Glasgow Timesa day ago

The 56-year-old has been recognised alongside her Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman in the King's Birthday Honours for her services to broadcasting.
Kay, who has two children with Daly who he married in 2003, also praised Winkleman and the Strictly team for 'consistently producing the best show every year'.
Posting a series of photographs on Instagram, Kay said: 'Well what can we say!!! Congratulations @tessdaly on your MBE.
'All the hard work and huge effort you put into everything you do has been recognised by the King.
'Being on Strictly from the start when our babies weren't even born just proves how well you've done. Now they're almost 21 and 16 and we've all enjoyed this journey together!!
'Also, bravo everyone at @bbcstrictly and @claudiawinkle for consistently producing the best show every year!! Time to pop a cork me thinks…'
Daly began working as a model and first appeared on screens in 1999 when she hosted The Big Breakfast's Find Me A Model competition on Channel 4.
She reached new levels of fame as co-host of the BBC One Saturday night dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing, which she presented alongside the late Sir Bruce Forsyth until 2014, three years before his death at the age of 89.

Traitors presenter Winkleman joined Daly as Strictly co-host, with the pair picking up the best entertainment award at the 2024 Bafta TV ceremony.
On being made MBE, Daly told the PA News Agency: 'I cried when I opened the letter, because I just I couldn't believe it.
'It feels like the most wonderful honour, because when you work as a broadcaster, you're part of people's viewing habits.
'Broadcasting is without a doubt a collective effort. I've been really fortunate to work with some of the very best production teams that there are in the business. And so my biggest thanks is to them, because you're only as good as your team.'
The broadcaster also presented the ITV makeover show, Home On Their Own in 2003, replacing Ulrika Jonsson, and in 2011 fronted the BBC Two documentary TV Greats: Our Favourites From The North where she took a look at Manchester's broadcasting past as BBC North bid farewell to its studios in the city to move to Salford.
Across her career she has interviewed stars including Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, rock band No Doubt and US musician Lenny Kravitz.

Bobby Brazier shuts down family rift reports with heartfelt message to dad Jeff

Bobby Brazier has appeared to quash rumours of a feud in the Brazier family by sharing a sweet Father's Day message. The 2023 Strictly Come Dancing finalist was said to have 'turned his back' on dad Jeff Brazier. According to a family insider, the EastEnders actor, who will exit the soap later this year, has moved out of their Essex home to live in Soho, where he's focused on 'following his own path,' which includes spirituality. The reports followed an intense couple of weeks for his 20-year-old brother Freddy Brazier, who publicly admitted that he 'doesn't want to see' Jeff, accusing him of being image-obsessed without consideration for 'his own sons'. He is also due to enter rehab, having shared that he's been addicted to smoking since the age of 12, while Jeff is allegedly seeking legal action to prevent his youngest from spending time with his grandmother, Jackiey Budden. Despite all of this, Bobby appears keen to maintain a positive public-facing image. Taking to his Instagram Story this evening, the 22-year-old wished Jeff a happy Father's Day with four words that made it clear how he feels about him. 'My dads a rock. [sic]', his caption read. Bobby accompanied the declaration with a photo of not just himself and Jeff, but Freddy too. Taken from behind, it showed the three of them looking out at a vibrant sunset on the beach. With Jeff in the middle, he had his arms around both boys. The post was completed with Adele's emotional ballad Hometown Glory playing over the top. Bobby's unexpected affectionate post is a stark contrast to the details of his so-called strained relationship with his father reported just days ago. According to the Daily Mail, Bobby's new residence is close to Hare Krishna HQ, where he is said to have turned to process the distance that is thought to have grown between him and Jeff. A source close to the family said: 'Bobby's always had a spiritual side, but this is intentional. It's clear he's trying to leave all the fighting and noise behind. 'Freddy's rebellion is loud—drugs, public slanging matches, and legal battles about his nana—while Bobby's is quiet. But actually it's just as defiant. 'He's turning his back on the life his Dad created for them in Essex and following his own path.' It's reported that he shows up to Hare Krishna HQ 'every Saturday without fail', joining in the kitchen sessions, lessons, and prayers. 'This isn't a gimmick,' an insider insisted. This Morning host Jeff is said to be 'heartbroken' at how things have developed, especially with Freddy coming out with such a public tongue-lashing. In his own interview with the Mail, Freddy did not hold back, also claiming that he and Bobby 'don't speak much either'. 'I sent him a message to wish him a happy birthday, but that's it,' he admitted. 'I used to be the middleman between my dad and everyone. But now I can't be bothered. I don't care what happens.' Freddy also said his brother is the 'fiery' one in their household. 'I'm chilled out—I zone out and walk away when we argue.' Elsewhere in the chat, Freddy said he wouldn't be seeing his dad on Father's Day, having also avoided posting anything online to mark the occasion. More Trending Freddy, who was just four when his mum Jade Goody died from cervical cancer in 2009 at age 27, added: 'But that's because I feel like I'm being hung out. I don't really deserve it.' However, he's not ruling out the possibility of building bridges, having said he wants to 'be clean so [he] can live happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of [his] family' ahead of entering rehab. Mentioning Jeff explicitly, he said in a recent Instagram Story statement that updated fans on his well-being: 'I haven't been able to feel love properly as I have never loved myself and it starts now I want to play football and take up boxing I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father'. Nan Jackiey is Goody's mother. She has also spoken about her struggles with drug use in the past, also making it clear how she feels about Jeff in public rants using the C-word. Got a story? The crew, including therapists Danielle Harel, Celeste Hirschman and the experts tasked with helping the cast let loose, were all under strict rules not to get any thrills of their own. "But Virgin Island was no fun for anyone except the virgins. 'Production wanted to make them feel comfortable and unintimidated. "This sort of crew sex ban is unheard of in the TV world, but is very responsible of Channel 4.' A second series has been ordered after the show became the broadcaster's biggest launch this year, averaging 1.4million viewers an episode and notching up 9million streams. Speaking at a Soccer Aid training day last week, Gorka said: 'I always say James Corden would be amazing because he comes from musical theatre. 'And he just moved back to the UK again. He can sing, he can move, I think he'd be amazing. 'I was having breakfast with Sir Mo Farah and I was telling him he'd be amazing on the show. BRENDAN: IT'LL END IN TEARS 4 Potty-mouthed Irish Mammy Agnes Brown Credit: BBC Studios / Alan Peebles THEY are two of the longest-running sitcoms on the BBC – and they show no signs of slowing down just yet – but their creators are already cooking up endings. When discussing what was to come in the future, Mrs Brown's Boys' Brendan O'Carroll and Not Going Out's Lee Mack admitted they have very different ideas of how they would wrap things up. Brendan revealed: 'I'd have the audience peeing themselves with laughter for 25 minutes and then crying their eyes out for the final five.' But Lee Mack, who co-writes and stars in his series alongside Sally Bretton and Hugh Dennis, responded: 'I'd do it the other way around!' Brendan's comedy about potty-mouthed Irish Mammy Agnes Brown launched in 2011, while Lee's show featuring him and co-star Sally as husband and wife Lee and Lucy first aired back in 2006. ACTRESS JOANNA VANDERHAM says she found her role as Diana Mosley in UKTV's Outrageous harrowing. Diana, one of the Mitford sisters, married fascist Oswald Mosley, with Hitler as a wedding guest. She said: 'Certain lines of hers I found difficult. Her thoughts were so scary.' SQUID Game's third and final series lands on Netflix on June 27, but director Hwang Dong-Hyuk says the team struggled to come up with new sick games for it. At a preview screening in London he said he felt 'relief and sadness' to close the show after dedicating six years of his life to it.
