BTS has released its first group album in three years, Permission To Dance On Stage — Live, returning for the first time post-enlistment with a live album of the K-pop stars' sold-out tour of the same name.
The nearly hour-and-20-minute-long album features 22 songs from the supergroup's 2021 tour, which consisted of 12 shows across Seoul, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The group originally launched the tour as an online concert, due to COVID-19 restrictions, before expanding into an in-person experience as restrictions lifted. The tour, according to a release, amassed 4 million attendees across in-person, live-viewing (real-time broadcasts of the show held at nearby venues; YouTube Theater in L.A. and the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas) and online livestreaming.

Permission To Dance On Stage — Live features BTS mainstays like 'DNA,' 'Idol,' 'Fake Love' and 'Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),' along with fan favorites like 'Black Swan,' 'Spring Day,' 'Airplane pt. 2' and 'Silver Spoon.' The album, of course, features the trio of English songs the group has released — 'Dynamite,' 'Butter' and 'Permission to Dance.' Fans who purchase the album also receive a digital code for a live recording of the group's Seoul concert.
Earlier this month, the seven-member group, in their first group broadcast in nearly three years, took to the Hybe-owned Weverse fan platform for a livestream, where they laid out the plan for their post-military enlistment future. BTS told fans that they're all heading to the U.S. to begin working on new music that is currently slated for a spring 2026 release. During the broadcast, the supergroup also announced plans for a world tour next year, their first since Permission to Dance on Stage.
'We'll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas,' the group said in a statement. 'We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.'
Until 2026, BTS members are seemingly continuing previously planned solo work, including eldest member Jin, whose solo tour kicked off with two nights at Anaheim's Honda Center Thursday (July 17). J-Hope, who recently wrapped his own solo tour, headlined Lollapalooza Berlin last weekend (July 13).
All members of BTS reunited for the first time since 2022 last month at J-Hope's solo concert finale in Goyang, South Korea. The reunion marked the end of a busy week for the group as members RM, V, Jimin and Jung Kook were discharged from their mandatory military service earlier that week, joining teh already released J-Hope and Jin. Suga completed his mandatory military service as social work personnel that following week, signaling the official return-to-active status for the group.
BTS fans have long awaited their return, although each member of the group found success with their solo work released throughout the two-year enlistment period. BTS' recent livestream, their first since September 2022, bagged over 7.3 million real-time total views, according to a release.

George Lucas Makes Comic-Con Debut Unveiling First Look at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art: ‘This Museum Is a Temple' to Artists

After breaking ground in 2018, Hall H got its first look at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art before it's set to open its futuristic doors in 2026. With a personal collection from George Lucas's 50-year art archive, the museum is set to feature artwork and never-before-seen pieces from Norman Rockwell, Frida Kahlo, Jessie Willcox Smith and more. The panel was moderated by Queen Latifah, with Guillermo del Toro and Doug Chiang as panelists. It's been a long time coming for the Lucas Museum since it was first announced. In 2016, the museum was initially set to begin construction in Chicago near Lake Michigan. After a Chicago-based organization named 'Friends of the Parks' filed a lawsuit over the construction on private land, the museum selected Los Angeles as its official building site near Exposition Park. 'Art is more about an emotional connection. Not how much it cost, or what celebrity made it. If you have an emotional connection, then it's art. I've worked with hundreds of illustrators in my life, and they're all brilliant, but they don't get recognized for anything. This museum is a temple to the people.' The history of LucasFilm at San Diego Comic-Con has existed for over 50 years, with the first 'Star Wars' having a panel during the 1976 iteration of the convention. Fans who attended the event got to see still images from 'A New Hope,' where Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin discussed artwork from 'Star Wars.' 'It's one thing that this kind of art [featured] will celebrate because of science fiction. Science fiction is a myth, but we have made it real,' revealed Lucas about the museum's science fiction artworks set to be displayed. 'Humans made it real because of science fiction books and art that makes people say, 'Oh, we could go to the moon,' and once that idea is implemented, then we believe we could do it.' "I almost missed practice a couple times" - When Magic Johnson turned a Bel-Air mansion into his own basketball-disco paradise

