Kelly Osbourne pays tribute to 'best friend' after dad Ozzy's death

Daily Recorda day ago
Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence two days after the death of her father, Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who died on Tuesday July 22 at the age of 76.
Kelly Osbourne has spoken out following the heartrending loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this week.

The Black Sabbath icon, affectionately dubbed The Prince of Darkness by legions of fans, had faced health challenges in recent years and performed his last concert mere weeks before his passing. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday July 22, leaving behind a bereft Sharon who is mourning not just her husband but also her best friend.

Ozzy's sisters have expressed their sorrow, remembering him as "loving and funny", reports the Mirror.

The Osbourne family released a poignant statement: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

His former bandmates from Black Sabbath have shared touching tributes as well. Two days after the news of Ozzy's death at 76, Kelly posted an excerpt from the Black Sabbath track "Changes" to her Instagram Stories, a moving homage that echoes a cherished memory between father and daughter.
"Changes," penned by Ozzy Osbourne and his bandmates, was originally released by Black Sabbath in 1972. In a touching father-daughter collaboration, Ozzy and Kelly re-recorded the song with updated lyrics in 2003, reflecting their relationship.
The duet soared to No. 1 in the UK charts, making them only the second father-daughter duo to achieve this feat since Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967. Kelly recently took to Instagram to express her profound sorrow, posting: "I feel unhappy I am so sad," on Thursday, July 24. "I lost the best friend I ever had."

Devastated fans have been paying their respects at his Buckinghamshire residence, leaving flowers and heartfelt notes at the gates. Mourners have also placed half-finished pints and beer bottles by candles on Birmingham's Black Sabbath bridge as a tribute to the rock legend.
A confidant disclosed to People magazine details of Ozzy's final days, stating, "Ozzy's final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace."

In 2020, Ozzy Osbourne revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis and credited his daughter Kelly for her support during his health struggles.
Reflecting on the period following his diagnosis, Kelly remarked: "We just kept going everyday and the magic that happens, I think, when you're in pain ..." Ozzy, gesturing towards his youngest daughter, interjected: "She's the one! If it wasn't for her I'd be still lying up on the couch."
Kelly remarked: "The only thing I know when it comes to my dad is what can I do to make him smile and I know that going to the studio makes him happy. So I got him up and got him to the studio, and that's all I did. Everything else was him."

Major music festival with A-list headliners cancelled at the last minute

Connecticut's popular Soundside Music Festival has abruptly been cancelled, two months before its headliners were set to take the stage. The two-day event – which was set to return to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 27 and 28 – has been axed due to 'circumstances beyond our control', organisers have said. The headliners slated for the event were The Killers, Weezer, Hozier and Vampire Weekend, with Japanese Breakfast, Remi Wolf, Alex Warren and The Last Dinner Party also included in the line-up. But now a brief message on the festival's website has announced: 'Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. 'Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank's processing time.' The festival organisers have not provided any further specifics on why the event will not be going ahead. The official Soundside Music Festival social media accounts were taken down following the announcement, including its Instagram and Facebook pages, which had over 52,000 combined followers. General admission for a single-day ticket to the festival started at $170 (£127), according to the Soundside Music Festival's now-deleted ticket page. This comes after the Foo Fighters cancelled their performance at the festival last year, following on from lead singer Dave Grohl's admission that he cheated on his wife and fathered a child with another person. The gig was slated for September 29, 2024, but was pulled without an explanation in an Instagram post which had its comments promptly switched off. The announcement came after the rock band had been shaken by controversy just weeks earlier, as Dave, 56, shared a statement to social media in which he admitted he was the father to a new baby daughter born outside his marriage. More Trending To the shock of fans, the frontman – who has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003 – shared on Instagram: 'I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. 'I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. 'We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.' Got a story? Brooklyn Beckham makes defiant trip to UK with wife Nicola as family jet abroad

