Born in Mumbai into a Gujarati family, Paresh always dreamt of becoming an actor. His love for acting and theatre not only shaped his career but also helped him meet the love of his life,
.
A theatre festival that changed his life
Swaroop Sampat met Paresh at an Indian National Theatre festival. She had just finished school and was handing out brochures at the event. Her father was the chief producer at the time. Paresh and his college friends were performing a play at the same event.
The moment he saw Swaroop, he knew she was the one. In fact, he told his friend Mahendra Joshi then and there that he was going to marry her.
Even when Mahendra warned him that Swaroop was their boss' daughter, Paresh didn't back off. In a past interview with Bollywood Bubble he said, 'I was kind of 'Yeh ladki meri wife banegi'. My friend Mahendra Joshi was with me. He told me, 'Tujhe pata hai tu jis company mein kaam kar raha hai us boss ki beti hai woh'.
Toh maine bola, 'Kisi ki bhi beti ho, behen ho, ma ho, main iske saath shaadi karunga'.'
A bold proposal and a clear mind
Paresh and Swaroop shared a love for theatre and acting, which brought them closer. While Swaroop was impressed by Paresh's talent on stage, Paresh couldn't take his eyes off her beauty. After a few months of dating, Paresh proposed to her in a very honest and straightforward way. Recalling his proposal, Paresh shared, 'After 2-3 months, I told her, 'I want to marry you but don't tell me 'let's get to know each other, let's grow together'.

Marte dum tak koi kisiko nahi jaan sakta. Toh mere saath woh futile exercise mat karo. Commit yourself. But we got married after 12 years.'
12 years of waiting and love
Even though Paresh proposed in 1975, the couple didn't get married until 1987 — a whole 12 years later. The reason? Paresh wanted to focus on building his career before taking on the responsibility of marriage.
Swaroop, too, was clear about her own values. She didn't want to elope as she was the only daughter in her family, born after many years.
She wanted her parents to be part of her big day.
In an interview with The Free Press Journal, Swaroop shared that Paresh was always sure about marrying her. Since they were both Gujaratis, their families had no objections. Once Paresh's career was settled, the couple tied the knot in a simple and intimate ceremony, marking the start of their lifelong journey.
A happy ending with no family drama
Since both Paresh and Swaroop were Gujarati, their families had no issues with the relationship. Once Paresh's career was stable, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 1987. They went on to have two sons —
and Aniruddh Rawal — and have lived a peaceful and loving life ever since. Their story shows that true love can wait, and sometimes, even a dramatic declaration like 'Yeh ladki meri wife banegi' can come true with time, trust, and patience.

Chunky Panday reveals he was once paid to attend a funeral: 'There was no source of income at the time'

Chunky Panday revealed he was once paid to attend a funeral, mistakenly thinking it was a regular event. The organiser told him, 'Agar aap royenge na, toh thoda zyada paisa milega' (If you cry, you will be paid more). Another actor cried and earned ₹50,000 extra. Chunky Panday recently appeared in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 5, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar , Riteish Deshmukh , Abhishek Bachchan , Nana Patekar among others. He is also seen in the film 'Detective Sherdil', sharing the screen with Boman Irani , Ratna Pathak Shah, and Diljit Dosanjh. The story centers on the themes of ambition and the lust for power and wealth. Recently, in an interview, Chunky amusingly told how he once attended a funeral solely to make some extra cash. Early Career Struggles and Misunderstanding In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Chunky reflected on a memorable experience from earlier in his career. He admitted, 'That was my mistake. Yes, I attended the funeral, but not out of choice. See, in those days, there was no source of income for actors besides going to events or doing movies. There was no YouTube, Instagram, or even ads at that time, as it was a different era." He revealed that an event organiser once invited him to attend a brief event, asking him to wear white, which he assumed was simply the dress code. However, when he arrived, he realized it was actually a funeral, and the crowd was surprised to see him there. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The Funeral Incident and Payment Offer The actor shared a surprising experience from the event, recalling, 'I suddenly saw a dead body in front of me and thought the organiser had passed away.' He soon learned that he was actually there for a funeral. Feeling unable to react in such a solemn moment, the organiser joked, 'Agar aap royenge na, toh thoda zyada paisa milega'. Since Chunky isn't very emotional, he chose not to cry to avoid bursting into laughter. However, another actor at the funeral cried extensively and reportedly received an additional ₹50,000 for it. About 'Detective Sherdil' 'Detective Sherdil' blends mystery with dark comedy and has been praised for its engaging plot and Diljit's fresh portrayal of a detective character. The ensemble cast also includes Sumeet Vyas , Banita Sandhu, and Kashmira Irani.

In a post shared late Wednesday night, Jamie reminisced about their 'mind-blowing' experiences, calling their time in India a 'magical experience' as he reflected on their journey. 'It's our last night in India,' he wrote, tagging their stay at The House of MG, a heritage hotel in Ahmedabad. 'This hotel,' he captioned a glimpse of the property. Jamie, who is also the director of The Wellness Foundry, a London-based centre for tarot and spiritual wellness, said spending their last night at the hotel and enjoying a traditional Gujarati thali was 'a perfect way to round up the trip'. 'There's been too much... It would be so nice to remember this and share it with everybody because we really have been on quite a journey,' he said in one of the stories. 'We've just had the most delicious thali food. It was a perfect way to round up the trip. So yeah, excited to share it all with you actually.' In another video, Fiongal added: 'So it's our last night in India. Uh and we've had a magical experience really. It's been, yeah, there's been some quiet mind blowing... mind blowing things have happened... we are going to put this all together and create a vlog. I think it's my first ever vlog... we're going to make a vlog about the whole trip. Yeah and share it.' On Thursday morning, just before boarding Air India flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, Jamie posted a final story: 'Goodbye India...' In a video recorded at the airport, the couple joked about their journey: Fiongal said, 'We are at the airport, just boarding. Goodbye India.' Jamie replied, 'Goodbye. It's a 10-hour flight back to England.' Fiongal then asked, 'What is your biggest takeaway, Jamie?' Jamie responded, 'I've done this already.' Fiongal insisted, 'On a different thing.' Jamie replied, 'What's my biggest takeaway... I don't know.' Fiongal quipped, 'Yeah, fascinating, great. Thanks for your contribution (laughs). My biggest takeaway is don't lose patience with your partner.' Jamie added, 'You're already starting to. You've already while we're having chai at the airport. You can see you've learnt nothing.' Fiongal concluded with a smile, 'Going back happily, happily, happily calm.'
