Mariah Carey just had the best response to learning Katy Perry went to space

Metro2 days ago
Mariah Carey just learned that Katy Perry went to space – and it was frankly iconic.
'Would you fancy going to space?' Scott Mills asked the pop sensation and certifiable Queen of Christmas in an interview for BBC Radio 2. 'You know, like Katy Perry did?'
A fairly innocuous question, seeing as everyone in the world was aware of the Dark Horse's controversial and heavily criticised all-female Blue Origin 10-minute space trip to the Kármán line – well, not everyone.
'Did she go to space?' asked Mariah, seemingly genuinely confused.
'Mmhmm,' Scott said with a nod. 'Not for long. I think it was…'
'Where did she go?' said Mariah looking around at the crew and seemingly absolutely baffled, perhaps assuming she went to the moon or to a space station. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNC-29rsUj4/?igsh=MWVyNHZmMzhxd241aA%3D%3D
A crewmember informed her that she 'just went into orbit and back'.
'She's like floating in the…And this is true?' she said seeming more baffled than ever. Scott confirmed he had not made it up the news.
'Wow,' she said in a completely unenthused tone. 'Alright Katy,' she added, seeming completely unimpressed.
'I'm not mad at her, that's pretty amazing,' she added.
The real question is of course, does Mariah see herself going to space one day?
'I think I've done enough,' she said with a laugh.
Fair enough!

The other women on the flight included TV host and journalist Gayle King, NASA aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, research scientist Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.
Footage from inside the vessel showed the crew floating around before coming together for a cheer, yelling: 'Take up space!'
Video footage showed Katy holding a flower and gazing into the camera while floating around the cabin. After landing on Earth, she held the daisy to the sky and then kissed the ground.
Although it was heavily reported at the time, Mariah was

Loose Women's Katie Piper admits 'it's not always easy' with co-stars

Loose Women star Katie Piper said it is 'it's not always easy' to see her fellow panelists outside of work but that they have had a 'few fun nights out' together Loose Women' s Katie Piper opens up on what it is really like being a Loose Women panellist. She admitted that while there have been a few occasions where they see each other outside of work, it is 'not easy' seeing them as many of the familiar faces live 'up north'. ‌ In an exclusive chat with OK!, Katie reveals that the show is a 'good opportunity to work with people from all age ranges and walks of life' and that there have been a 'few fun nights out'. ‌ Speaking about her time on the popular ITV daytime show, Katie, t he survivor of an acid attack carried out by an ex-boyfriend and his accomplice in 2008, said: 'There's such a rich, broad roster of people, it's not just TV presenters but athletes, actresses, political women, news readers. There are all kinds of women.'It comes after photos show Holly Willoughby letting her hair down in white swimsuit on sun soaked holiday. ‌ She added: 'It's such a good opportunity to work with people from all age ranges and walks of life. Some live up north – actually quite a few of them do, so it's not easy. But there have been a few very fun nights out.' 'There have been Christmas dos, there's been the NTAs, there have been Bafta nights – we've certainly all got dressed up quite a few times together and been in taxis with little cans of gin and tonics.' ‌ Katie, who is a mum to daughters Belle, 11, and Penelope, seven, and married to Richard Sutton for nearly a decade, said she was really 'proud' when she was asked to join the show and explains that she can be her authentic self. She explained: 'I was really happy and proud to be asked to join the panel because what I like about the show is you are not scripted or produced to be a certain character or person – you genuinely are allowed to be your authentic self. I think it's a good platform to express your views and things you're passionate about. I've always watched it as a viewer too, so it's amazing.' ‌ Katie also opened up on her work/life balance and said she tries 'not to rush through life' with her children as 'time goes so fast'. She does this by putting her phone on flight mode in the evenings so there are no distractions and having dinner together. The TV presenter said: 'I love eating dinner with them – we can chat when we eat. But at home we eat around 4.30pm, so when I'm away for work and people want to go have dinner at 8pm, I'm like, 'Guys, I'm going to faint because I normally have dinner at 4.30pm. I'm ready for bed now!'

