride. Though she might be pleased initially with Noah's choice, she might start thinking if she over influenced him. With time, she might worry that he sacrificed too much for their relationship. Season 2 will test their relationship to the limits, questioning whether they can handle the forces of change and external influences.
Confirmed cast and new additions
The principal cast will be reprising their roles for Season 2, including Kristen Bell as Joanne, Adam Brody as Noah, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Stephanie Faracy, Jackie Tohn, Michael Hitchcock, Stephen Tobolowsky, Sherry Cola, Emily Arlook, Shiloh Bearman, and D'Arcy Carden.
New characters
will come into the cast, introducing new energy and new plotlines. Leighton Meester will be Abby, Joanne's arch-nemesis, and Miles Fowler will be Lenny, a basketball buddy and Morgan's date. Both new characters will introduce new dynamics to the show.

Netflix ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha' cast; Pratik Gandhi and Anup Soni on Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Firstpost's Lachmi Deb Roy Netflix 'Saare Jahan Se Accha' cast¬ — Pratik Gandhi and Anup talk about the 8-hour shift. WATCH the full interview below Saare Jahan Se Accha tells the story of Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) agent Vishnu Shankar, who undertakes a perilous mission deep inside enemy territory: Pakistan. While inspired by real events, the series is a fictional drama and not a direct biopic of any specific individual or event. Set in the volatile 1970s, when a single move could tip the balance of power and trigger a global nuclear war, _Saare Jahan Se Accha_ unfolds as India's R&AW and Pakistan's ISI clash in a deadly game of strategy. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Talking about 8-hour work shift Pratik Gandhi mentioned that after sometime fatigue sets in. 'Our job is constantly demanding us to create emotions. When I am creating an emotion, my body doesn't understand that I am acting. I constantly do this for 6 to 7 hours. But after 8-hours it is extremely impossible to generate any magic. We try with all our possibilities, but it is tough. This is from the actors' point of view. With all logic, it is almost impossible to work for 12-hours. That applies for all industries.' Pratik believes that 8-hour shift can magically transform creative imagination. 'Even if we are working for 12-hours, the productive time is not more than 8 to 9-hours. Forget about actors, I am also talking on behalf of other departments especially the technicians, I totally feel for them.' Anup Soni adds to the conversation, 'Even if you give financial benefits to technicians, we need to understand that eventually it is your body. And body needs rest. Technicians are the people who are on their feet all the time. As an actor, you still get time to rest if your shot is not there. There are times when we are free for two-hours also in between. Some shots which doesn't require exhaustive performance, I generally do it when I am a little tired.' Pratik further added, 'It is not that we don't want to work for long hours. But even if I want to, it will show on my face that I am exhausted. There will be a swelling on my face or eyes. So, even if I want to, but beyond a point my body will not allow me to do that.' With budgets shrinking, says Pratik, 'I guess people are trying to achieve me in less amount of time.' WATCH the full interview below:

KPop Demon Hunters director Maggie Kang reveals animation secrets behind Netflix hit
Synopsis Canadian director Maggie Kang discusses the creative process behind KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix's internationally popular animated superhero movie. The film follows fictional K-pop girl group Huntr/x battling demons through song, combining Korean cultural heritage with breakthrough animation techniques that made it a global streaming sensation Director Maggie Kang discusses the animation techniques behind Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters, featuring fictional K-pop superhero group Huntr/x in this internationally acclaimed Sony Pictures Animation movie that became Netflix's second most popular English-language film KPop Demon Hunters became Netflix's second most popular English-language film while earning critical acclaim and Billboard chart success. The animated superhero film, co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, follows fictional K-pop girl group Huntr/x as they use musical powers to protect Earth from demonic threats. Director Maggie Kang employed unconventional methods during production, requiring her animation team to physically perform scenes as reference material. The Canadian filmmaker and her crew acted out sequences ranging from emotional fan reactions to comedic character read: K-Pop Demon Hunters: The animated film taking Netflix by storm with music and demons"As an animator, it's really important to feel the acting that you are going to portray," Kang tells Q guest host Gill Deacon. "Even when you draw, you want to feel the expressions."The animation process occasionally required Kang to demonstrate extreme facial expressions when her team struggled with particular scenes. "Sometimes the acting is not quite as I want it," she says. "So I will sit in the room and do the faces for them and act it out, so that we get what we need." Kang deliberately designed Huntr/x members to display realistic, unpolished behaviors. The fictional K-pop group members consume food messily, burp, and exhibit crude reactions throughout the Netflix animated movie."I've worked on a lot of films where, you know, female characters are not really the silliest ones," Kang explains. "There's, like, a fear to make [female characters] look ugly. And I really wanted to break all that and go for the silly faces."This approach contrasts with traditional animated superhero portrayals that typically avoid depicting female characters in unflattering situations. The Netflix hit incorporates extensive Korean cultural elements, particularly in its opening sequence showcasing generations of Korean musicians battling supernatural forces. Kang's Toronto upbringing combined with childhood summers in Seoul influenced the film's authentic cultural representation. "When I first came up with the idea, it felt like just purely a superhero film about Korean women and K-pop," Kang says. "Once we really grounded the mythology into Korean shamanism, it really opened up this opportunity to feature so many different eras of Korea, really show the history of how Korean music evolved through the ages."Kang, who appreciated Korean music before its mainstream acceptance, attributes part of the animated movie's success to K-pop's worldwide popularity growth. The film's soundtrack became the highest-charting soundtrack of 2025, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while the song "Golden" by Huntr/x hit No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200 charts. "I honestly didn't think it was even possible for a movie to be this popular, really.
