
Two men with drug records caught in Kahang with suspected firearm
Both men tested positive for methamphetamine and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
Kluang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, said the two men, aged 22 and 32-years-old, were arrested during a crime prevention patrol by officers from the Kahang Police Station.
During a 2.30pm patrol, an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle occupied by two men and moved in to intercept it.
"The inspection uncovered an object resembling a weapon, and police checks revealed that one of the suspects had four prior records related to crime and drugs, while the other had one drug-related record."
He said both of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
The case is being investigated under Section 36 of the Firearms Act 1960.

KLUANG: Two men have been arrested after a fake firearm was found in their car in Kahang here. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said police on patrol spotted the two suspects, aged 23 and 32, behaving suspiciously at 2.30pm on Wednesday (Aug 6). Two arrested on suspicion of breaking into sundry shop at Simpang Renggam pineapple farm
KLUANG: Two local men, including a teenager, were detained for allegedly being involved in a break-in at a sundry shop at a pineapple farm in Simpang Renggam near here. The two suspects, aged 15 and 23 years old, were arrested following a police report lodged by the sundry shop owner on July 30, at 11pm. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said they were apprehended on Thursday (Aug 7) at 2am at Lorong 5, Jalan Ladang Nenas, Simpang Renggam. 'Initial investigations found they have no previous criminal record and they tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement. ACP Bahrin said the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code with the offence of lurking house-trespass or housebreaking with the intention to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment. If the intended offense is theft, the penalty can be up to 14 years of imprisonment and a fine, or canning. He said the suspects were remanded separately with the first suspect from Aug 7 to 13, while the second suspect from Aug 7 until 11, 2025.
