Delhi CM Rekha Gupta attacked during public hearing at her residence

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during a public meeting at her residence in Civil Lines Wednesday morning. A stone was hurled at her during the weekly meeting — a Jan Sunwai — which is an open house for public grievances. BJP sources said that Gupta was attacked by a man in his mid-thirties who has now been detained. Soon after senior officers from Delhi Police, including the police commissioner, arrived at her residence. Former Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi condemned the incident saying there's no place for violence in a democracy. 'The attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is extremely condemnable. In a democracy, there is space for disagreement and opposition, but there is no place for violence. I hope that the Delhi Police will take the strictest possible action against the culprits. I also hope that the Chief Minister is completely safe,' Atishi posted on X
