Too nervous to date alone? Now you can team up with a friend! Tinder launches Double Date feature

Going on a first date can be scary for even the most confident singletons.
From what to wear to whether the conversation will flow, many daters go into the situation with worries playing on their minds.
So imagine how much nicer it would be if you could bring your best friend along.
Tinder has just launched Double Date – a new feature that turns the scary world of dating into a team sport.
The app will let you and a friend join forces and match with other duos, taking the pressure off an intimidating first meeting.
Users can invite friends to 'pair up' and scroll through other Double Date pairs to try and find a match.
Once a connection is made, a chat is created and the group can arrange a date.
Tests show women using this function are three times more likely to 'like' a pair than they are individual profiles, Tinder said.
Match rates have been significantly higher for those using the feature, the company revealed, and users send 35 per cent more messages in group conversations compared to typical one-on-one chats.
'Whether you're getting ready, meeting someone new, or catching up after the date, Double Date makes dating feel more fun, social, and supportive—especially for women and younger users,' Tinder said.
'With Double Date, the post-date recap doesn't have to wait—it starts as soon as the date ends.'
While the feature has only launched in the US for now, a global rollout is planned for July.
This isn't the first time the dating app has brought user's friends and family into their dating lives.
Their 'Matchmaker' feature allows users to ask friends to recommend profiles for them.
And the 'Share My Date' function lets people share their date plans directly with friends and loved ones.
Tinder said their new innovation is designed to make meeting new people 'way less pressure'.
Once a first date has been arranged, deciding what to wear is the next step.
And while red is the shade most associated with love and passion, previous studies have found it's no longer the colour women reach for ahead of a first encounter.
In fact, those hoping to hit it off with a potential partner are more likely to wear black, researchers found.
A study based on the hit TV series First Dates showed the majority of 546 daters across six series wore black to meet their match.
While evolutionary studies have long pointed to the fact females use red to attract a mate, black is a more modern and fashionable choice, pointing to the large role 'cultural and societal' influences play in how we dress, experts said.
HOW CAN YOU CHECK IF YOU ARE BEING CATFISHED?
Dating apps and online websites are plagued with fraudulent profiles, known as 'catfishes'.
'Catfishing' originated as a term for the process of luring people into false relationships, however, it has also come to encompass people giving out false information about themselves more generally.
These profiles often use images of another person to allow users to pretend to be someone else in order to get a date, or scam money from a lonelyheart.
Fortunately, there are certain ways to check if these profiles are real people or if they are bogus accounts —
1. Google reverse image search
This is probably the most valuable tool for catching out a catfish and can be done via Google.
To kickstart the process, people need only right-click the photos that are arousing their suspcions, copy the URL and paste it into images.google.com.
The search engine will search to see if the image has been used elsewhere.
If you find the picture associated with a different person to the one you're speaking to on your dating app, it's likely you've met a catfish!
2. Use an app called Veracity
It is useful for dating sites such as Tinder, Bumble and Grindr as it allows images from Dropbox or Camera roll (or similar) to be cross-referenced against any matching results.
Load the app, then select a screenshot of the suspicious dating app profile from your camera roll to launch the search.
The app will tell you if the picture belongs to somebody else.
3. Check their Facebook
Almost everyone who has a profile on a dating site will have a Facebook account (most dating apps require users to have one, after all!) so it is always advisable to track down your potential suitor on other forms of social media.
4. Google them
Google and other search engines have an extensive repertoire and most people will crop up in a search.
In this day and age, it's unusual for someone to have nothing on Google.
Have a search through for them or their relatives, things they've said or posted in the past. If there's nothing, that should raise alarm bells.
6. Money

