Prince Frederik went into his final moments with intention.
After the 22-year-old prince of Luxembourg tragically died March 1 following a battle with PolG mitochondrial disease, a rare genetic disorder, his father Prince Robert—who shares Frederik, as well as kids Princess Charlotte, 29, and Prince Alexandre, 27, with wife Princess Julie—detailed his last hours.
'Last Friday, February 28th, on 'Rare Disease Day,' our beloved son called us into his room to speak to him for one last time,' Prince Robert wrote in a lengthy statement shared to the POLG Foundation website. 'Frederik found the strength and the courage to say goodbye to each of us in turn.'
Following the prince sharing a goodbye to his direct family, as well as his cousins, the 56-year-old added that his son left the world by sharing one last joke.
'After gifting each of us with our farewells—some kind, some wise, some instructive—in true Frederik fashion, he left us collectively with a final long-standing family joke,' the prince, who is cousin to Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, continued. 'Even in his last moments, his humour, and his boundless compassion, compelled him to leave us with one last laugh—to cheer us all up.'

The Luxembourg royal also gave a bit of insight into his own final conversation with his son, adding, 'Frederik's last question to me, prior to his other remarks was: 'Papa, are you proud of me?''
And the prince emphasized just how proud he indeed was of his son prior to his passing.
'The answer was very easy, and he had heard it oh so many times but at this time, he needed reassurance that he had contributed all that he possibly could in his short and beautiful existence and that he could now finally move on,' Robert explained. 'Frederik knows that he is my Superhero, as he is to all of our family, and to so very many good friends and now in great part thanks to his POLG Foundation, to so very many people the world over.'
Frederik had been diagnosed with POlG disease when he was 14, and his father described him as 'headstrong,' 'cheery,' and possessing an 'indomitable lust for life,' that helped him fight until the end.
Prince Robert included a piece of advice that Frederik had written to himself in his phone, noting that it was one his entire family would begin to heed to keep his spirit alive, which read, 'Go outside when the sun is shining.'

Tell Me Lies ' Grace Van Patten Teases What to Expect From Season 3

Originally appeared on E! Online Grace Van Patten isn't telling any lies when it comes to Tell Me Lies. As the Hulu series continues production for season three following an extremely shocking sophomore season finale last October, the star teased what fans can expect from the upcoming episodes. 'It's gonna be crazy,' Grace, who plays Lucy, told E! News at the premiere of The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox Aug. 19. 'It feels like the peak of all these young peoples' worst decisions.' For fans of the series, it may seem impossible that things could get any worse after Jackson White's Stephen—whose eight-year on-again, off-again relationship with Lucy is the impetus of the plot—sends Bree (Catherine Missal) quite an incriminating audio file on the day of her wedding, wreaking havoc between her, her bridesmaid Lucy and groom Evan (Branden Cook). But while the couple are living out a nightmare romance on screen, Grace emphasized to E! News that Jackson—who she's dating in real life—has been nothing but 'a dream.' In fact, he was right by her side at the premiere of the Twisted Tale, in which she portrays Amanda Knox, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in Italy in 2009. More from E! 'I'm so thankful that I was able to be a part of the opportunity for Amanda to reclaim her story. I've never felt so fulfilled after a job.' (For more from Grace tune in to E! 'I'm amazed by her ability to trust and to forgive,' Grace continued. 'I was very inspired by that mindset.' And since Amanda herself was an executive producer on the project, it made it all the more special for Grace. 'It feels like such a huge collaboration,' the 28-year-old added, 'and such a huge amount of trust that I've never experienced before. This felt very special.' For Amanda, the feeling was mutual. 'She really truly captured what it was like for me to be going through this, all of the emotions,' the 38-year-old shared of Grace. 'I'm so proud of her.' Inside Selena Gomez's Adorable Relationship With Her Little Sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey

THE RUNDOWN Selena Gomez was the only child of Mandy Teefey and her father Ricardo Gomez. The former couple had Gomez fairly young, and it was a long time before she had a sibling. Her younger sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey, was born in June 2013 to Mandy and her second husband, Brian Teefey. Despite their age gap, Gomez and 12-year-old Gracie are quite close. In 2017, Gomez shared a home movie with Gracie, writing in the caption, 'I will forever let my sister know she is strong, bold, and beautiful. She will be raised to know her voice matters. She is going to understand the importance behind being a leader and inspire others by her truth.' For Gracie's 12th birthday, Gomez wrote in June 2025, 'Happy birthday to my baby sissy. As I cry writing this, my heart melts because I know you know I'm always on your side. No matter what. I love you baby girl 💕' Here's what to know about Gracie and her adorable relationship with the Only Murders in the Building star. Just after Gracie's 2013 birth, Gomez told E!, 'She's adorable. I'm obsessed with her and becoming a big sister. I know I've had the responsibility to be a role model for girls but when you have a little sister of your own, you kinda think, 'Okay, this is legit.'' She later said, 'I keep her very very protected. I mean, it's instinctual.' In 2014, she shared a picture of Gracie as an infant sitting by her at the piano, calling her 'the future.' She often shared pics of Gracie as a baby, calling her 'sissy.' Gracie made the perfect date to the Frozen 2 premiere in 2019, being a part of the target audience. In an interview with BBC One, Gomez shared that she coached her then 6-year-old sister on what to do if she didn't feel comfortable on the red carpet. 'If you get nervous, if you get overwhelmed, just pull my hand and I'll take you off immediately,' she said. 'I said to her, 'This is my favorite red carpet I have ever done.' Because she's never done any of that, and we didn't force her to do that. Everything we do…to keep her safe, but my sister's become very dramatic now. She's all about the dresses and the glitter.' Gracie did so well that she was Gomez's date to the 2022 Golden Globes. Gomez often shares pics of Gracie on Instagram in which she's clearly an active part of the pop star's life and hanging out with her friends, like in this carousel of images from her time in Paris. In July 2024, she shared some throwback photos of them together, captioning it, 'There's nothing like a little sister and the bond you have. I will forever protect you, help guide you and love you through every single moment in life baby girl.' In March 2024, they shared a 'sissy date night.' And in 2023, she called Gracie her 'little me.' Gomez gave fans another look at her life with Gracie in an August 2025 Instagram. They cuddled up over dinner together: Gomez posted an Instagram Story in June 2025, revealing her longtime friend Taylor Swift and Gracie are very close. She captioned the clip of Gracie watching a Swift music video, 'When she loves Auntie Taylor more than me.' In August 2022, Gomez spoke on the Giving Back Generation about how Gracie is her rainbow, along with her family. 'She's eight years old, and she puts things in perspective,' Gomez said. 'I have to basically watch this little person grow into a human being and there's no better feeling in the world. I kind of feel like I'm a parent in a way even though I'm not. It's so rewarding to see that life was so simple at one point, and I want to enjoy life sometimes the way she enjoys life.'

Sydney Sweeney breaks silence amid American Eagle ad controversy

Sydney Sweeney is speaking out for the first time nearly a month after her American Eagle ad erupted online. In her new Wall Street Journal cover story, the 27-year-old expressed her thoughts on the chatter surrounding her controversial campaigns. When asked if she's been strategic about her campaigns, she responded, 'Yes. Very.' Though she didn't address the American Eagle ad in the new interview, she did speak on another ad she did for the soap brand Dr. Squatch. In that campaign, which was released in May, it's suggested that the product contains Sweeney's used bath water. 'I think it's important to have a finger on the pulse of what people are saying,' Sweeney told the Wall Street Journal. 'Because everything is a conversation with the audience.' 'It was mainly the girls making comments about it, which I thought was really interesting. They all loved the idea of Jacob Elordi's bathwater,' the actress added in reference to a scene in 'Saltburn' when Keoghan drank Elordi's used bathwater. Sweeney's thoughts on marketing come weeks after the actress made headlines for an American Eagle advertisement that caused online outrage. In the ad, she boasted about her 'great jeans,' which sparked accusations of promoting eugenics. Many critics likened the wordplay to 'Nazi propaganda.' In the ad, Sweeney says, 'Genes are passed down from parent to offspring, often determining traits like eye color, personality, and even hair color. My jeans are blue.' Following the backlash, American Eagle responded in a statement saying, ''Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story.' The statement continued: 'We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.'
