Nebraska offers a top Alabama playmaker
Nebraska football offered 2027 four-star edge defender Jabarrius Garror on Tuesday. He made the announcement on social media.
Garror is the eighth overall edge defender in the 2027 class, and the third overall player in his class from the state of Alabama per the On3 recruiting rankings. He committed to the Crimson Tide on July 31, 2024.
The last couple of months have seen the Auburn Tigers and Crimson Tide really make a push for the linebacker. He has visited Alabama four times, all for unofficial visits. He most recently did so on March 27. He took a visit to Auburn on January 25.
He was a playmaking linebacker as a sophomore last season. He recorded 104 total tackles, 21.5 sacks, and five pass deflections, according to statistics from MaxPreps.com.
The Huskers could benefit from a playmaking edge defender like Garror. They have visits set up with several impact playmakers in the 2027 class, and he would definitely be a strong addition to a defense that is young but talented.

Elite 5-Star Recruit Names Top School After Official Visit

Elite 5-Star Recruit Names Top School After Official Visit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the college football offseason continues to roll on, many of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class are making big decisions, including offensive tackle Darius Gray out of Richmond, Virginia. Advertisement He's one player that many of the top programs are pursuing, and on Saturday, he had an official visit with the Tennessee Volunteers, marking the third time the program hosted him. Now, in an article by On3's Steve Wiltfong, it's clear the Volunteers have made a very strong impression, as Gray revealed where the SEC powerhouse sits in the recruiting process. 'They stand at the top of my board,' Gray said. 'What makes it special is the people in that building!' Tennessee Volunteers head coach Josh Paciorka/News Sentinel / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Of course, this is great news for Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel, as On3 Industry Rankings list Gray as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 interior offensive lineman, the No. 2 player in Virginia and the No. 23 player in the nation. Advertisement However, that was also far from his first official visit, as he's already been hosted by Virginia Tech (April 11), Virginia (April 25), Georgia (May 17) and Clemson (May 30). To make things even more competitive, he also has more visits scheduled with Auburn (June 10), Ohio State (June 11), LSU (June 14), Penn State (June 17) and South Carolina (June 20), so Gray certainly has many options. There's no doubt Tennessee would love to come out on top, though, as Gray could be a huge addition to its 2026 recruiting class, which holds eight commitments, ranking No. 4 in the SEC and No. 11 in the nation, per On3. Iowa football hires former NFL exec as revenue sharing arrives

Iowa football hires former NFL exec as revenue sharing arrives Iowa hired former Chiefs GM/Patriots executive Scott Pioli as preparation for revenue sharing and will continue to work with all of Iowa's programs. Pioli has been at Iowa's football practices previously and is close with football coach Kirk Ferentz. — Scott Dochterman (@ScottDochterman) June 9, 2025 The world of college sports has officially changed, and in a hugely seismic way. The era of revenue sharing, where schools can directly pay players, is upon us and will change the way that college sports look moving forward. Schools can be accepting of this or get left behind. The Iowa Hawkeyes are ahead of the curve and are making moves to position themselves for success in this new world. The Hawkeyes have dug into the NFL world of executives with an understanding of operating in this world. To help their athletic programs, Iowa has hired Scott Pioli, the former Kansas City Chiefs general manager and New England Patriots executive, to prepare for revenue sharing, as reported by Scott Dochterman of The Athletic. The move brings Pioli into the fold with Iowa football head coach Kirk Ferentz, with whom he is close. Piolo joins Iowa after most recently being the Atlanta Falcons' assistant general manager from 2014-2019. Scott Pioli brings a mountain of experience in his career, as he has been in the NFL since 1992 in a multitude of roles, from scouting to player personnel to the front office. Before that, Pioli coached in college from 1988 to 1991 with stops at Syracuse and Murray State. A three-time Super Bowl champion in the NFL, Scott Pioli has been named the PWFA Executive of the Year three times (2003, 2007, 2010) and the Sporting News NFL Executive of the Year twice (2003, 2004).
