AMMAN — On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Rania, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh on Saturday attended the opening of the 20th Women's International Hashemite Competition for Memorisation of the Holy Koran.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Khalayleh reiterated Jordan's longstanding dedication to promoting Quranic education and memorisation.
He highlighted the Kingdom's extensive network of Koranic centres across the country and its continued efforts in organising and participating in local and international Quran competitions.
Khalayleh noted that Her Majesty's sponsorship of the event reflects a deep commitment to empowering young Muslim women and strengthening their relationship with the Holy Koran, not only in terms of recitation, but as a comprehensive way of life guided by its principles.
He also underscored the importance of a sound understanding of the Koran as a foundation for ethical conduct, the promotion of justice, compassion, and tolerance, as well as the preservation of social harmony and national security.
Director of Women's Affairs at the Ministry Lamis Hazaymeh said that this year's competition brings together 44 participants from 40 Arab and Islamic countries, in addition to Jordan. She commended the ministry's sustained efforts in organising the annual competition over the past two decades.
Launched under Royal support in 1993, the competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious international Quran competitions of its kind. It includes national and international categories for both men and women, and has seen nearly 45,000 participants since its inception.

Ministry of Education: 7.4% of Children with Disabilities Integrated into Schools - Jordan News
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs, Nawwaf Al-Ajarmeh, confirmed on Thursday that the Ten-Year Inclusive Education Strategy (2020–2030) has successfully integrated 7.4% of school-aged children with disabilities into mainstream schools. اضافة اعلان Al-Ajarmeh added that the Ministry is committed to promoting social justice and safeguarding the right to education for all segments of society. He stated, 'The Ministry gives special attention to children with disabilities and works to integrate them into the educational process alongside their peers without disabilities.' Speaking at an inclusive education event organized by the Directorate of Education for the Deir Alla District under the title 'This Is Me,' dedicated to students with disabilities, Al-Ajarmeh noted that Jordan has made significant progress in educational inclusion. He pointed out that the strategy began with an inclusion rate of 1.7% and reached 7.4% by 2025, with the Ministry aiming to raise this figure to 10% by the year 2030. For his part, the Director of Education for the Deir Alla District, Mazhar Al-Rahameh, affirmed that this celebration coincides with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's observance of Flag Day and other national occasions. He noted that the 'This Is Me' event is a practical reflection of the Ministry's plans and strategies to achieve the targeted percentage of inclusion outlined in the 2030 strategy. The event featured a variety of performances and activities by students with disabilities, showcasing the principles of inclusion and diversity in education.

Minister of Education Inspects Schools in Amman - Jordan News
On Sunday, Minister of Education Dr. Azmi Mahafza participated in the morning assembly and flag-raising ceremony at Al-Hussein Secondary School for Boys, marking the beginning of his inspection tour of schools under the Directorate of Education for the Greater Amman Area. اضافة اعلان The tour aimed to closely assess the educational situation, identify needs, and find ways to address the challenges facing the educational process. It included visits to the following schools: Al-Hussein Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, Ya'qub Hashem Secondary School for Boys, Arjan Secondary School for Girls, Salah al-Din Secondary School for Boys, and Fatima Zahra Secondary School for Girls. During the visit, Dr. Mahafza, accompanied by the Directors of the Buildings and Projects Department, Engineer Issam Abu Ahmada, and the Supplies and Provision Department, Mohammad Al-Manasir, instructed the maintenance of the library at Al-Hussein Secondary School for Boys, including equipping it with cabinets, maintaining the theater, and constructing football, basketball, and volleyball courts, while ensuring that the maintenance work aligns with the school's historical character. He also instructed the necessary maintenance of Al-Hussein Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls, including cosmetic restoration of the old stonework and replacing the school's protective fencing. Additionally, he directed the Buildings Department to expedite the tender process for the maintenance of Ya'qub Hashem Secondary School for Boys, including resurfacing its playground with tartan, as well as the necessary maintenance for Salah al-Din Secondary School for Boys. Dr. Mahafza emphasized the Ministry's commitment to applying educational regulations, particularly regarding school discipline and attendance, noting that the Ministry will enforce rules on success, completion, and failure for students who exceed the allowed number of absences, in coordination with parents. He also monitored the progress of the vocational education program (BTEC) in vocational schools, ensuring the equipment provided by the Ministry is contributing to the program's success. He listened to feedback from both students and teachers, reaffirming the Ministry's efforts to meet the schools' needs according to priorities and available resources.
