On 12th August 2025 (Tuesday), the singer's official social team, Taylor Nation, released a video from her upcoming appearance on Travis' podcast 'New Heights', which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. In the clip, Taylor unveiled her new album, 'The Life Of A Showgirl', to Jason, who cheered upon her announcement. Travis, sitting next to Taylor, also expressed his excitement, yelling out 'TS12!', referring to the singer's 12th album.
The announcement came after speculations that the singer is preparing to release a new album and 'enter a new era'. Adding fuel to the rumours was Taylor Nation posting 12 photos of the singer with the caption, 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…''. All images depict the star in orange outfits, which was later revealed to be the new album's theme colour. Additionally, a countdown leading to the announcement also appeared on Taylor's website.
'The Life Of A Showgirl' marks Taylor's first album since wrapping up her highly successful 'The Eras Tour' in December 2024. Her last album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', broke the Spotify record for most-streamed album in a day when it was released in April 2024. At the same time, the singer also revealed that she had bought the rights to her first six albums, ending the years-long battle over the ownership of her music.
While Taylor hasn't announced all details of the new album, including album artwork and release date, fans are already expressing excitement about the new project. Many have also begun pre-ordering the album after the presale was made available on Taylor's website. Some have even started theorising about the tracklist, speculating that it might include a feature with singer Sabrina Carpenter because of Taylor Nation's aforementioned 12-photo post.

The news came during Swift's appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by her NFL (National Football League) star boyfriend, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, who formerly played for the Philadelphia Eagles. Unveiling a copy of the new record, the singer said: "This is my new album, 'The Life Of A Showgirl'. "This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant," Swift said.