The ongoing feud between Brooklyn Beckham and the rest of his family has been a source of speculation among fans for months, but the 26-year-old and his wife remain defiant with a trip to England Amid the fallout of a ongoing family feud, the formerly tight-knit Beckhams are in tatters, with estranged son Brooklyn remaining defiant as he posts England holiday photos with his wife Nicola Peltz. But while the couple are soaking up the English countryside, the rest of the Beckhams are in the south of France, holidaying as family. ‌ Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola, 30, looked every inch the loved-up couple during their trip to the UK, as they took a leisurely stroll through a picturesque garden. They can be seen enjoying some peaceful time away from the city as they wandered through the grounds. ‌ Nicola took a candid photo of her husband by a quaint garden well, while they both opted for casual outfits for their trip. One sweet photo shows Brooklyn kissing Nicola as they pose in front of a mirror. ‌ While Brooklyn and Nicola made their way to the UK, the rest of the Beckhams jetted off to France. Romeo Beckham, 22, and his sister Harper, 14, stepped out for a quiet dinner in St Tropez on Friday night. In an ironic turn of events, their estranged brother and his wife had been spotted out in the same place just last week. But despite the apparent radio silence between Brooklyn and his parents, he and Nicola did reach out to Harper recently. ‌ To mark the teen's birthday at the start of July, he posted a photo of himself and Nicola, alongside his little sister on Instagram. Writing on the Stories post, he said: "Happy birthday harper we love u x," and tagged his wife. Actress and socialite Nicola, 30, reshared the post on her own Story. Brooklyn was 12 when his youngest sibling was born. ‌ He and Harper have been close over the years, but there was said to be tension from those close to the family who were worried he wouldn't reach out at all amid the family feud. Sources shared their concerns after Brooklyn and Nicola failed to see Harper when they visited London in May to film an advert. The location for the shoot was just over a mile from the family home. The fears came after Brooklyn had been absent from a number of other recent family milestones. After failing to attend any of dad David's 50th celebrations, he also publicly blanked the former footballer's proud moment as it was announced he was being knighted. Brooklyn's younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz, also wished their sister a happy birthday on social media, alongside her parents David and Victoria. Brooklyn did wish David's mum Sandra happy birthday, despite ignoring both of his parents' big days. However, he didn't do the same for Victoria's dad Tony back in May. ‌ Earlier this month, Nicola Peltz, 30, hit back at claims she is "controlling" husband Brooklyn after posting photos from a party with some friends. While some fans commented to share well wishes over the occasion, others criticised Nicola and Brooklyn. One included the suggestion that Nicola is to blame for the rumoured rift between her husband and his parents. Jumping to Nicola's defence, some fans replied to the comments on the post, which included photos of Brooklyn beside Nelson. One comment, in which it was suggested that Brooklyn can make his own decisions, was liked by Nicola.

Outlander's Caitriona Balfe says 'I never thought we would have to say goodbye' in emotional post

Outlander will come to an end with the eighth and final series in 2026 Outlander season eight has been confirmed to air in "early 2026" as Starz made an announcement on Instagram. ‌ Reacting to the teaser trailer which highlights how far Claire and Jamie Fraser have come since they first met in season one, Caitriona penned an emotional message. ‌ Sharing the poster for the final series on her Instagram story, Caitriona posted: "Wow. I never thought we be so lucky to get this far... and now that we have I never thought we would have to say goodbye... what a journey... what a story. ‌ "Thank you to Diana, the fans, our crew, fellow cast and our writers and producers... everyone at Sony and Starz... here is our final poster." The teaser for season eight will no doubt satisfy fans as it recaps the most important moments from Claire and Jamie's love story. ‌ Claire can be heard narrating: "Time is marked and measured in different ways. Nothing can stand against time. Not mountains, not armies." Jamie then replies: "Time doesn't matter, Sassenach… To see those years touch you gives me joy, for it means that you live." ‌ The title for the teaser reads: "Every promise, every sacrifice, every moment has led to this." However, one detail that will no doubt have caught the attention of fans is Jamie's declaration he will soon die. In the two and a half minute clip, he tells Claire he has read her late husband Frank Randall's book and it reveal war is coming in the backcountry. ‌ In a further blow, he reveals: "War is coming to the backcountry and that James Fraser dies in it." Fans will know from the novel, Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone, that Frank's book was posthumously and details the Battle of King's Mountain. ‌ Jamie and Claire had previously been reported to have died in a fire but it turned out to be a mistake. Fans will be hoping Frank's book also holds a mistake and Jamie will survive with Claire. Reacting to the teaser, one fan posted: "Can't believe THAT scene is coming to our screens in 2026… God, Claire Fraser help us all." Another added: "They better get their happily ever after or so help me God," as a third penned: "I don't think I took a single breath while watching this reel. I can't believe this is really coming to an end."