"I almost missed practice a couple times" - When Magic Johnson turned a Bel-Air mansion into his own basketball-disco paradise originally appeared on Basketball Network. By the mid-1980s, Magic Johnson had already conquered just about everything worth conquering. Championships, Finals MVPs, endorsement deals, you name it. But even with all the on-court success and off-court fame, he was still living in a Culver City apartment, which didn't quite align with his superstar status in the Association. All of that changed when the Los Angeles Lakers icon finally found a home that matched his off-court persona and energy: a six-bedroom, Tudor-style estate tucked deep in the hills of Bel-Air. This wasn't about flexing his money, although it definitely had some of that as well; it was about finally finding the place he could call home, no matter how cheesy it might sound. From the moment Magic stepped foot inside, he knew the search for his place under the sun was over. "We started off with this one," Johnson said in 1985 via the LA Times. "I told him, 'I don't have to look anymore, George (his attorney). This is it.' All I had to see was one room (now his disco), the racquetball court and the bathtub. Where else am I really gonna be?" "I always wanted to own a home, but I wanted it to be different. I wanted a special place," Magic Man added. "Hey, I'm blessed. I never would have imagined this. The house I grew up in back home could probably fit into the gym (racquetball court), and your imagination can only go as far as what you've seen." So perfect that it felt like a dream for Johnson The house sits at the end of a winding road, with canyon walls on both sides and nothing but open green space stretching out behind it. It's quiet. No traffic, no noise, no distractions. Just a backyard with twin grills, a red-brick pool deck (in which Magic hadn't just yet jumped in) and a whole lot of open blue sky above the City of Angels. It was perfect for enjoying the little bit of time that an NBA player of his caliber has on his hands. However, that's the kind of setup that can easily break your daily routine, and, in Johnson's case, mess up with practice schedules. "I almost missed practice a couple times," the man who orchestrated the Showtime in LA said. "I'd be out here eating breakfast. I'd be daydreaming, just kind of in a trance, and then I'd look at my watch and see I was almost late for practice." In addition to all that, inside the house, Magic had transformed one of the rooms into a disco, complete with lights and a sound system, where he could unwind and throw a few moves when the mood struck. "I don't just like music, I love it," Johnson added. "When I saw this room, I said, 'Oh, man, I know what I want to do with this .' I spend an hour or two in here every day. This is where I live." Magic didn't stop after getting his mansion That Bel-Air mansion might've been Magic's first real taste of a settled life in Los Angeles, but he didn't settle for long. After moving in, Johnson added three more championship rings to his resume: one in 1985, another in 1987 and his final one in 1988. He finally received his first, well-deserved, MVP award and added two more for good measure. Magic Man also continued to elevate the Lakers dynasty alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy to make it one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. By the time the decade was over, so was the debate about where he stood among the game's greatest point guards. Johnson had redefined the position and the trophy case did all the talking for him. Even now, 40 years later, he's still the bar that every new floor general gets measured against. The man who used to nearly miss practice while eating breakfast next to the Bel-Air hills… And no matter how many properties he's owned since, that first one still feels like the place where Magic truly felt like story was originally reported by Basketball Network on Jul 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

"I always had to protect you" - Allen Iverson confronted Shaquille O'Neal for tucking his chain in every time he was in Los Angeles

"I always had to protect you" - Allen Iverson confronted Shaquille O'Neal for tucking his chain in every time he was in Los Angeles originally appeared on Basketball Network. Fellow NBA legends Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson had an intriguing and candid conversation during a podcast session last year. The pair reminisced about a lot of things, including the early days of their friendship, specifically why O'Neal often hid Iverson's chain under his shirt whenever they linked up in Los Angeles. Years have passed, but to this day, Iverson still wonders why O'Neal had to do that. The former Philadelphia 76ers superstar grabbed the opportunity to hear it from Shaq himself in their one-on-one discussion. O'Neal didn't beat around the bush and answered right away. He told Iverson straight up that he was doing it for his safety. "Every time I went to L.A., I had my chain out and then he'll tuck it in," Iverson told O'Neal on "The Big Podcast." "He'll tuck my chain in and then, [but] I'm seeing interviews [of Shaq], I'm seeing you on TV, and what you rock? I seen the Superman Chain, man." "Yeah, but I was in the area and I knew certain people [there]," Shaq responded to A.I. "I'm just saying, I knew certain people and I ain't want you out there, you know what I'm saying? So, I always had to protect you." Shaq has always admired Allen The connection between O'Neal and Iverson was nothing short of extraordinary. Though Shaq was undoubtedly the most dominant big man during his prime, he was admittedly a huge fan of the shifty point guard, who was a much smaller player. In fact, O'Neal once confessed to letting Iverson score on him during games. According to Shaq, there were moments when he could've blocked Allen's shot, but he would let it go in because of his admiration for him. "There were guys that when we played them, I was such a fan, I let them do what they wanted on me. White Chocolate (Jason Williams), I want him to go to work. Vince Carter, A.I. (Allen Iverson) and Tracy McGrady. Every time we played A.I., I liked him crossing over and he was tough. I could've blocked his shot multiple times, I just didn't want to," O'Neal said in an interview with Bleacher Report.A.I. was like a "little Shaq" Unlike other NBA all-time greats who only became friends with each other when their careers were finally over, O'Neal and Iverson bonded at the peak of their playing years. Even back then, there was already mutual admiration and respect between them. In 2001, they faced off in the NBA Finals, but that didn't affect their friendship at all. If anything, Shaq and A.I.'s relationship has grown stronger since then. It wasn't only O'Neal who appreciated Iverson. The 2001 NBA MVP also recognized Shaq's qualities both as a player and a person. In fact, Iverson took great pride in being labeled by some fans and analysts as Baby Shaq due to his resemblance to the legendary big man in terms of being a dominant player on the court. For Iverson, O'Neal is the greatest center of all time. On the other hand, Shaq recognizes Allen as one of the fiercest competitors he has ever faced. The friendship between the two icons of the game has already endured the test of time. Ultimately, they proved that true camaraderie could still take place between two literal story was originally reported by Basketball Network on Jul 27, 2025, where it first appeared.
