Dancing has taught me some life lessons, says Julianne Hough
The 37-year-old star - who joined Dancing with the Stars back in 2007 - believes her career has taught her the value of "resilience and tenacity".
Speaking to Us Weekly, Julianne explained: "There were definite life lessons along the way.
"[Learning] dance and technique and professionally are important, but [also we learned] the life lessons of resilience and tenacity and how to show up and add value, how to be connected to your uniqueness. All of those things shaped us, from our guides and our mentors."
Derek Hough, Julianne's brother, believes that his own dance career has helped to shape his character.
The TV star said: "My coaches, my mentors [and] a lot of the lessons that I've learned [from the dance studio made me] who I am today as a man, and as a person.
"[It was] from my teachers, you know, the way they taught me [and] the way they [acted] toward me."
Despite this, Derek previously admitted to putting lots of pressure on himself during his younger years.
The professional dancer confessed to suffering from self-doubts in the early days.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the show's host asked Derek: "You also have a lot of pressures to be perfect and to always win. How do you handle that?"
Derek replied: "At a very young age, I had this belief in myself, which was, 'Am I enough? Am I good enough?'
"Over time, in order to feel I am enough, I had to achieve something. In order for me to feel that I was worthy, I had to succeed, I had to win. Only then would I feel I was enough."
Derek struggled to find fulfilment during his younger years. However, he's learned some important lessons during the course of his career.
Derek - who is best known for his appearances on Dancing with the Stars - explained: "I didn't really realise at the time was it's not really about what we achieve in this life that really matters, it's who we become as a person along the way."

Harry Hamlin is celebrating one year of sobriety. The 73-year-old actor - who is married to reality TV star Lisa Rinna - has revealed that he hasn't drunk any alcohol since 2024. He reflected: "It is what it is. It's not that big a deal in my life, by the way. For a lot of people, stopping drinking is a huge deal. For me, it's something I'm happy about doing." Meanwhile, Harry previously revealed that respect and support have been key to his marriage to Lisa. He told Us Weekly: "If we could bottle and sell it, that would be good. I don't think anybody knows. It comes down to listening and being respectful and supportive. Lisa is Lisa, and that in and of itself is kind of a challenge, which is why I don't follow [her] on social media." Lisa also believes that they have complementary personalities. The 62-year-old star said: "In our case, opposites attract. And we're good at allowing the other person to be who they are and do what they want."

New York: It was a scene befitting of a millennial influencer: the fake heiress known as Anna Delvey posing outside a Tribeca subway station with two bunnies on leashes — and an ankle monitor on her tanned leg. But not long after, some bunnies that had been procured for the photo shoot with the would-be socialite were abandoned in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, unleashing a torrent of backlash towards the real Anna Sorokin, who in an interview with The New York Times on Monday said she was not responsible for procuring the rabbits and that she was 'horrified' when she learned that they had been ditched. 'I felt ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with it,' Sorokin, 34, said. Sorokin, who pretended to be a wealthy German heiress and landed in prison for nearly four years for swindling Manhattan's elite, spent 18 months behind bars in immigration detention for overstaying her visa. She has filled her time lately with photo shoots, publicity stunts and a stint on Dancing With the Stars. On August 3, Sorokin posted the photo shoot with the bunnies on a New York City footpath. The bunny cradled in Sorokin's arms was an 18-month-old Harlequin lop named Parker. But the next day, Terry Chao, a web specialist who blogs about vegan causes in her spare time, spotted Parker in Prospect Park, recognising the rabbit from a Facebook group where some bunnies had recently been listed as available for adoption. Parker had been hiding in bushes near the Endale Arch on August 4, not far from a cardboard box, said Chao, the online sleuth who helped rescue the rabbit and care for two others that had been part of the photo shoot. She and several other people used a pen with wire gates to help corral the bunnies. Chao said she had also recognised the cardboard box from Sorokin's Instagram feed and that it also had a Yonkers address on it, possibly connecting it to the family who put the bunnies up for adoption. The most obvious giveaway, Chao said, was that someone who had worked on the shoot had earlier reached out to her to scout out available bunnies.
