'Amazon just dropped my go-to tinted SPF to its cheapest price on the high street'
Now, as a beauty writer, I know the importance of wearing sunscreen all year round, but we tend to think of it a lot more when the warmer season tends to roll around.
One that I have recently adopted into my own skincare routine, much like the rest of TikTok, is the cult Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid Sheer Glow with SPF50 - and it's just been dropped to its cheapest price on Amazon.
Usually retailing at £12.99, the online retailer has cut it to just £6.85, while rivals Boots and Superdrug still have it at full price. Considering I called it my new go-to for "a summer glow", Amazon's deal is worth bagging ahead of summer.
Said to be so popular that it "sold one every minute" on the TikTok shop, this brightening fluid has become loved for its lightweight texture that has been designed to be "super blendable" for all skin tones and types.
Using both vitamin C and a high sun protection of SPF50, it doesn't just keep you protected from harmful UV rays, but it can also work to reduce pigmentation and the appearance of dark spots caused by overexposure to the sun.
Aside from offering high sun protection and a non-greasy formula, I loved the tinted glow that was created due to the mineral pigments that made it "look like I caught the sun in all the right ways."
For anyone unsure on the 'one shade suits all skin tones', an alternative is the Beauty of Joseon Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30 (50ml), which costs £15.30 at Boots and is available in a few different shades.
Meanwhile, another option that offers a sheer tint is the Bondi Sands SPF 50+ Everyday Tinted Face Fluid (50ml) that is currently available to buy for £7.99 on Lookfantastic.
However, it's not just me that has been singing the praises of the Garnier Vitamin C Brightening Fluid, as it has amassed a 4.4 rating and over 4,000 reviews on Amazon alone, as shoppers say that it is "the best thing ever" and gives a "subtle, dewy look."

A positive review read: "Bought for a holiday and it's the best thing ever! Goes on very smoothly and leaves an incredible glow. It has a very fine tint and I felt confident enough to go out and about with no makeup on plus it protected my face with it's factor 50!! I got another tube cos I think this stuff is it for me now!!"
A second happy shopper added: "This should become a part of everyone's daily routine. Lightweight, but really does give you a slight glow. I apply after my vit c daily face cream, love the fact it has spf in it."
Beauty deal of the week
Perfume fans will be keen to hear about a deal we have just spotted at Boots.
Those looking for something "timeless" and "distinctive" might already have Givenchy's Amarige Eau de Toilette on their radar. A favourite since the early 90s, it's got a bit of a cult reputation.
Even better, Boots has just dropped the cost of a large 100ml from £109 to just £54.50, allowing shoppers to save an impressive 50 percent off a beloved perfume.
Its scent makes up a "beautiful bouquet of white flowers", with top notes of tangerine, violet and rosewood being mixed with heart notes of gardenia, mimosa, red fruits and ylang-ylang.
The scent then finishes on "vibrant yet muted" base notes of ambergris, precious woods, musks and vanilla. The bottle, which was designed by perfume legend Pierre Dinand, takes inspiration from the ruffles sleeves of a Bettina Blouse designed by Givenchy.
One shopper who is a devoted fan wrote: "One five-star review read: "I bought this on offer at Boots, it was around £30 cheaper than anywhere else! It has an amazing timeless distinctive scent must be tried!"
A second loyal fan said: "The best perfume of all times! So classy! I'm glad it is back for it has been my signature perfume for more than a decade. Intense. Long lasting. Amazing. Complements galore!"

While another devoted fan wrote: "I treated myself to this for holiday and OMG you need to try it — It feels like a moisturiser, dries instantly so was able to put makeup on pretty quick, it lasted all day in the sun no problem AND the glow made it look like I had foundation on. I've decided to make it part of my daily makeup kit."
Anyone with a combination skin type may find it not suitable, as one such shopper said: "Unfortunately, it is not suitable for my skin type. I have a combination type and made more oily. It is a shame."
Another happy shopper said: "This is really good if you love a subtle dewy look. Makes your skin look less dull. I will be buying more once I have ran out."

