Rosie O'Donnell slams Oprah for attending Jeff Bezos' wedding in Venice
The multi-day event, attended by numerous A-list celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio and Sydney Sweeney, also drew criticism and protests from Venice locals over its opulence and disruption.
In an Instagram post, O'Donnell expressed disgust at the event, writing, 'It turned my stomach seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all.' Her comments specifically questioned Oprah's presence at the wedding. 'Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really? How is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man,' O'Donnell wrote.
She also criticized Bezos' fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, referring to her appearance and contrasting her with Bezos' former wife, philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. 'Sold his soul is what it looks like from here,' O'Donnell added.
Oprah attended the event alongside longtime friend Gayle King, who previously participated in a Blue Origin spaceflight with Sanchez earlier this year. O'Donnell later expanded her comments on Substack, where she frequently posts political and cultural critiques.
Oscar winner Charlize Theron also joined the wave of celebrity criticism, joking at her Africa Outreach Project party that she must be one of the few who didn't receive an invite to the Bezos wedding, adding, 'But that's ok because they suck and we're cool.'
As reported by Variety's Zack Sharf, O'Donnell continues to live in Ireland after leaving the U.S. over political concerns and has stated she won't return until Donald Trump is no longer in power.

Katy Perry caught in scary mid-air mishap during Adelaide concert
Katy Perry's Australian fans got more than just a hit-filled concert on Sunday night, they witnessed a near accident. While performing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre as part of her ongoing 'Lifetimes' Tour, the pop star faced a frightening moment when a massive stage prop began to malfunction mid-air. In fan-captured footage circulating on social media, Perry is seen inside a suspended metallic sphere meant to lift her high above the audience. As it ascended, the sphere suddenly tilted sideways, causing Perry to lose her footing. With quick reflexes, she grabbed the structure to steady herself, visibly startled but managing to stay calm. The incident drew comparisons to Beyoncé's recent onstage scare, when her flying vehicle prop malfunctioned in Houston just a day earlier. While both singers avoided injury, fans online expressed concern about the safety of elaborate tour set pieces. Perry, currently promoting her seventh studio album 143, launched the 'Lifetimes' Tour in Mexico City back in April. The tour has seen her perform across Latin America and Australia, with upcoming stops in the U.S. including headline shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York. The tour will wrap in Abu Dhabi on December 7. Speaking to Variety earlier this year, Perry described her vision for the tour as 'boundary-pushing' and deeply personal. 'I want to create something unforgettable,' she said. 'This tour is about reconnecting with my fans and giving them every ounce of love I have.' Despite the glitch, Perry continued the concert without interruption, proving once again why she's a seasoned live performer.

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt join Dancing With the Stars season 34
Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, stars of Hulu's hit reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, are set to compete on Season 34 of Dancing With the Stars this fall. The announcement was made during the show's reunion special on Monday night. Affleck and Leavitt have been part of Mormon Wives since its September 2024 premiere. The series quickly became Hulu's most-watched unscripted program. When Season 2 launched on May 15, it surpassed the debut season's success, garnering five million views in just five days. Leavitt, who was cast as the group's 'villain' in Season 1 for distancing herself from the #MomTok influencer circle, worked to reconcile with fellow cast members in Season 2 — with mostly positive results, aside from holdout Mikayla Matthews. Affleck experienced a more turbulent second season. She and husband Zac Affleck faced marital challenges early on, but reconciled after learning they were expecting their third child. Affleck later exited filming due to prenatal depression. As of a June 27 Instagram post, she revealed she was in labor during a nail appointment, but has not confirmed the birth publicly. Taylor Frankie Paul, another central figure on the show, recently told Variety that the group is ready to welcome Affleck back. 'She stepped away for her mental health and is taking it step by step,' Paul said. 'We're very welcoming to her.' Affleck and Leavitt are the third and fourth celebrity contestants confirmed for the upcoming season, joining Robert Irwin and Alix Earle. Dancing With the Stars will return this fall on ABC and Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will co-host, while judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough return to the panel.

Lisa Ann Walter says she's ready for a 'Parent Trap' reboot under one condition
Lisa Ann Walter, beloved for playing Chessy in The Parent Trap (1998), says she's open to returning for a reboot but only under one very specific condition. Speaking at an Abbott Elementary event in Los Angeles, Walter shared what would convince her to revisit the fan-favourite role. 'One-hundred percent if Nancy Meyers wrote it,' she said, referring to the director and co-writer of the 1998 Disney remake. Walter also insisted any reboot should include Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid, and thoughtfully honour the absence of Natasha Richardson, who portrayed the twins' mother. 'Dennis has said that he doesn't think it's doable without Natasha, and I understand that,' she explained. 'If it was written beautifully, maybe it's doable.' The actress remains close with co-star Elaine Hendrix and occasionally hears from Lohan via Instagram. She even kept in touch with Quaid during the pandemic, delivering meals to his home. Walter added that although her own kids weren't obsessed with The Parent Trap, they've had their own experiences with its legacy. 'All of my boys have said that girls have dated them specifically because Chessy is their mum,' she joked. Reflecting on the film's lasting impact, Walter said, 'People still dress up as the characters to this day.' She believes a new version, if made with care, would resonate with longtime fans.
