Palace's appeal to compete in Europa League to be heard by CAS next month
Palace were demoted to the third-tier Conference League by UEFA's Club Financial Control Body in a multi-club ownership case, while Olympique Lyonnais will be allowed to play in the Europa League.
The Eagle Football Group are majority owners of Lyon while its chairman John Textor also owns a controlling stake in Palace. Textor later resigned from Lyon's board of directors with Michele Kang appointed chairwoman and president.
The London club appealed the decision, with the CAS now confirming it will hear the case next month.
Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League, will replace Palace in the Europa League if their appeal fails.
Palace had qualified for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup last season, while Lyon reached the competition by finishing sixth in Ligue 1. However, the French club were allowed to keep their place as they finished higher in their respective league.
No ruling is expected on the day, but a decision is anticipated on August 11.

BUDAPEST :Charles Leclerc grabbed an unexpected pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday with McLaren's Formula One leader Oscar Piastri joining the surprised Ferrari driver on the front row. It's the most unexpected, for sure." Piastri, 16 points clear of Norris in what looks like a two-horse race, was almost as surprised as the Monegasque. "I wasn't expecting to be second to a Ferrari this weekend," said the Australian, who won in Hungary last year and had been fastest in Saturday's final practice after Norris dominated Friday's sessions. McLaren had taken eight previous poles this season and qualified one-two in Hungary last time around. McLaren have also won 10 of 13 races so far but overtaking is not easy at the circuit outside Budapest and Leclerc has a real chance of Ferrari's first win of 2025 if he can stave off the McLarens. Norris felt Leclerc had risked a bit more with his final flying lap, with the wind changing towards the end of the session. "I think it's going to be an exciting race. I would expect us to have a bit more pace than Charles, so I'm looking forward to it," said the Briton. Behind the top four, Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll qualified fifth and sixth in a marked improvement for that team. Brazilian rookie Gabriel Bortoleto will line up seventh for Sauber with reigning champion Max Verstappen eighth fastest for Red Bull. Racing Bulls pair Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar rounded out the top 10 on the grid. Verstappen's teammate Yuki Tsunoda failed to make it through the first phase - dropping out after his predecessor in the Red Bull seat Lawson went faster - and will start 16th.

England fight back but India lead grows
LONDON :England picked up three key wickets in the afternoon session as India advanced to 304-6 under murky skies at tea on the third day of a fluctuating final test at The Oval on Saturday. India extended their lead to 281 runs and are still well placed to secure the victory they need to draw the series 2-2, but England fought back well after a disappointing morning. The hosts removed Shubman Gill with the first ball after lunch, the India captain trapped lbw by Gus Atkinson for 11 and failing to get the decision overturned on review. Karun Nair suffered a painful blow to his hand from the next delivery which spat up off the pitch, and suddenly England and the crowd were energised. India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, continued his patient knock and moved calmly to his sixth test century and second of the series. Harry Brook dropped Nair on 12 in the slips off Jamie Overton but the batsman had added only five more when he edged Atkinson to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith. Ben Duckett at leg slip spilled a very difficult chance to remove Jaiswal, England's sixth dropped catch in the innings, before the batter's long vigil ended on 118 when he slashed Josh Tongue to deep backward point and Overton held a good low catch. Ravindra Jadeja, so often the scourge of England with the bat in the series, survived a huge lbw appeal after getting the umpire's decision overturned and reached the interval on 26 not out with Dhruv Jurel on 25. India had dominated the morning as Jaiswal and nightwatchman Akash Deep shared a stubborn partnership of 107 against a toothless England attack missing the experience of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes due to injury. Under the floodlights, Deep reached his first test fifty off 70 balls by hitting Atkinson for his ninth boundary before gleefully pumping his fists in celebration. Overton removed Deep for 66 with a ball that lifted sharply and looped up to cover, but the England team and majority of spectators at the ground looked as gloomy as the weather as the players trudged off at the interval.
