Nebraska offers a top Alabama playmaker
Nebraska football offered 2027 four-star edge defender Jabarrius Garror on Tuesday. He made the announcement on social media.
Garror is the eighth overall edge defender in the 2027 class, and the third overall player in his class from the state of Alabama per the On3 recruiting rankings. He committed to the Crimson Tide on July 31, 2024.
The last couple of months have seen the Auburn Tigers and Crimson Tide really make a push for the linebacker. He has visited Alabama four times, all for unofficial visits. He most recently did so on March 27. He took a visit to Auburn on January 25.
He was a playmaking linebacker as a sophomore last season. He recorded 104 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, and five pass deflections, according to statistics from MaxPreps.com.
The Huskers could benefit from a playmaking edge defender like Garror. They have visits set up with several impact playmakers in the 2027 class, and he would definitely be a strong addition to a defense that is young but talented.

The hype around Florida football quarterback DJ Lagway just keeps building. The sophomore was officially named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch list, joining 101 other college football players as early contenders for one of the sport's top honors. Lagway threw for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns, completing nearly 60 percent of his passes while adding 101 rushing yards. He also tied Chris Leak's program record for most wins by a true freshman quarterback and led all FBS true freshmen with a 154.9 passer rating. Those numbers, combined with his leadership, have Gator Nation buzzing about what's to come this season. The Fighting Irish continue to be preseason darlings The plaudits continue to roll in for Notre Dame. With the Fighting Irish looking to not only return to the national championship game but win it, the coaching staff has been garnering praise for its recruiting class and for putting together a team that looks, on paper, ready to be as strong or better than last year. In other words, it appears 2024 wasn't a "lightning in a bottle" one-off. Add ESPN's Marty Smith to the list, as he praised Notre Dame -- and, specifically, head coach Marcus Freeman for building the team's culture. A good culture is obviously something that can help a team win, and we saw that with the Irish last year. But given the final result, perhaps Notre Dame can use that culture to take the final step and bring home a title. Alabama football reveals team captains for 2025 season
The Alabama Crimson Tide have officially revealed the program's team captains for the 2025 season. Announced on Thursday via the university's NIL entity, Yea Alabama, the Crimson Tide have four team captains for the 2025 season, with two coming on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Those captains are quarterback Ty Simpson, center Parker Brailsford, defensive tackle Tim Keenan III, and inside linebacker Deontae Lawson. Lawson is a returning captain for Crimson Tide, while the three others are all first-time captains in Tuscaloosa. Of the four, Keenan and Lawson are both redshirt seniors, while Simpson and Brailsford will be redshirt juniors in 2025. Each will be starting for the Crimson Tide this fall at their respective positions.
