In a statement to the Hindustan Times, the makers revealed that they have a "long-standing partnership" with the actor, longer than with any other star. The producers stated that Yash is part of the family. Addressing the reports online, the statement added, "'KGF' was envisioned with Yash in mind, and for us, he will always be our Rocky Bhai.
We were always in touch with several other actors pan-India for different key roles in 'KGF 1.
' Any reports or rumors claiming that Yash was not the first choice for KGF are incorrect."
The statement concluded with the makers revealing that they had not made any such comments about the actor not being the first choice.
