Actor Rana Daggubati has joined forces with the makers of 'Baahubali' to back Ram Pothineni's upcoming film. Rangayana to host Greeshma Rangotsava from June 29
Mysuru: City-based theatre repertory Rangayana is hosting a month-long theatre festival from Sunday. All the plays will be staged at Bhoomigeetha, the closed auditorium at Rangayana, from 6.30 pm onwards. Speaking to reporters, Rangayana director Satish Tiptur said the annual festival will commemorate senior theatre activist C G Krishnaswamy, popularly known as CGK in theatre circles. The festival, Greeshma Rangotsava, is organised to provide a platform and to promote amateur theatre troupes, which play a crucial role in keeping the theatre movement alive in the state. As part of the festival, seven plays will be staged every weekend by various theatre troupes, Tiptur said. The festival will be inaugurated by noted theatre personality and former Rangayana director H Janardhan. He will be joined by Ranga Samaj member H S Suresh Babu, joint director of Kannada and culture V N Mallikarjunaswamy, and assistant director M D Sudarshan. The director said the repertory will provide all necessary facilities to the artists during their stay in the city. Ranga Samaj member H S Sureshbabu and Greeshma Rangotsav convener Arsikere Yogananda were also present at the media briefing.