Breakingviews - Trump Mobile sends big business a chilling message

NEW YORK, June 16 (Reuters Breakingviews) - A scary call is coming for CEOs from inside the White House. President Donald Trump's family holding company unveiled a new cellular service and touted a 'Made in USA' smartphone. It will piggyback on AT&T (T.N), opens new tab, Verizon Communications (VZ.N), opens new tab and T-Mobile US (TMUS.O), opens new tab networks for a piece of the $200 billion mobile market. Brazen conflicts of interest abound in a scary new normal for Corporate America. The Trump Organization, which houses a business empire run by the president's sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, rolled out its Trump Mobile offering on Monday. The service, opens new tab features unlimited talk, text and data, telehealth benefits and free international calling to more than 100 countries pitched specifically at military bases. The cost is $47.45 per month, evoking Trump's role as both the 47th and 45th U.S. president. A gold mobile phone due for release in August costs $499, and consumers can plunk down a $100 deposit now. White House officials say there are no personal and professional clashes to worry about because it is Trump's offspring who are in charge. Yet the president reported more than $600 million of income last year from cryptocurrencies and other licensing deals using his name on watches, bibles, sneakers and fragrances, according to Reuters. Royalties from other sources such as rice cookers and dinner plates emblazoned with Trump's face on them are also in the works through deals with Insta Pot and Lenox, Semafor reported. Realistically speaking, Trump Mobile invites a slew of unseemly controversy. For one thing, telecommunications is a highly regulated industry. The Federal Communications Commission oversees wireless spectrum used to build out 5G networks, and Trump's relationship with Chairman Brendan Carr is a cozy one. After Carr told satellite mogul Charlie Ergen that his indebted company EchoStar would have to start selling some of its unused spectrum licenses, the president brokered a follow-up meeting last week, according to Bloomberg. EchoStar shares jumped 45% on the news. The Trump phone service also threatens to put AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, with a combined $650 billion of market value, in awkward positions. They will be in business with the president's children while providing services to the U.S. government. Trump already has seen fit to exert influence over law firms, universities and companies because of diversity initiatives. A branded mobile service goes beyond even those pressure tactics and profiting on wine and snow globes. It sends a very chilling message to big business. Foodies left 'mind blown' after discovering unexpected key ingredient in Worcestershire sauce

It's a condiment commonly used to boost flavour in dishes like pasta, casseroles, pies and even Bloody Mary cocktails - but people are only now discovering one Worcestershire sauce's key ingredients, and it's blowing their minds. The sauce is typically made with water, vinegar, brown sugar, golden syrup, salt, tamarind, spices, onion powder, garlic flavour - and the surprising addition of anchovies. The revelation emerged after a mum shared her own version of the 'best Caesar salad you'll ever have in your life' which she declared was 'picky child approved'. Her recipe calls for romaine lettuce, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, crushed crotons, Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. 'Just a little spritz of Worcestershire... this has anchovies in it,' she casually said. The home cook said the condiment was a perfect substitute in the salad because she wasn't a fan of fresh anchovies. 'Please don't come at me for not using fresh anchovies... I don't like them, my kids don't like them,' she said. While thousands were excited to recreate her version of the Caesar salad dressing, many were stunned to learn that anchovies were hidden in the condiment. 'Wait a second. I had no idea Worcestershire sauce had anchovies in it,' one said. 'I just ran to check my sauce - and yes. I haven't eaten Caesar dressing since I've learned it's in there and all along I've been eating this. I'm dead,' another shared. 'My mind is blown, Worcestershire sauce has anchovies?!' one exclaimed. 'Never knew that Worcestershire sauce contained anchovies,' another added. Many revealed they had always avoided Caesar salad but were happy to learn that the subtle salty, fishy flavour with a hint of umami came from Worcestershire sauce. 'YAY I've always wanted a non-fishy Caesar recipe,' one said. 'Omg I need to make this because when I found out about the anchovies in Worcestershire sauce, I stopped eating it,' another shared. 'This looks bomb - I hate anchovies so this I could do,' one added. Sydney top chef Graeme Hunt, the culinary operations manager at Felons Manly Wharf, told FEMAIL that Worcestershire sauce is a great replacement in recipes that call for anchovies. 'One of the ingredients in Worcestershire sauce is anchovies, which is probably surprising to most people. But having it in there adds a nice salty flavour, but is balanced out by other ingredients, like tamarind and vinegar,' Graeme said. 'Things that its often used in include Bloody Mary cocktails and oyster Kilpatrick. You could use it as a substitute for a recipe that calls for anchovies - but only a little dash. 'People are often fearful of seeing a whole anchovy in a dish, like as a topping on a pizza. But anchovies are frequently used in sauces for Caesar salad dressing or a pasta - you probably already unknowingly love it.'

