India Monsoon Update: IMD Forecasts Intense Rainfall in Telangana Over the Next Three Days
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered officials to take all precautionary measures to prevent loss of lives during heavy rains and ensure that there is no vehicular movement on bridges, canals, streams and causeways filled with heavy flows in low-lying areas, an official press release said.
Public infrastructure across Himachal Pradesh continued to be affected as the monsoon lashed the state, with the death toll climbing to 240. As many as 330 roads, 198 electricity distribution transformers (DTRs), and 141 water supply schemes were among the disruptions reported in the last 24 hours, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) said.
Telangana rainfall update
Delhi recorded a minimal temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday( August 13, 2025), with the rainfall office prognosticating a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or showers.
The maximum temperature would settle at 33 degrees Celsius, the weather office said.
The air quality was in the moderate category with the Air Quality Index at 9 a.m. standing at 112.

Twenty districts, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Budaun, Jalaun, Jhansi, and Lalitpur, are under a yellow alert for heavy rain, while thunderstorm and lightning warnings have been issued for 36 districts. Several districts in the Terai belt -- Maharajganj, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, and Shahjahanpur -- witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Unnao received a staggering 150 mm rainfall, Bareilly 140 mm, and Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, and Barabanki each recorded 120 mm.

South Bengal districts put under yellow alert; northern parts to see rain and thunderstorm activities: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for multiple districts too. In South Bengal, districts including Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, and Birbhum are under yellow alert for the rest of the week. Thursday's IMD bulletin has put all South Bengal districts on alert for thunderstorm activity on August 14, with wind speed expected to reach 30-40 kmph. The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rain for the next two days, with the intensity of the showers expected to decrease. The IMD said South Bengal will later experience a more subdued weather pattern. For Kolkata, the weathermen have predicted light to moderate rain and thundershowers until the end of Thursday. Prediction for North Bengal According to the IMD, North Bengal will continue to bear the brunt of the ongoing monsoon. According to the bulletin, North Bengal districts — Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Coochbehar — have been put under yellow alerts amid a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall of 7-11 cm. The IMD has flagged risks of waterlogging and reduced visibility and possible landslides, advising residents to avoid movement in waterlogged areas. The IMD has also asked people to take shelters in safe places during thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the temperature has dropped by two to four degree Celsius in the area amid incessant rain spells. In a statement, the IMD said, 'The low-pressure area, over West Central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts, lies over northwest and adjoining areas of West Central Bay of Bengal and South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts at 8:30 am on August 14. Heavy rainfall activity is very likely to decrease over North Bengal.
