Katie Price says she's 'discriminated' against as she gives update on bankruptcies

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Katie Price has expressed her frustrations over perceived discrimination following her two bankruptcies despite being recently discharged from them. The 47 year old ex-glamour model, who once boasted a £40 million fortune, has spoken candidly about her financial tribulations, which saw her face a significant tax debt exceeding £750,000 and led to two bankruptcies within a challenging six-year period. Despite clearing her debts last March and looking forward to future triumphs, Katie has faced ongoing issues. Last year, after leaving her 'Mucky Mansion', the mother of five disclosed difficulties with securing a new home, attributing this to estate agents harbouring a "black mark" against her due to her publicised monetary struggles. She recounted instances where agents told her properties had been let to others after she showed interest, only to find they remained available—a situation that leads her to sense unfair treatment as she attempts to rebuild her life. Speaking on her podcast, 'The Katie Price Show', Katie voiced her determination: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again." She expressed frustration: "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." Katie explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Even when I go to rent a house, as soon as they know its my name, it is discrimination.", reports the Mirror. "They are like 'Oh no, no' and I am like 'Oh is it because of what you've read?'. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was initially declared bankrupt in December 2019 for one year. At the time, her worth was estimated to be £40 million. She then agreed to make monthly payments of £12,000 to her creditors in an attempt to clear her debt. However, this was unsuccessful, and by July 2020, Katie found herself back in court for another bankruptcy hearing. She informed the court she was living in a rental property that cost her £4,200 per month. Then, in March 2024, during a brief hearing held at the Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court in London, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time. During this hearing, it emerged that she owed £761,994.05 to HMRC, and the court found that she had failed to address this debt. Earlier this year, Katie announced her discharge from bankruptcy, expressing her relief: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

Britain's Got Talent has one huge problem and it needs to change now

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info This year has flown by, we're almost in our sixth month of the year and we have spent most of our time watching Britain's Got Talent. This series of the show seems never-ending, and honestly after three months it feels like it has been quite investment of time to watch it every weekend. The 2025 series started on Saturday, February 22 and after weeks, and months of auditions and semi-finals, Britain's Got Talent's live final will air tonight, Saturday, May 31. Now, this is the longest ever duration for a season of the TV talent show since it first aired 18 years ago. The only exception here was in 2020, when the programme was split in to two halves from April-May and then August-October due to the COVID 19 pandemic. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter . This year marked a change in the series' formatting, as the live semi-finals were instead aired weekly, rather than all of the episodes spread across a week in an aim to increase excitement over time. Lily Wilson, the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV said: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event." For some, this may be true and watching Britain's Got Talent is a weekly event where families gather around the telly and are excited for the moment 7pm comes around and they can watch their favourite talent competition. However, it looks like some people agree, with me like one X user who posted a meme saying "It's never gonna end" and alongside the gif they said, "Britain's Got Talent is still on tonight." Personally, I miss the golden days of BGT, when acts used to surprise us like Susan Boyle. You would never have guessed that she was going to wow the nation with a voice like that. Now, everything seems quite set up, and over produced, like you know exactly what is going to happen next. For example, nobody (myself included) believed that this year's contestant Max Fox wasn't planted in the audience. He performed a brilliant rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way before receiving a golden buzzer and progressing straight through to the semi-final. Even if it wasn't set up, it sure felt set up and that's because now we are so used to "reality" TV being incredibly influenced by producers. You can read more here about Max's audition. (Image: ITV) Recently, there has also been outrage over the amount of singers progressing through to the final, with those watching the programme saying "this isn't X Factor or The Voice." I have to admit, part of me agrees with them, the whole point of Britain's Got Talent has always been about showcasing different talents and trying to earn a spot on the Royal Variety Performance, emphasis on the word 'Variety' there. I used to argue that it was a great way for alternative singers or younger singers to perform but with the addition of The Voice Kids this isn't really an excuse any more. You can read more about why people think it's fixed for singers here. Regardless, Britain's Got Talent still seems to be drawing in the fans as they are keen to watch the talented individuals perform on our screens every week. Some may be excited for the series to finally come to an end this weekend, and others may wish that the series had a few more weeks to go. After a long three months, this final will definitely be worth the watch as the ten impressive acts battle it out to see who will be the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2025, receive the cash prize of £250,000 and earn a coveted space at the Royal Variety Performance. You can watch the grand final tonight, Saturday, May 31. It will be available to watch live from 7pm on ITV1 and ITV X.

Edinburgh fans brave the rain for Robbie Williams as they flock to Murrayfield

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Thousands of fans are braving the rain as they head to Murrayfield for Robbie Williams. The former Take That singer is kicking off his Britpop tour here in the capital, and doors opened at 4pm. With support acts set to come on at 6pm, Robbie will be performing at 8.30pm. Many were looking to head into the stadium to find their spot on Saturday afternoon, just as the heavens opened over the city. Images from the queue show umbrellas up, and ponchos on. However, the Met Office predicts the rain will soon move on - with the sun making an appearance at around 6pm, just in time for Robbie. They said: "Showers will die out from the west this evening. "Then dry with clear periods but rain will spread to the southwest later in the night. Chilly in sheltered glens. "Minimum temperature 6C." (Image: Edinburgh Live) Edinburgh Council reminded fans and locals that the city centre, and Murrayfield, would be busy on Saturday night. They said: "Tomorrow Robbie Williams begins his BRITPOP tour. "We're expecting the city centre and the Murrayfield area to be very busy so please plan ahead, use public transport or walk where possible." Traffic Scotland added: "Starting to look busy heading into Edinburgh as people head over for the Robbie Williams gig. "Make sure you have 'No Regrets' or that you 'Come Undone' with any queues. Keep your journey 'Supreme' by checking here for the latest delays." (Image: Edinburgh Live) The Angels singer shared a message to his fans only hours before doors opened. On Saturday morning, the singer shared a post on Instagram while performing with his band and wearing a Britpop T-shirt. He captioned the video: "See you tonight Edinburgh for BRITPOP Night 1."