Emmerdale's Ruby causes a shocking scene as Manpreet reels in new spoiler video

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has lost Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) in Emmerdale, and thinks it's all Manpreet Sharma's (Rebecca Sarker) fault. Ross Barton (Michael Parr) slept with Manpreet shortly after being dumped by Steph earlier this year. At the time, Manpreet was feeling lonely, and decided to connect with Ross over a game of pool. They then slept together, but Ross told Manpreet that he had no intention of carrying their fling on because he was worried about how Steph would feel, if it became village gossip. And now it has. Last week, Ruby and Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) were gossiping with Manpreet in the café. They were digging into her love life, and she casually revealed that she had slept with someone fairly recently. Ross then walked in with Steph, and Manpreet confirmed that he is the man in question. Manpreet certainly didn't expect to cause a massive amount of drama by revealing this but in that moment, she had no idea that Ross and Steph were back together, and that she had just exposed his lie. Poor Steph was devastated, and it led to her leaving the village to go travelling. In the episode of the ITV soap that aired tonight, Ross tried to distract himself from the heartbreak by asking Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) for a job at the garage. He said no, but Ross attempted to show that he was still a capable mechanic by inspecting a car. Ross injured his hand in the process, and this was witnessed by Manpreet. She kindly bandaged his hand up, but then gave into the sexual attraction and slept with Ross again. After, Manpreet and Ross kissed on the doorstep of her house like a couple of teenagers. It was witnessed by Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and Ruby, who was fuming. In this new video, Ruby heads to see Manpreet at the surgery to talk about her antics with Ross. She speaks to Claudette (Flo Wilson) first, who points out that she cannot see Manpreet without an appointment. Manpreet leaves her office with a patient moments after this, and feels incredibly uncomfortable when Ruby mentions Ross in front of a room full of other residents. Ruby calls her newfound enemy a 'lying s*****r' and leaves, pleased with the fact she's just tarnished Manpreet's reputation as a local GP. Wanting revenge, upcoming episodes will see Manpreet head to the depot to find Ruby after her actions. At first, Ruby is unbothered but Manpreet refuses to not be heard and makes her point by dramatically and somewhat dangerously hijacking a forklift. She holds the forklift hostage and refuses to get off until Ruby hears her out. Ruby couldn't be less bothered when Manpreet tries to get her interest by bringing up her awful affair with Cain (Jeff Hordley), but Manpreet has Ruby's full attention when she utters the S word – Steph. Angry mama Ruby snaps, attacking Manpreet, who quite frankly is asking for it. Caleb, meanwhile, is oblivious and supping a delicious pint in the Woolie, safe in the knowledge that the Depot is fine and dandy. More Trending He has no idea two grown women are knocking seven bells out of each other at his place of business. Neither Ruby or Manpreet will back down and as things escalate the boys in blue arrive – and both are arrested for ABH. Will they both end up with records or find a way to resolve this feud? Rare ceremonial heads discovered in Peru shed light on 'Warriors of the Clouds'

CHACHAPOYAS, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Archaeologists in Peru's Amazon region have uncovered two rare, 1,000-year-old ceremonial stone club heads along with roughly 200 ancient structures and a unique zigzag frieze. The discoveries were made at the Ollape site in the Amazonian district of La Jalca in an area where the Chachapoyas civilization, or "Warriors of the Clouds," developed between 900 and 1,450 A.D. According to lead archaeologist Pablo Solis, these findings offer a new understanding of the less-studied society that inhabited the area. The intricately crafted club heads are believed to have held ceremonial significance, hinting at ritual practices of a society whose cultural footprint remains largely unexplored. The intricate zigzag pattern is the first of its kind to be found in the region, and the number of structures suggests Ollape was an important ceremonial and residential hub. Peru is rich in archaeological discoveries, with researchers frequently uncovering ancient remains. The country is home to numerous historical sites, including the famous Machu Picchu in the Andean highlands of Cusco and the mysterious Nazca lines etched into the desert along the coast.
