Dodge Challenger Pummels Porsche 911 GT3 RS in Soaking Wet Track Day Crash

The latest car news, reviews, and features.
Social media algorithms feed us so many wild car crash videos that it's almost impossible to be shocked by anything nowadays. Whether it's Ford Mustangs careening into crowds or Ferrari F40s catching on fire, we're pretty much used to it all. But then you come across footage of a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack crashing into a Porsche GT3 RS, and it makes you go, 'What?' And that's before you learn that it happened in Europe.
This YouTube video shared by Carspotter Jeroen was filmed at the famous TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands during last weekend's SuperCar Assen 2025. Judging by the event's website, the weekend features racing, a car show, a marketplace, a track day, and a big party rolled into one shindig.
As it's typical in that region, heavy rain moved into the area during Sunday's track session, but surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly for some hardcore track rats), it did not bring out a red flag. You can see two Porsche GT3 RSs—one, silver and black, and another, white and green—leaving the paddock while the track surface is still very, very wet.
Later on, we get to see these same cars coming around the main straight with an orange Challenger in tow (still wearing the yellow splitter guard, of course). At this point, the straightaway is still wet but not quite as soaked as other areas of the track, at least from what we can see in the various angles of the video.
There's no way to tell how the real timeline of events actually happened, but just 60 seconds into the video, it becomes obvious that weather conditions have taken a major turn for the worse, and rain is coming down quite hard. However, cars are still lapping, and everyone seems to be handling it well for the most part… until the 2:20 mark.
At this point, two different POVs come into frame, reportedly taken by Lena_Pink_RS7 and 026_Automotive from the grandstands along the main straight. The silver Porsche we'd seen before enters as it's making its way to the first corner, when the driver suddenly loses control (likely due to hydroplaning) and the rear end snaps left. While I can't see the entire sequence of events, this other angle found on Instagram shows that the Porsche driver did a good-enough job controlling the spin and limiting damage to his car. It definitely touches the wall, but the car doesn't appear to be heavily damaged by the time it comes to a halt.
That didn't matter, of course, because just a few seconds later, a 4,300-pound American tank smashed into the Porsche and sandwiched it against the wall. The heavy damage can be seen in detail around the 3:00 mark, after the session is red-flagged and an ambulance arrives at the scene of the crash. The Porsche driver can be seen walking around his car, though the Dodge driver isn't shown in the footage.
Why did race control not stop the session before all the chaos ensued? I have no idea, especially at one of Europe's flagship tracks, which currently hosts MotoGP and other major series. While some enthusiasts love to track their cars in all kinds of environments, it was obvious that the track was flooded in some areas, and no specialty tire can save you from that much standing water—even if you're a talented driver. Plus, my guess is that these recreational track drivers didn't exactly bring extreme wets for their half-hour outing.
Overall, this expensive and regrettable crash could've easily been avoided, but what's done is done. Hope everyone is okay.

'Make Sure Your Manager...Doesn't See It:' Man Says His Boss Retaliated Against Him After Seeing His 'Nice Car'

One of the downsides of having nice things? Haters start watching you. That's the PSA TikToker John Jihe (@johnjihe) is sharing in a now-viral video, where he claims his manager secretly resented him for driving a nice car. In his video, Jihe says the experience taught him a hard truth: Some people just 'don't wanna see you win.' The message hit home. As of this writing, his video has racked up more than 1.2 million views. What Happened? Notably, Jihe doesn't say where he worked or spell out what exactly his manager did, but he made it clear that, after a while, the workplace turned hostile. He said the shift came in small, petty ways that added up over time. 'If you drive a nice car to work, make sure your manager … doesn't see it,' he warned in the video. 'Once they see it, it's over.' If they do, he added, they 'might cut your hours or try to fire you.' According to Jihe, that's exactly what happened. He claims that after his boss clocked his Dodge Challenger, she started chipping away at his hours and nitpicking him over minor issues. He said it all started when she spotted him behind the wheel and 'made a face.' From there, things went downhill fast. 'That same month, I was gone,' Jihe said. A Challenger Makes a Statement Texas Car Direct calls the Challenger 'a modern classic' that continues to win over both first-time buyers and die-hard muscle car fans. And according to Kelley Blue Book , a 2023 model can easily top $30,000, with high-end versions pushing $90,000. Of course, those are just ballpark figures. It's unclear how much Jihe paid—or whether his manager assumed the car was brand new, overly expensive, or simply too nice for someone in his position. Either way, the optics alone seemed to stir the pot. Challengers, for what it's worth, are generally seen as more budget-friendly than true luxury brands like BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes. Many don't consider them luxury cars at all. They fall squarely in the muscle car category—more about power and performance than plush interiors or prestige. Sure, some trims come with leather seats, upgraded infotainment systems, and other premium touches. But those features are designed to amplify the drive, not necessarily compete with a luxury sedan. Viewers Say They've Dealt With Hater Bosses, Too Commenters flooded Jihe's video with their own stories, saying they too had dealt with bosses—or other authority figures—who couldn't stomach someone else's success. 'I went to a job interview with a designer bag and she said 'you must have money,'' one woman shared. 'I haven't received a call back yet.' 'This actually happened to me, but it wasn't even my car, it was my mom's car cause mine was getting fixed,' another wrote. 'It was a 2024 Genesis GV70 Prestige. They all kept giving me weird looks.' 'I drive an Audi, and every job starts treating me unfairly after they see my car,' a third chimed in. 'Like it's just a [expletive] car.' 'I hid my BMW in the garage away from everyone for a month,' a fourth commenter added. 'As soon as my coworkers saw it… My work was nit-picked to death.' Others pointed out that it's not just bosses you have to watch out for. The haters, they said, could be anyone: neighbors, fake friends, even family. 'It's not just the managers,' one viewer said. 'Colleagues, too.' 'Jealously everywhere, be wise and discreet,' another warned. 'Neighbors are haters, too,' someone else echoed. Motor1 has reached out to Jihe via a TikTok comment. Cadillac Secures First-Ever Pole for 24 Hours of Le Mans

The latest car news, reviews, and features. Team Jota's Alex Lynn drove his No. 12 Cadillac Hypercar to the automaker's first-ever pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, the British privateer team didn't stop there, as the No. 38 sister car secured the second place on the starting grid, giving Cadillac a historic front-row lockout for next weekend's endurance race. Despite a strong performance by the Cadillac Whelen No. 311 car in the first round of qualifying, Jack Aitken could only secure eighth place, while the No. 101 of Wayne Taylor Racing will start 14th. Even with the disparity between starting positions, all Cadillacs looked strong during different moments of qualifying and should put up a good fight once the race gets underway. After suffering a May from hell due to a cheating scandal at the Indy 500, Penske got off to a poor start at Le Mans due to the disqualification of the No. 6 Porsche for being underweight. That car will start at the back of the Hypercar grid, though the No. 5 will start third from the grid thanks to an impressive performance by Julien Andlauer. The No. 5 actually lost its right-rear wheel during the session, but Andlauer had set a good-enough lap time to retain his third place. Getty Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day was by the Ferrari team, which only managed to qualify in seventh and 11th positions. Having won the race two years in a row, Ferrari is the favorite to do so again, but it will have its work cut out due to its poor qualifying. Cadillac has been building momentum over the last two years, and all of its effort seems to be paying off. In 2023, for its return to Le Mans after 21 years, it managed to finish third place overall, but it missed the podium by one place last year. With such a strong performance by Jota today, it certainly makes us believe that the American automaker has what it takes to win the most prestigious endurance race in the world next week. Got a tip?
