Credit: Supplied But the sexy singleton wasn't instantly won over by finding fame and fortune on the dating series - as she loved her job as a personal banker with Barclays. Pal Vanda Barbosa had a candid chat whilst giving the International Business graduate a facial treatment when she was signed up for the show. She said: 'Alima is stunning. I would definitely say she's one of the most beautiful people I have ever met. 'And she's such an intelligent girl, even when she was presented with the offer to go to Love Island she was still thinking about her job that she would have to give up. 'She's such a kind, caring and funny girl. We got on really well and bonded because both of us lived in Portugal before and speak Portuguese.' Alima is originally from Guinea Bissau and regularly enjoys exotic holidays abroad. Now she is set to follow in the footsteps of her fellow Scots and female Love Island success stories like Camilla Thurlow, Laura Anderson and Paige Turley. Speaking after she was announced, Alima said: "I'm a good flirt. I always ask guys on a night out to guess which country I'm originally from. 'If they get it right, they can get my number. But they never guess correctly so it works really well if you don't want to give a guy your number.' On what she's looking for, Alima added: 'A tall man with a handsome face. Top 10 funniest Love Island moments 'You know when you just look at a guy and they have that Disney prince look to them? That's it.' She also dropped a bombshell in her early snippets by revealing she helped to deliver her baby sister with a shoelace after her mum's unexpected labour. Her mum went into labour while Alima was writing an essay for university and she had to help with the umbilical cord. She joked: 'I told my lecturer what happened because I couldn't submit my essay and he thought I was lying. He said there were easier ways to get an extension." Her friend Vanda reckons Alima has plenty of stories to tell that will keep viewers entertained. But she also believes she will think carefully before falling into the arms of one the show's bachelors. The esthetician, who runs Skin By Vanda, said: 'She's always been single since I met her. I would like her to find a genuinely nice good guy, someone kind and thoughtful who treats her the way she deserves. 'She's such a beautiful soul, inside and out and I truly believe she deserves the absolute best.'

Love Island series 12 cast: what are stars ‘biggest icks'?
Love Island will be welcoming a host of new singletons to the famous villa shortly - and plenty of them know exactly what they are looking for. The iconic reality show recently celebrated its 10th birthday. ITV has set the return date and it is just over 24 hours away on Monday (June 9). 12 singletons will soon be jetting off to see if they can find the one in the sun. The action will be returning to the show's traditional villa in Spain - after moving to South Africa for the All-Star spin-off in the winter. Maya Jama is on hosting duties once again. It is set to be broadcast on ITV2 once again - with new episodes six days a week. Ahead of the start of series 12, the new cast have been discussing what they are looking for. Blu - 26, construction project manager, London Discussing what he is looking for in the villa, Blu said: 'Someone who is family oriented, has a lot of love to give and a lot of love to receive. Gross.' | ITV Photo: ITV Photo Sales 3 . Shakira - 22, marketing, Burnley Shakira is looking for someone who: 'Someone who is tall, charming, witty, with big arms, a good smile and just really funny.' However her biggest 'icks' in the romance department include: 'Bad hygiene, like bad breath. I can't deal with it. I don't like that, I think I'm a little bit more old fashioned. I don't slide into DMs if I don't know someone. Also someone that tries too hard and is trying to be who they think I want them to be.' | ITV Photo: ITV Photo Sales

Sunday Brunch in chaos as star 'pulls out' last minute and replacement is found
Sunday Brunch faced chaos moments before going live after one artist was seemingly replaced at the last minute Sunday Brunch was thrown into chaos before going on-air after rocker Yungblud, who is no stranger to the programme, unexpectedly didn't turn up for his scheduled slot. In what seemed like a last-minute upset, the no-show occurred despite the artist being advertised on the TV guide as one of the day's guests for the live show that went out on Sunday, 8th June. The official Channel 4 summary promised viewers appearances by "Tim Peake, Ben McKenzie, Sian Gibson, and Professor Green. With music from Yungblud." Traditionally, musicians set to perform towards the end of the broadcast are seated at the table with other guests before their performance during the rolling credits, yet Yungblud's absence was stark. Not only did he miss his spot at the table of celebrities, but it also appeared that his space was swiftly taken over by Jerub, an indie-pop sensation who managed to fill in at what was probably the eleventh-hour, reports the Manchester Evening News. Oddly enough, the show's details failed to mention Jerub, and neither Tim Lovejoy nor Simon Rimmer, the hosts, offered any explanation regarding the sudden change or discussed why Yungblud wasn't there. While chatting on the couch with Lovejoy and Rimmer, Jerub acknowledged that it had been a "tight squeeze" to rearrange his schedule to appear in the studio, revealing how excited he was to "make it work" following the producers' call. Jerub disclosed that he initially intended to come from Leeds, but owing to some "trains being cancelled", he was compelled to travel frantically "by car" to ensure he made it to Channel 4 on time. Tim expressed his gratitude for the guest's presence, remarking: "It's a wonder that you made it here, really, isn't it?" but refrained from elaborating on the circumstances further. As the show wrapped up, Jerub stepped into the spotlight to perform his latest track, Deeper, captivating viewers with his vocal talent. The audience seemed unfazed by any changes in the programme, instead flocking to Twitter to praise the touching finale delivered by Jerub. One admirer tweeted: "What a song. What a beautiful voice, a beautiful ending to Sunday Brunch from Jerub #SundayBrunch." Another simply shared their awe: "#sundaybrunch wow," while yet another new fan declared: "Jerub is a new find! Love him! #SundayBrunch." Sunday brunch airs every Sunday on Channel 4, from 10am and can be streamed via My4.
