Ricky Hatton 'to come out of retirement' after 13 years for December bout
British boxing icon Ricky Hatton will reportedly come out of retirement for a bout in Dubai later this year. It is claimed the former two-weight world champion will take on Dubai's first-ever professional boxer Eisa Al Dah on December 2.
Hatton, 46, has not fought professionally since taking on Vyachslav Senchenko in Manchester in 2012, three and a half years after he had hung up his gloves following a defeat by Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.
The Hitman was stopped in the ninth round by Senchenko and said afterwards: "I needed one more fight to see if I had still got it – and I haven't. I found out tonight it isn't there no more."
But, 13 years on, he will step back into the ring, report The Sun. Hatton was in Cardiff to watch fellow Mancunian legends Oasis make their long-awaited comeback after 16 years on Friday night.
And having been walked to the ring by Noel and Liam at the height of his boxing career, he will now seemingly embark on a similar return.
Hatton was reportedly due to fly to Dubai this week to launch the fight at a press conference, only to be scuppered by an eye injury suffered at the Oasis gig.
Hatton is one of Britain's most popular ever fighters, becoming renowned for taking huge swathes of support over to Las Vegas for huge fights against the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Paulie Malignaggi and Pacquiao.
The Brit had a perfect 43-0 record before he took on Mayweather at the MGM Grand in 2007, which was billed as one of the biggest fights in boxing history.
As impressive on the mic as in the ring, Hatton trash talked Mayweather in the build-up to the fight but could not claim victory on the night, being stopped in the 10th round by the pound-for-pound king.
Wins over Juan Lazcano and Malignaggi followed, but Hatton was brutally knocked out by Pacquiao in May 2009 in the second round on what was, for all intents and purposes, his boxing farewell.
But a homecoming at the Manchester Arena followed against Senchenko in November 2012 before an un-scored exhibition bout against Marco Antonio Barrera in 2022.

Is Vicky Pattison Going On Strictly Come Dancing? All The Rumours So Far
Summer might have only just arrived, but Strictly fans already have their minds set on who could be competing for the glitter ball trophy this autumn. One rumoured contestant thought to be joining the line-up is Vicky Pattison. The TV personality is thought to have attracted the attention of the show's producers when she supported Pete Wicks from the audience during last year's series. The bosses were said to be so impressed that they now want to make her part of the next line-up. A source told The Sun: 'Vicky loved watching Pete on the series and was in awe of the detail that goes into every performance. She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers. Vicky's done plenty of reality shows but is ready to be out of her comfort zone on the dance floor.' Vicky originally rose to fame on Geordie Shore, where she became well loved for her outspoken personality and dramatic romances. In 2015, Vicky took part in I'm A Celebrity, where she was crowned Queen Of The Jungle. In a 2022 interview with The Metro, Vicky opened up about how her time in the jungle changed her. 'My time spent in I'm A Celeb was completely pivotal for me, not just professionally, I'll never be able to express how grateful I am,' she told the outlet. 'Personally, it allowed us to see the person I could be, you know? When everyone tells you you're a certain thing – drunk, loud, aggressive – you hear these things enough to start to believe them and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I was becoming a very lost, sad caricature. It was really nice and I'll always be grateful and always be a little bit jealous when everyone else gets to go.' Alongside her TV credentials, Vicky has been outspoken about her battle with [Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder {href=' }), a debilitating condition which causes severe emotional and physical symptoms in the weeks leading up to a period. This isn't the first time that Vicky has been linked to Strictly. In an interview with The Sun last year, Vicky addressed the possibility of her taking part in the show. 'Like when I found out Pete was doing it, the first thing I did was ring him and see if he was OK. Because me and him are more like stand in the corner, drink and have a laugh than you know, centre of the dance floor people. And he was saying he was really nervous, and I think that's how I'll be,' she said. She continued 'But sometimes, I just like my comfort zone and especially now I'm about to get married and everything like, I don't know, I don't know if I ever would. I don't know if it's for me, but like never say never.' As for the other Strictly line up rumours, it's also been reported that bosses are eyeing up Queen Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles, Georgia Toffolo and The Apprentice's Thomas Skinner for the show. Another rumoured star set to be taking part is Stacey Solomon, who hasn't ruled out the glitter ball before. She previously told the Metro: 'I would never say never but I am a terrible dancer, an absolutely terrible dancer! I don't know why but I have no rhythm when it comes to movement. I have rhythm with singing or listening to music but when it comes to moving my feet I am left-footed, I have two left feet!,' adding 'But I am obsessed with it, I'm obsessed with the costumes. And also I would love to learn a new skill like that. I love learning anything to be honest.'

