The film, which was supposed to go on floors last year, went on to face multiple delays due to a variety of reasons.
Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3 is one of the most awaited films. As anticipation builds around the film, fans are eager for updates on every aspect. Recently, in an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Shankar Mahadevan talked about the film's music. He revealed that the music for the Ranveer Singh-led film has not yet begun.
Talking to Zoom, Shankar Mahadevan shared an update about the latest development on Don 3. He said, 'We haven't started the music setting yet. Hopefully, they (the makers) will be setting soon." He further spoke about his professional collaboration with Farhan Akhtar and his sister Zoya Akhtar. 'They have been an important part of my career graph. My first video, Breathless, was directed by Farhan and Zoya together. They did it together as a duo. And then, we did music for many of Zoya's films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Luck By Chance."
The film, which was supposed to go on floors last year, went on to face multiple delays due to a variety of reasons. One of them being Farhan kick-starting the shoot of 120 Bahadur. Keeping up with his commitment to the makers of the film, he wanted to wrap it up before taking Don 3 to the floors. But seems like the time for the shoot of the much-awaited film is almost here!
A well-placed source exclusively tells us, 'Farhan is nearing the end of 120 Bahadur. Ranveer has also finished shooting for a major portion of Dhurandar. And so, they wouldn't want to wait any longer before beginning filming for Don 3. The first schedule is scheduled for September this year. Both Ranveer and Vikrant Massey, who plays the antagonist, will be a part of it." However, it's still unclear if the female lead will be a part of this schedule.
But this also means that Vikrant will start shooting for Dostana 2 next year. Earlier, a source had told us that his schedule for Karan Johar's film is dependent on Don 3 and that if the latter doesn't start this year, then Vikrant would shoot for Dostana 2 in September. As for the female lead of Don 3, there's still some certainty, but it's Sharvari and Kriti Sanon who are in contention.
A while back, Farhan had stated that Don 3 is sure to go on floors this year. Interestingly, this film will also mark Ranveer and Vikrant's reunion after Dil Dhadakne Do. The duo had shared screen space in Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera in 2013 too.

Amitabh Bachchan's dance brought Saroj Khan back to Bollywood after she quit, moved abroad after marriage: ‘He said I can't dance, have two left feet'

Saroj Khan's life was nothing less than a tragic movie and while she eventually gained success in the movies as one of the best choreographers of her times, she went through a traumatic time before she achieved that feat. In a recent interview, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar spoke about a chapter of Saroj's life when she left everything in Bollywood behind and moved to the Middle East for her family. She had made peace with her regular life until she watched Amitabh Bachchan dance to 'Khaike Paan Banaras Wala' in the film Don. Farhan shared that it was watching Bachchan dance with glee and abandon that prompted her to come back to Mumbai and become a choreographer in Hindi movies. During an interaction on the YouTube channel Tried & Refused Productions, Farhan shared he did Nach Baliye with Saroj in the early 2000s and at the time, he was scripting the new version of Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan. Farhan recalled Saroj talking to him about his project and sharing her personal memory of the film. He said, 'Saroj ji told me, 'I got married and went to Middle East. I had left choreography.' She used to be a background dancer, then she became a choreographer and then she got married and she moved. She left India to stay in the Middle East and she was living there.' Farhan continued, 'Saroj ji told me, 'This film Don released in 1978 and I saw the song Khaike Paan Banaras Wala and I realised, this man, he is having such a great time dancing on this song. And I knew him, he always used to say I don't know how to dance. I have two left feet.' Don was actually the first film in which Amitabh Bachchan danced. All his previous films Zanjeer, Deewar, Trishul were him playing angry young man. She said, 'I saw that I became so happy. The joy of dancing and choreography came up in me again. So I decided to come back and started choreographing in Hindi films again.'' Farhan recalled that he initially struggled to bring the iconic song into his remake but eventually managed to do so. The director then asked Saroj Khan to choreograph the song in his film. 'For her, it was a life coming full circle moment and I think she did an outstanding job and Shah Rukh just let go and he had a blast,' he said. Saroj Khan passed away in July 2020 at 71.
