EastEnders viewers in shock as BBC soap airs crude joke pre-watershed

Daily Mirror15-07-2025
EastEnders fans were left in shock during tonight's episode as Oscar Branning made an explicit joke during his second episode, which aired pre-watershed on BBC One
EastEnders fans were left 'in hysterics' during tonight's episode as Oscar Branning made a crude joke. Oscar has already become a huge hit with fans after he returned to the Square - as actor Pierre Moullier made his debut.

Fans were left in stitches from the moment Oscar came onscreen during last night's EastEnders - as his sister Lauren Branning went to pick him up from the youth detention centre. Oscar was previously living with his mum Tanya, although fans learnt she'd kicked him out after getting in trouble for stealing a car.

Oscar wasted no time getting up to mischief, flirting with his brother-in-law Peter Beale and taunting Ian as soon as he was released. During tonight's double bill, he went one step further, trying to make a claim in Ian's chippy.

As Stacey Slater watched on and observed, Oscar threw a chip on the floor, and proceeded to pretend to slip and break his shoulder. His Uncle Jack came running in and Ian agreed to settle the incident with cash instead of getting insurers involved. However, it later became clear to Ian that Oscar had set the whole thing up - as he demanded his money back.
While on the floor pretending to be in pain with a broken arm, Oscar of course managed to slip in a few jokes. One of which had viewers in hysterics.

"This is my dominate arm Uncle Jack, how am I supposed to reintegrate back into society as a functioning human like this?" Oscar exclaimed, as Ian responded in disbelief: "He's milking it!"
"I can't milk it Brian, that's sort of the point," Oscar responded - as many fans picked up on the explicit joke.

Taking to Reddit one fan penned: "Was that a masturbation gag? At 6am, on a school day!" Another responded: "Got a proper belly laugh out of me. He's such a terror, I love it!"
A third penned: "Oscar on his faked arm injury; 'I can't milk 'it' bro, that's sorta the point!' Eeewww, but Oscar, you're already a lege!"
Days before Oscar's return, the BBC soap announced the highly anticipated return of his father Max Branning, played by Jake Wood. Max left the soap in 2021, and fans have been eagerly awaiting his return ever since.

Speaking on coming back to Albert Square, Jake said: 'I'm over the moon to be coming home to Walford. Max has got lots of unresolved drama with many characters, so I'm sure he'll be busy.
'I'm excited to see what he's been up to, and what is next for the character, but if his last 15 years in the Square are anything to go by, I'm sure there will be plenty of chaos.'Max will return briefly in autumn, before making a permanent return later in the year.

EastEnders' Patrick terrified with anxiety as he's released from hospital

EastEnders icon traumatised following shocking attack in his own home. EastEnders legend Patrick Trueman is left visibly shaken and deeply traumatised this week as he returns home from hospital following a brutal and unexpected attack that has left him riddled with anxiety. Patrick, played by the legendary Rudolph Walker, is clearly traumatised after being attacked in his own home. The once-cheerful, confident cornerstone of Albert Square now struggles to feel safe in the place he's always called home. It all starts when Patrick and Howie place a risky bet behind Yolande's back. The gamble pays off, and they walk away with £6,000, but the victory is short-lived. Yolande is furious when she finds out and calls off their wedding, leaving the household tense. While the family drown their sorrows at The Vic, trouble is quietly brewing at home. Oscar, desperate and foolish, breaks into No.20 to steal the winnings. But when Patrick unexpectedly catches him in the act, Oscar panics. In a split-second decision that would change everything, he shoves Patrick, who falls and hits the ground hard, leaving him unconscious and alone. Oscar, attempting to flee, is stopped in his tracks when Howie returns home to a nightmare. Oscar hides until he decides to make a run for it. Howie spots a figure fleeing, but can't make out who it is. Moments later, Kim and Denise walk in and find Patrick lying motionless on the floor. Panic sets in fast. Yolande and the family then rush to the hospital, where they wait helplessly for news, riddled with guilt and fear. For Yolande, the sight of Patrick fighting for his life is devastating. Their argument over the bet seemed suddenly meaningless as she fears she might lose the man she loves. Howie blames himself, while Kim and Denise are left reeling. More Trending But outside the hospital walls, suspicions were rising. Lauren begins to notice Oscar's strange and sketchy behaviour. When she confronts him, her worst fears are confirmed: Oscar has stolen Patrick's money and must be behind the attack. Patrick is released from the hospital, and with Yolande and Howie by his side, he returns home. But the attack has shaken him and knocked his confidence. Destination X airs shock double exit as three axed players return in show twist

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DESTINATION X aired a shock double exit tonight - as three axed players returned in a major show twist. The BBC programme sees a group of strangers try to figure out where they are in Europe through a series of clues in a bid to win £100,000. At one point, the group took a train through a scenic forest, with a challenge allowing one team to get further clues as to where they were. They then returned to the bus and hit the road once again, failing to realise that they hadn't actually gained any ground until they found themselves back at the same train station the next day. Host Rob Brydon had a further surprise in store for them, by bringing out Ashvin, Claire and Chloe-Anne. Viewers will remember that the three players had failed to make it on to the bus in episode one, but had now returned for a second chance to join the adventure. Rob explained that the members of the losing team from the previous task would each join forces with one of the returning players and go head to head. These were James, Ben, Darren and Nick, but the winning team - Judith, Josh and Saskia - had the chance to save one of them outright, and they chose Darren. The remaining trio then picked their teams and working together, they all had to go through a box of items for a specific destination chosen by the announcer, and find pieces that had nothing to do with that location. After two rounds, James and Ashvin were the losing team, and they then had to go head-to-head for the final spot on the bus. In the end, Ashvin picked the right items, meaning James had to leave there and then. Fans stunned as THREE Destination X contestants are immediately axed in brutal opening twist The news left the rest of the team - in particular Saskia - shocked, and James was in tears as he said goodbye. But that wasn't the end of the departures, as the players still had to lock in where they thought this week's final destination was, with the person furthest away being sent packing as well. Having seen the clues, the winning team were convinced it was Munich in Germany, but had decided to try and throw the losing team off by suggesting it was Dortmund. After everyone had locked in their locations, Rob revealed the sad news that Ben had been the furthest from the destination - which was Munich - and that he would be leaving the bus immediately. Destination X continues tomorrow night at 9pm on BBC One. 4 It wasn't a very happy reunion Credit: BBC