A TV insider tells The Sun: "Bosses in the US have approached Casey's team as they are keen for him to take part in the upcoming second season of Love Island Games. "They always take people from international versions of the show, and they think Casey would be perfect as he's done the UK version three times so he's a very familiar face. "He's also recently split from Gabby Allen, so now is the ideal time for him to do it as Casey rarely stays single for long." The Sun has contacted a representative for Casey for comment. Back in May The Sun revealed the couple had called time on their romance three months after winning Love Island's spin-off show All Stars. They then said in a joint statement: "After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. "This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other." Gabby added: "Gabby is grateful for the memories they've created together and wishes Casey nothing but the best as they both move forward on their individual journeys. She's excited for what the future holds." At the time, a source told The Sun: "Both have confided in quite a few friends about this and so it's not really a secret in their circles, but they've made the decision to part ways this week." Axed Love Island star Alima reveals hidden romance with another Islander They added: "They had a really good relationship and enjoyed each others' time but the reality is that they are focusing on different things and they both have realised that. "Neither of them have parted ways badly but they just knew it wasn't going to work anymore." Gabby appeared on Love Island: After Sun recently, where she briefly spoke about her split from Casey. The blonde beauty appeared on the show, which is hosted by Maya Jama, with her All Stars pal Kaz Crossley. Casey O'Gorman's love interests Lea Broc – Casey dated Lea for three years up until 2022. It was later claimed that he had cheated on the French influencer. Claudia Forgarty – Casey was coupled up with Claudia on the show in 2023 but ditched her when a new bombshell arrived. Rosie Seabrook – Casey left the villa with Rosie and they briefly dated in the real world before calling it quits. Georgia Harrison – The hunk had a fling with Georgia before his second stint on the show. It ended badly between them when she famously told him she had seen his late grandfather. Joanna Chimonides – Casey was briefly couple up with on All Stars series one. Kaz Kamwi – Kaz was another short lived romance on All Stars. Eve Gale - Casey ended up leaving the villa with Eve but there romance was also not to last. Tina Stinnes – Casey and Tina slept together when they appeared on Made In Chelsea together. When host Maya spoke to the stunning former Islanders, Gabby got grilled about her split from Casey. Maya chatted to the girls, turned to Gabby and said: "Gabby, what happened with you and Casey?" "How long have we got?" Gabby joked. She then said: "You know what, not really that much to report." Gabby noted how she and Casey were at "very different stages in our lives". Kaz then interjected when she said: "Casey he's a lovely boy, but emphasis on boy," seemingly throwing shade at her pal's ex. "I love Gabby, but a relationship, you just need a bit more depth. "We're looking for our husbands," she concluded. 5 Casey struck up a romance with Gabby Allen while in the All Stars villa Credit: Rex

Lisa Nandy aide 'drafted note saying BBC is institutionally antisemitic'
Nandy is due to meet with Israeli ambassador to the UK Tzipi Hotovely at an unconfirmed date and was advised by a policy officer to make the claim against the BBC. But a source at the Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport told The National that this was dropped and the Culture Secretary would not brand the BBC 'antisemitic' at her meeting with the ambassador. They said: 'It was an initial draft.' READ MORE: How the UK media are covering up British spy flights for Israel It comes after independent journalist Matt Kennard revealed that briefing notes for the meeting had also advised the Culture Secretary to tell Hotovely that 'one mistake is an editing error but if you have multiple mistakes you need to look at the leadership'. The BBC found itself under fire from the upper echelons of the UK Government after broadcasting punk band Bob Vylan (below) leading at chant at Glastonbury which called for 'death to the [Israeli Defence Forces]'. (Image: Yui Mok) Kennard also reported that Nandy was also advised to tell the Israeli ambassador that 'Glastonbury continues to host acts with vile and inflammatory views' and more investigation was needed. The Bob Vylan chant was denounced as 'antisemitic' by Nandy, who last week told MPs: 'There is a clear difference between speaking out for Palestine, which is the right of everybody in this house and everybody in our country, and antisemitism, which is not and never will be. 'When the rights and safety of people and communities are at risk and when our national broadcaster fails to uphold its own standards, we will intervene.' READ MORE: Tony Blair's staff took part in 'Gaza Riviera' project, reports say She has discussed the matter with BBC director-general Tim Davie and demanded an explanation as to why the segment was broadcast. Nandy said last week: 'When you have one editorial failure, it's something that must be gripped. When you have several, it becomes a problem of leadership.' Bob Vylan's comments were reported to the police, with Avon and Somerset Police confirming footage would be "assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed". The band had their US visas revoked ahead of a tour of the country and the BBC later announced it would no longer broadcast "high risk" live performances.
