Realme teases a concept phone with a jaw-dropping battery capacity

Phone Arena06-05-2025

Realme has recently unveiled a new concept smartphone in its GT series, featuring an exceptionally large 10,000mAh battery. The company showcased this device through an unboxing video on its global social media channels, highlighting its focus on pushing battery technology limits for future products. This experimental phone, clearly part of Realme's performance-oriented GT lineup, has "10000mAh" prominently displayed on its packaging and a unique transparent back panel. The battery inside uses 10% silicon content, helping it achieve a high energy density of 887Wh/L. Despite this large battery, Realme has kept the phone relatively slim at about 8.5mm thick and weighing around 215 grams. It's important to note that Realme presents this as a concept to explore battery technology, not as a phone planned for mass production in the near future. A 10,000mAh battery is a significant step up from typical smartphone batteries. Realme's new concept phone aims to provide longer usage times, which would be a big benefit for people who use their phones heavily for activities like gaming, streaming, or work. While Realme hasn't released all the specifications for this GT concept phone, some key details about its battery and design have been shared: Battery Capacity: 10,000mAh
Battery Technology: Contains 10% silicon
Energy Density: 887Wh/L (This measures how much energy is stored in a given space; a higher number is better for keeping batteries compact.)
Approximate Thickness: 8.5mm
Approximate Weight: 215g
Current Status: Concept phone The use of 10% silicon in the battery is noteworthy. Silicon can hold more lithium ions than the graphite traditionally used in battery anodes (the negative terminal of a battery). This allows for increased battery capacity without making the battery itself much larger, which is key to fitting such a large power source into a manageable phone design.Realme's GT series phones are generally known for their strong performance, often appealing to gamers and demanding users. If a phone with GT-level performance also included a 10,000mAh battery, it would mean more than just a battery that lasts for several days on a single charge. It could also allow the phone to run at its top speed for longer periods during activities like intensive gaming or video editing, without the system slowing down to save power.
Although this is just a concept device for now, it provides an interesting look at how companies are trying to solve the common problem of limited smartphone battery life. It suggests that future phones might offer much better battery performance, bringing us closer to not having to worry about finding a charger so often. If only other current flagships followed that example.

Motorola Razr 2025/Razr 60 in for review

Say hello to the Motorola Razr 2025, the "entry-level" folding phone from Moto for the North American market that is known as Motorola Razr 60 elsewhere. But there's nothing entry-level about the way this one looks and feels. Shipping in four unique PANTONE colors with different finishes, the Razr 2025 costs $700 and is available in a single 8/256GB configuration. The box includes a USB cable. You get a choice of the PANTONE Gibraltar Sea with a nylon finish on the back, PANTONE Spring Bud and Parfait Pink with a leather finish, and our Lightest Sky, which has an acetate finish. It's a unique-feeling finish and has a bright, pearl-esque color that matches it nicely. A sort of pearlescent finish on the back Paired with the soft, rounded edges, the Razr 2025 is very pleasant in the hand and stands out, even in this least impressive color we have. For some time now, Motorola has understood that a phone is more than specs and features. Moto phones are among the prettiest around, especially in their clamshell folding lineup. Given that Motorola truly made the form factor fashionable back in the day, it's no surprise the company is leading the same revolution these days, too. On a similar note, the Razr 2025 is IP48 rated for some dust protection and full water protection. Motorola Razr 2025 Looks aside, the Razr 2025 is more than well-specced for its price. It has a 3.6-inch 90Hz cover AMOLED screen, a 4nm Dimensity 7400X SoC, and a dual camera system with a 50MP 25mm f/1.7 wide angle camera, and a 13MP ultrawide. There's also a 32MP selfie on the inside. Speaking of, the folding display is a plentiful 6.9-inch 120Hz LTPO panel. The phone feels snappy and responsive. It ships with Android 15 under Motorola's very stock Android experience. Capping things off, there's a 4,500mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging. That's around 200mAh less than the Razr 60 Ultra, but that phone tips the scales at 199g, whereas this Razr is a more manageable 188g.

Nothing confirms launch date for first over-ear headphones

A couple of days ago, Nothing outed the official announcement date for its first-ever flagship smartphone, the Phone (3), and today it's back doing the same for its first-ever pair of over-ear headphones - while also confirming the name: Nothing Headphone (1). These will in fact be unveiled alongside the Phone (3) at Nothing's special event taking place in London at 6 PM local time on July 1. That's 10 AM in Los Angeles, 1 PM in New York, 7 PM in Central Europe, and 10:30 PM in India. Previously, Nothing announced that it's partnered up with KEF to develop a bunch of new audio products, and then confirmed that it's working on its first pair of over-ear headphones - which was first rumored back in February. We assume the Headphone (1) will be co-branded with KEF, which is definitely a very interesting development. We can't wait to hear them, since the KEF name implies amazing sound quality. As for how much you're going to have to pay for that, Nothing's stayed mum on pricing so far, but a recent rumor claimed the Headphone (1) would go for $299 and would only be released in September.