Celeb hairdresser issues stern sunburn warning over popular sunscreen hack
Tess Daly and Emily Blunt's stylist Phil Smith says the TikTok hack for spritzing your scalp with watered down SPF can only lead to disaster Another heatwave looms which means dips in the pool, frolicking in the sea and the sun's rays beating down on your hair. Meanwhile, people are jetting off to sunny resorts where they can top up their tan and cool off in either the hotel's swimming pools or in some crystal waters on a foreign beach. But while sun, sea and swimming pool s are the best bits of summer - they might be the worst for our hair. Celebrity hairdresser Phil Smith, who has looked after Tess Daly and Emily Blunt's hair, says he always sees a surge in clients arriving at his salon worrying about frizzing, colour fade and frazzled scalps at this time of year. However, there's no need to let your tresses go fully feral with his expert insights and surprising hacks. 'Maintaining effortless, healthy hair all summer can be a challenge - but with the right tips, tricks and products, you can protect your locks without compromising on style and quality,' he says. Don't fall for TikTok hair sunscreen hacks We've all experienced that sting in the shower after a day at the beach - the telltale sign of a sunburned scalp. But avoiding a pink parting isn't always as easy as it sounds. 'I've seen people on TikTok suggest mixing sunscreen with water in a spray bottle to mist over the scalp,' says Phil. 'Unfortunately, this just dilutes the SPF, making it far less protective. And it's a big no no if you have hair extensions too. 'If the sunscreen contains ingredients like avobenzone, it can leave rust-like stains on them,' he adds. Instead, a smarter approach is to choose a hairstyle that eliminates your parting altogether. 'Slicking your hair back into a ponytail is one option, but that can be a bit harsh and doesn't suit everyone. I recommend going for a topknot or a couple of soft buns instead. Just leave a few loose strands out for a softer, more effortless look - it's protective and super cute.' Use ketchup to boost blonde tones It's particularly tough being a blonde in summer, when colour can be left brassy and battered by pollution and UV exposure - or even go green after contact with chlorine. 'One hair hack I particularly love, because it shocks people that it works, is using tomato ketchup to reverse green tinges,' says Phil. 'Apply a tablespoon to lengths and wait up to 30 minutes before rinsing. The acid in the tomatoes and vinegar break down the copper build-up that causes the discolouration, restoring the blonde tones you love. If you prefer results in seconds rather than smelling like you belong in a burger for half an hour, when you get back from your sunshine break, he suggests grabbing a bottle of Phil Smith Professional Haircare Blonde Toning Shampoo (£14 each; ), which uses amino acid rich violet rice extract to have you back to your 'natural' colour in the time it takes to shampoo and rinse.' Shower before the pool to protect against chlorine There's nothing better than diving into a cool pool on a hot day, but chlorinated water can leave hair dry, brittle and weak. The good news? A little prep goes a long way. 'Our hair is porous, but it can only absorb so much water at once,' says Phil. 'If you want to limit how much chlorine your hair soaks up, wet your hair with fresh water before swimming. "Take a quick shower or, if you're at the beach, keep a refillable bottle of tap water handy so you can rinse before taking the plunge.' Phil also advises against swimming with your hair down. 'I always tell my clients to apply a leave-in conditioner and then tie hair up in a bun to shield it,' he says. Use the right towel on damp locks Wet hair is much weaker and more prone to breakage than dry strands, so how you care for it after a swim is just as crucial as before. 'Keep a soft microfibre towel like the Dock & Bay Hair Wrap (£15; in your beach bag so you aren't tempted to rough dry with an abrasive beach towel, which will damage the cuticle and leave you with a halo of frizz,' says Phil. If you want to comb out knots post-swim, he advises buying a wet brush. 'The MDLondon Vent Brush (£13; is perfect,' says Phil. 'Start detangling from the ends and work upwards to avoid breakage and minimise discomfort. Add a pump of Phil Smith Professional Haircare Miracle Primer (£14; at the same time, with hyaluronic acid to fight humidity-induced frizz and plant-based hemisqualane to smooth and detangle. Get your roots done once you've returned home Everyone wants their hair to look amazing in their holiday photos, but if your sunshine getaway happens to fall around the time you're due to see your colourist, it might be worth delaying that appointment. 'UV rays break down dye pigment molecules, so when you're on a sun-soaked holiday it's almost impossible to avoid fading and dullness - unless you spend the entire trip under a giant hat,' says Phil. 'While no one wants to skip a root touch-up to cover greys, if you can, I recommend stretching the time between appointments and scheduling your session for after you return home. Getting your hair professionally coloured is an investment - this way, your colour stays fresher for longer and you avoid paying for salon results that can't last.'

I tested three sunscreens designed to sit over make-up — budget option was my favourite
Scroll down for a perfect high street mascara that doesn't look heavy or clumpy SUN-SATIONAL I tested three sunscreens designed to sit over make-up — budget option was my favourite Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A NEW breed of sun protection designed to sit over make-up has hit shelves, meaning topping up your SPF thoughout the day is easy. But be warned – you still need to apply a proper sunscreen underneath, as they won't give you enough protection alone. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 We test three sun protections designed to sit over make-up BUDGET Garnier Vitamin C UV Mist £12.99 for 75ml 4 Garnier Vitamin C UV Mist is so lightweight you won't notice it at all The first time I used this mist I thought it was broken, given that my eyes were closed and I didn't feel a single thing hitting my face. So to double check, I applied it to my arm – keeping my eyes open – and it turns out, it's just so lightweight you won't notice it at all. In fact it's so good that we've just crowned it the winner of Best Face Sunscreen in this year's Fabulous Beauty Awards. READ MORE ON SUNSCREEN SPF BFF I've tried hundreds of budget sunscreens as a beauty editor - here's the very best It doesn't make my eyes sting, cause breakouts or ruin my make-up. All in all, it's exactly what I want from an SPF. MID-RANGE Naked Sundays SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist, £18 for 50ml, 4 Naked Sundays SPF50+ Hydrating Glow Mist doesn't feel wet or sticky on Full transparency, I didn't think I'd like this, given the name. I usually run from anything labelled glowy as I have extremely oily skin, so I prefer products that help reduce shine rather than add to it. As expected, it does leave skin incredibly glowy – yet like magic, it doesn't feel wet or sticky on. In fact, it dries surprisingly fast, almost like a setting spray. I love that it's a non-aerosol mist, as they are easier to pack and better for the planet. But I do find it means the spray can be inconsistent and sometimes feel a little too wet, so make sure you shake it well before using. LUXURY Supergoop! (Re)setting Powder SPF 30, £29 for 4.25g, 4 Supergoop! (Re)setting Powder SPF 30 acts almost like a dry shampoo I first tried this product a couple of years ago in the US, but now it's available at Boots so I've finally been able to restock! I love how versatile the powder is. You can use it over your face in the same way you would a setting powder, and it also works on the scalp, acting almost like a dry shampoo to absorb moisture while helping prevent sunburn. But reapplying it multiple times becomes tricky, as it can end up looking cakey, so I find it works best in tandem with a face mist (SPF or otherwise) to add some moisture back into skin. But if you're worried about shine, it's a no-brainer.
