Love Island fans speculate on future of show as Toni and Cach crowned 2025 winners
Love Island 2025 has officially finished and with a bang, as the 2025 winners were announced on Monday night. After a rollercoaster of a season packed with unexpected twists, unlikely connections and plenty of drama, fan favourites Toni and Cach were crowned the winners of series 12.
The pair beat runners up Harry and Shakira for first place, stealing the hearts of the public despite their rocky relationship. Toni, originally from Connecticut, flew over from the US to take part in the UK edition of the show and the gamble seems to have paid off as she found herself a real connection.
The couple met in Casa Amor, when Cach came in as a Casa boy and they quickly became fan favourites. Though the pair are from opposite sides of the world, they have stated they plan to give their relationship a go outside the villa, with Toni, 24, moving to London to be closer to Cach.
Despite their fair share of drama, particularly surrounding Harrison and Toni's previous connection, the couple revealed to host Maya Jama that they had dropped the "L-bomb" privately the night before the final.
Following the result, viewers have been taking to Reddit to discuss whether series 12 will reshape the whole formula of the show moving forward after a raft of dramatic moments this time round.
From Casa Amor boys being overwhelmingly popular this season, as three of them made it to the final, to an OG couple rekindling things a week before the series ended, this season changed the usual format of the show.
Additionally, outspoken finalist Yasmin challenged the show's typical casting choices, bringing a completely different Islander attitude to any before - which was an instant hit with viewers.
One user asked the question: "Do you think series 12 will change the way people approach being on Love Island in future? I feel like we had a decent amount of things happen this year that usually don't."
The question sparked a huge reaction from other fans who speculated about the future of the show. One fan replied: "I hope so. The show was getting to be boring and too formulaic with everyone only staying in their original couples to be safe... The CASA boys were universally liked and made it to the finals. I loved the shake up!"
Another viewer was unsure whether the shift would be a good or bad thing, writing: "I think messy authenticity won this season, and that will have an impact. However, whether that's a good impact (people being vulnerable and taking risks) or a bad one (people trying to perform or narrate their own messiness), I don't know."
For others, season 12 will be one to beat considering all the drama. One fan stated: "This season was chef's kiss. It was SO good. It's gonna be hard to top honestly... Maybe in previous ones they've chosen people who would get along in the villa but after the success of this season, they may just bin that idea and go with the drama lol."
One viewer pointed to the fact the show needs a 'villain' to keep things interesting, penning: "TO BE HONEST, you need some proper dirty dogs in the show. Yes, they aren't likeable, but f**k me it spiced it up. This series was the first back to its old ways."
Still not everyone was keen on how divided the islanders seemed this year, as one viewer hoped this wouldn't be the case going forwards. They wrote: "I'm looking forward to not seeing another DIVIDE once was triggering enough!"

Kardashian-loved make-up artist reveals how to get £210 of beauty products for £55
We ask make-up artist and social media sensation Genevieve Turley about tips, trends and her new OK! Beauty Box – including a way for Mirror readers to get it for under £55 If you like looking at beauty content on Instagram or TikTok, the chances are that you will have seen some of Genevieve Turley's videos. At a time when beauty can seem to mostly be perfectly edited images and unrealistic standards, professional make-up artist Gen's posts are refreshingly hilarious and down-to-earth – and they've drawn attention from A-listers such as Jennifer Aniston and the Kardashians. Gen also worked on the ITV show Katie Piper's Weekend Escape, helping to make over members of the public with inspiring stories to tell, and has just released her own limited-edition edit with OK! Beauty Box, containing 11 of her favourite products – and a huge saving for Mirror readers to be had, too (keep scrolling for an exclusive offer)... How did you get into doing make-up professionally? I changed career in 2018. I had been a burns and plastics nurse in the RAF but make-up had long been a passion of mine, so once I had my daughter in 2017 I knew I wanted to leave the forces and start my own business. I had no idea what I was doing with social media at first, I just knew it was a free marketing tool and it was a great way to get my work out there. What was the turning point in your career? My presence on social media skyrocketed in 2024 when I started to do more comedy skits about make-up. My first one went viral on Instagram and both Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian commented on it. I went from 4,000 followers to 100,000 in weeks. I like to make fun of trends but sometimes there is a serious undertone about the pressure of beauty standards. How would you describe your make-up style? Natural to soft glam. A lot of my professional work has been bridal, so I have plenty of experience with different skin tones, skin types, ages etc. Online, I like to show my audience how to use products, as the beauty world can be very overwhelming. Most women want simple tips to enhance their natural beauty. And what can people expect from your social media accounts? It's a real mishmash. Overall, I like to think my pages are relatable to women aged 35+. It's life on the go as a woman with two young kids and a dog. I review make-up and skincare while sharing tips and tricks, but I also try to bring some fun. Social media can negatively