Cardi B reveals baby daughter Blossom for FIRST time in sweet photos

Cardi B has revealed baby daughter Blossom's face for the first time with an array of sweet Instagram photos on Monday. The Bodak Yellow rapper, 32 - who recently risked a wardrobe malfunction while attending the ASCAP celebration - uploaded snaps of the eight-month-old as well as her other kids Kulture, six and Wave, three. The performer shares her three children with ex Offset - as the pair continue to be embroiled in a bitter divorce battle. In one image, Blossom could be seen flashing a big smile as she stood on her feet while wearing a hot pink onesie and pastel pink socks. A Louis Vuitton scarf was placed on top of her head, and contained both the brand's logo as well as a cherry blossom pattern on the silk material. Small bags were placed nearby with the same style. Another picture was taken as Cardi B held her youngest child in her arms as they both held cheerful grins for the cute moment. Blossom appeared to be a fan of the items and held a mini Louis Vuitton bag in her hand with an excited smile. Her daughter Kulture also paused for a couple of photos as she modeled some purses from the luxurious brand. The eldest daughter of Cardi B and Offset posed outdoors while wearing a scarf from the line and held two bags. Wave also appeared in the star's latest Instagram carousel, including a closeup snap of his face. Another image showed the three-year-old lounging on a couch and looking through a phone. Cardi B showcased an assortment of pieces from the Louis Vuitton x Murakami Collection which is currently available online to consumers. The songstress - whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Cephus - also modeled some items from the collection herself. While wearing a nude bodysuit, the Please Me rapper carried a large purse over her right shoulder and held an umbrella above her. As she crouched down on an outside deck, the music artist held a smile and also sported a pair of open-toed heels. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) In one image, Blossom could be seen flashing a big smile as she stood on her feet while wearing a hot pink onesie and pastel pink socks In the caption of the post, Cardi B penned to her followers: 'It is you Miss Blossom Belles,' followed by cherry blossom emojis. The performer first revealed the name of her youngest child late last month in May as she put her ex Offset on blast. At the time, she had jumped to X Spaces to give an emotional response to a spokesperson for the music artist telling The Breakfast Club he is requesting 'everything' amid their divorce proceedings, per Hollywood Unlocked. Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset - whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus - last year in July. But it was also revealed last month that he requested she pay him spousal spousal support. At one point, the mom-of-three claimed that her estranged husband is not involved in their children's lives - including their youngest daughter Blossom, who was welcomed to the world in September 2024. 'Kiari is allowed to see my kids,' the Grammy winner emphasized. 'It is not one day that he's not allowed to see my kids. He stood up my kids three times. He has seen Blossom only like five times, and I been trying to save your face…' She continued, 'I said you can see my kids in my house. I want my daughter to feel the love of her dad. He hasn't seen his kids since March.' Cardi B also added, 'You talk to the kids almost every single day. You call the kids almost every single day. 'I allow you to talk to the kids every single day. If I allow you to talk to the kids, why would I not allow you to see the kids?' The singer has since been romantically linked to NFL player Stefon Diggs - although he was recently caught flirting with a bikini-clad woman late last month on Memorial Day. But the couple seemingly brushed aside the incident when they were seen packing on the PDA last week at the NFL star's kids football camp in Maryland. While on the field together, the pair were spotted cozying up and also shared a sweet kiss. It came not long after exclusively learned that her ex Offset made a shock decision in their divorce proceedings - and has now requested spousal support. She also claimed that their split came after she was traumatized 'waking up each day' to stories of Offset allegedly cheating on her. The rapper explained that she also began therapy due to having 'frequent headaches' and was 'literally losing my mind.' On X Spaces, Cardi B said: 'I gave chances after chances after chances after chances. 'If I was still there [in that marriage], I was going to end up going to jail because I was going to end up killing him. Seriously, with my own bare hands, because it was getting too much.' She added, 'My baby came out five pounds because I couldn't eat because I was so depressed because of the lies and the constant drama. 'This is more than the cheating. It's just like the constant lies, the gaslighting - it was really messing with my head.' Offset has also previously accused Cardi B of cheating on him, but she said, 'I was married for seven years. I was faithful for seven years. Before that, I was engaged for three years.' The star additionally expressed to her fans, 'We did help each other with our jobs. But it's like, you're helping me, but you're destroying me at the same time. You gotta go. You become a liability to my work, you gotta go.' The singer has been keeping busy and recently made an appearance at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Celebration in Los Angeles. She was honored with the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award and wowed in a snakeskin-patterned dress with a plunging neckline on the front. Her dark locks were parted in the middle and flowed down straight past her shoulders. For a final touch, she added large earrings as well as flashy rings on each of her hands.
