Meghan Markle's snappy one-word demand of Prince Harry and his one-word response
A lip-reader has decoded a snappy exchange between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they were on their royal-style tour of Colombia.
The Sussexes embarked on their trip to the South American country last year to back projects aimed at safeguarding young people from online harm, arriving hand-in-hand in Bogota to meet Vice President Francia Márquez and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo.
After their first engagement in the nation's capital, Harry and Meghan were seen on camera holding hands as they left the Vice President's office, where a lip-reader captured a quick but simple demand being exchanged by the royal couple. It's not the first time a lip-reader has witnessed an unexpected exchange between the two, as Harry was seen 'mansplaining' to Meghan on the Palace balcony.
According to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling, Meghan quietly muttered an order to Harry, saying simply, "hand", before he replied, "Here you go."
Harry and Meghan were invited to Colombia by Vice President Marquez, who led a press conference ahead of their arrival, where she revealed she was moved to invite Harry and Meghan to the country after watching their Netflix documentary series, where they spoke freely about their turbulent time as working members of the royal family.
Vice President Marquez explained: "I saw the Netflix series about their life, their story and that moved me and motivated me to say that this is a woman who deserves to come to our country and tell her story and her exchange will undoubtedly be an empowerment to so many women in the world."
Harry and Meghan's packed itinerary over the days of their non-official visit saw them visit local schools to encourage students to improve their digital literacy and promote a greater awareness of mental health.
They also "had the exceptional opportunity to engage with elders, youth and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians," as they visited a children's school, before meeting with the Colombian Invictus team.
The Sussexes trip was quickly dubbed a 'DIY royal tour', as despite having all the earmarks of an official state visit, Harry and Meghan were not acting on behalf of the Firm for their journey to South America.
Their trip to Colombia raised eyebrows from many, as Harry and Meghan were flanked by a heavy private security presence at their engagements. The intense security detail led to many asking who footed the bill for their four-day tour.
In a statement put out by the office of vice president Francia Marquez, it said: "This visit was the result of a collective effort. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex financed their trip and that of their team with their own resources. The events held in the various places visited were co-financed with resources from international cooperation and philanthropy that generously contributed to this visit.
'The Ministry of Equality and Equity and the Vice Presidency guaranteed the technical requirements, mobility and participation of young people, women and communities."

Richard Osman 'rejected' role in Netflix's Wednesday and hints who he would have played
The Thursday Murder Club author Richard Osman has made a surprising revelation about his connection to Netflix's Wednesday. Richard Osman has disclosed that he was invited to audition for Netflix series Wednesday, dropping hints about the character he might have portrayed. Three years have passed since Wednesday became a worldwide sensation on Netflix, with Jenna Ortega breathing new life into the wickedly amusing character of Wednesday Addams. The second series is now poised to launch with the opening four episodes arriving tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6, and anticipation for the fresh season has hit fever pitch. The Netflix smash hit featured amongst the subjects Richard Osman discussed with co-presenter Marina Hyde on his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, where he stunned both Hyde and audiences with a surprising revelation. During the closing moments of the episode, Osman disclosed: "They asked me to audition for a role in Wednesday. I couldn't do it. "But I assume because of my height and, I assume because it's the Addams Family, I assume there's some sort of tallness in it." Recognised for his BBC smash series Pointless alongside Alexander Armstrong and numerous other quiz programmes, Osman is instantly identifiable due to his towering frame, as he measures an impressive 6ft 7in tall. Whilst the 54-year-old didn't reveal which character he was meant to audition for in Wednesday, given the role's physical requirements, it's thought Osman could have portrayed the Addams family's manservant Lurch. The role of the silent henchman, originally played by 6ft 3 actor George Burcea in Wednesday season one, has been taken over by former basketball player Joonas Suotamo, who towers at an impressive 6ft 11. Hyde was shocked by Osman's revelation, exclaiming: "Oh my God! Sorry, no, I did not know that and I cannot believe you didn't do it!" He went on to say: "I can't remember why I couldn't do it...I'm not an actor in any way whatsoever, not interested in being an actor. "But the biggest show in the world, you're like 'maybe', I just thought 'for the podcast'. "Do everything for the podcast!" Hyde chuckled, adding: "It'll be fun if I was in that for the podcast." Meanwhile, Osman has been occupied with his novel The Thursday Murder Club, which has been adapted into a Netflix film featuring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie. Osman, who is an executive producer on The Thursday Murder Club, will see his project debut on Thursday, August 28.

National treasure Joanna Lumley, 79, is still raking in an astronomical figure each week as she joins the cast of Netflix's horror comedy-drama
National treasure Joanna Lumley is still raking in around £10,000-a-week aged 79. The hugely popular TV and film star has just snagged a role in the second series of Netflix 's horror comedy-drama Wednesday. The star, best known for her outrageous portrayal of Patsy Stone in the 90s sitcom Absolutely Fabulous alongside Jennifer Saunders, has since been involved in a variety of major projects. The former model, author and activist has featured in a number of successful films such as Paddington 2 and The Wolf of Wall Street, as well as popular UK series like Fool Me Once and Motherland, plus its spin-off Amandaland. And her hard-work is reflected in the books of her production firm Chrysolite Enterprises Ltd. Latest accounts show she earned £500,000 in 2024 in paid herself a £252,000 dividend. The firm also retains cash in its coffers of £686,000. Lumley will join the cast of the hit show as none other than Wednesday Addams' (played by Jenna Ortega) Grandma Hester Frump. She is described as Morticia Addams' (Catherine Zeta-Jones) 'formidable mother and the fabulously wealthy mogul behind Frump Mortuaries', one of the most successful companies in America. With this teaser in mind, it's speculated that Morticia will be clashing with her mother in the upcoming series. 'Hester is calculated in everything she does, from running her empire to managing her family's legacy,' say show makers. A first glimpse of Joanna's Wednesday transformation has been unveiled ahead of the second series launch, and she appears as striking as ever sporting a gothic fitted black gown and theatrical upswept hairstyle. She won't be the sole new addition when the new season kicks off, as Joanna will be accompanied by Thandiwe Newton portraying psychiatrist Dr Rachael Fairburn, Steve Buscemi as Principal Dort and Billie Piper taking on the role of music instructor Isadora Capri. Lady Gaga is also expected to feature in Wednesday as an educator named Rosaline Rotwood, though no preview shots of the superstar have emerged as of yet. It comes after Joanna insisted that she hasn't had a career but simply worked to earn enough money to 'keep herself alive'. Joanna has insisted that she hasn't had a career but simply worked to earn enough money to 'keep herself alive' (pictured with Jennifer Saunders in Absolutely Fabulous the movie) The star brushed aside the notion that her path to success as an actress was carefully planned, instead noting that she had no idea of her 'destiny' as she went from role to role. She was certain though that she just 'loved' to act and didn't enter this 'precarious profession' for the fame or 'stardom'. Speaking to the Radio Times about her vocation, Joanna explained: 'I've had no career – I was trying to earn money to keep myself alive. I've never had any idea of a destiny or where my career would go and I have never ever asked myself, "Will this damage my career?" I loved acting, so that was going to be my chosen thing. 'We actors just wanted to get to be better actors, and we wanted to work so we could pay the rent. We weren't longing for stardom. 'We're jobbing actors and we're no different, really, from painters and decorators. It's a precarious profession at the best of times and I've just done anything to keep my head above water.'