impact a person's headspace, confidence and worthiness. I like to think that on mine, you will feel seen, empowered and upbeat. What's the most ridiculous make-up trend you've seen recently? So many! The blush hacks have gotten out of control. Just whack it on and get on with your day! And putting make-up onto clingfilm so you can splat it on your face in the morning. Wild! Dangerous, too, as young kids are online and this has obvious risks. Not worth the clickbait. What was the most inspirational story you heard from working on Katie Piper's Weekend Escape? There were so many. Michael [Douglas, celeb hair stylist] and I honestly had such a wonderful time with these incredible individuals who all had inspiring stories to share. One that sticks out was a lady whose young son died from type 1 diabetes. I was sitting in the room with tears rolling down my face. His mum had taken him to the GP and they said it was a virus. He could have so easily been saved. Just heartbreaking. What was important to you wh en creating your OK! B eauty Box? I've had so many beauty boxes over the years and always thought, 'What would I put in mine?' So when this happened I was delighted! I wanted great products that will make a big impact. Medik8 C-Tetra Lipid Vitamin C Radiance Serum is a showstopper. The Rodial Blush Drops will also be popular. This box is a great opportunity to try products you may not have heard of or been afraid to splurge on, but with the massive saving (it's worth over £210 but costs £59.99), it takes away the worry. What are your top tips for using the products inside? Just have a play with them, feel the textures, and try different ways of applying them. Make-up and skincare should be a mix of TLC and creative play. I wanted products that were perfect for my 'natural make-up' women. What's a quick and easy make-up trick that not enough people know? Setting spray. Spritz after foundation and then again after adding powder. It helps to bond the make-up so it looks natural and skin-like, but also adds longevity. You can also spritz throughout the day to rehydrate your skin while also refreshing your make-up. What would you pick as your ultimate desert island make-up product? How can you ask me that?! If I have to say just one, it would be the Dr PawPaw Shea Butter Lip Balm from the box because it's so multifunctional. It's great for the lips but also gives a lovely glow to your cheeks, or you can pop it on your brows to add some shape. It's a great all-rounder and handbag essential. Reader offer Get £5 off the limited-edition OK! Beauty Box by Genevieve Turley – worth over £210 – and buy it for £54.99 instead of the usual price of £59.99 while stocks last. You might also be interested in a skincare-focused box like Lookfantastic's The Skin Renewal Edit, which is valued at £210 but costs £45, or the Boots X Supergoop! Love Island's Harry Cooksley admits dating friend of Montana Brown just days before entering villa
Love Island runner-up Harry Cooksley has admitted he was dating a friend of Montana Brown just days before stepping foot in the villa. The reality star, 30, faced the awkward confession after Montana claimed he had been romancing her close friend right up until filming began. The ex-contestant, who appeared in series three of the dating show, dropped the bombshell on TikTok hours before last week's final, telling her followers not to back Harry for the win. The rumour mill went into overdrive, and just days later Harry was grilled about the claims during an appearance on This Morning alongside his partner Shakira. Host Emma Willis asked if he could respond to the allegations that had been thrown at him - something Harry didn't deny. Dressed in a stripy knitted white vest and brown trousers he admitted: 'Yeah, I was dating before I came in – I think we all were. 'I went on a few dates with her friend. You're not in the villa until you're actually in the villa. I only told my family and two of my closest mates I was going on Love Island.' He insisted it wasn't a serious relationship, adding: 'It's true, I was dating people obviously. But my actual ex girlfriend came into the villa, so it wasn't like it was an actual ex. Things have changed a lot in the last eight weeks'. Shakira and Harry have had a rollercoaster journey in the villa with Harry's roaming eye causing plenty of upset. While the pair were originally coupled up, it wasn't long before his head was turned and he snuck off to the Hideaway with Helena. After changing his mind once again, he returned to Helena after the pair claimed to have a 'undeniable connection'. Fans will then remember the dramatic moment his ex Emma walked into Casa Amor, blindsiding Harry while he was coupled up with Helena. Despite their history, Harry and Emma didn't rekindle their romance, but his time in Casa Amor wasn't exactly scandal-free, with the footballer striking up a flirtation with bombshell Rheo, even sharing kisses under the covers. Ultimately, he returned to the main villa single and carried on with Helena – only to later admit he still had feelings for Shakira, claiming his relationship with Helena was more like friendship. It comes after Montana Brown urged fans of the dating show not to vote for Harry as she branded him a 'walking red flag' for the way he apparently treated her friend before flying off to Mallorca to 'find love' in the villa. Airing her thoughts in a TikTok video, Montana said: 'Guys I've not been involved in the whole Love Island chat so this is the tea. 'Harry was seeing someone that I know, one of my good friends, right before he went on the show and wrote her a letter and said, oh my gosh I know you're doing to be really surprised at this but I still love you and we're going to be together and I just need to sort my head out and all of this c**p. Discouraging her followers from voting for Harry and Shakira, she said: 'And now I'm like this guy cannot win. Although I love Shakira from what I've seen of her, she's incredible.
