Before Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara, Arjun Kapoor Did The Romantic Bike Wrap in Tevar; Video Goes Viral
Debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are riding high on the wave of love and admiration following the release of Saiyaara. From their effortless performances to their sizzling onscreen chemistry, the duo has managed to capture the audience's attention in a way that feels both refreshing and reminiscent of seasoned actors. Ahaan, with his rockstar charm, has quickly earned the title of the 'national crush," while Aneet's grace and simplicity have won over countless hearts.
Among the many memorable moments in Saiyaara, one particular scene has been the talk of the town—and the internet. It's a brief yet impactful moment when Aneet's character hops onto Ahaan's bike, and he nonchalantly throws his overshirt around her, tying her to himself before speeding away. The intimate gesture left several viewers blushing and replaying the scene, calling it 'butterfly-inducing" and 'the moment that sealed their chemistry."

However, eagle-eyed netizens have now dug up an old Bollywood moment that bears an uncanny resemblance. A clip from the 2015 film Tevar starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha has resurfaced, and fans can't help but draw comparisons. In the scene, Arjun wraps a scarf around Sonakshi's waist as she sits behind him on a bike, tying it snugly before taking her hand and placing it gently on him for support. Much like Saiyaara, it's a protective, intimate move that communicates volumes without a single word.
While both scenes share a similar action, fans insist the 'vibe" is entirely different. Some feel Arjun's version in Tevar exudes old-school romance and charm, while Ahaan's interpretation in Saiyaara is bolder, edgier, and more contemporary.
This discovery has divided the internet. One camp is rallying behind Arjun Kapoor, showering him with praise and even resurrecting the popular moniker 'Lord Arjun." Comments ranged from, 'That's why we call him Lord Arjun Kapoor 🙏" to 'OG move by Lord Arjun 🧎♂️🧎♂️🙏". Others recalled his early career highs, with one fan writing, 'To be honest, Arjun Kapoor was a decent actor… his 2 States, Aurangzeb, debut movie and many more he acted well… but after Half Girlfriend his career graph went down."
On the other side, Ahaan Panday's growing fanbase insists that his rendition in Saiyaara hits harder. One comment read, 'It is all about creating an impact which Ahaan Panday did." Another fan chimed in, 'Ahaan made it look better… felt real." Others agreed, adding, 'Attitude matters 🔥 Ahaan has it."
Interestingly, some cinephiles went further back, pointing out that the real 'trendsetter" for this move might have been none other than Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots (2009). In the film, Aamir's character drives Sharman Joshi's onscreen father to the hospital on a scooty, with the elderly man held securely—a functional, if less romantic, precursor to the now-iconic 'wraparound" moment. One fan even posted a still from the scene, captioning it: 'OG trendsetter for a purpose."
Whether you side with 'Lord Arjun" or Ahaan Panday, there's no denying that Saiyaara has already etched some unforgettable images into pop culture's collective memory. The romantic drama, directed by Mohit Suri, continues to draw audiences for its blend of heartfelt storytelling, electric chemistry, and stylish visual moments.

Mohit Suri Called Uncle Mahesh Bhatt For Advice On Saiyaara: 'He Said Swear Words'
Mahesh Bhatt told Saiyaara director Mohit Suri to trust his instincts. Mohit Suri's latest film, Saiyaara, has become a sensation ever since its release last month. The film starred newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who have also become massive stars due to the film's success. As Saiyaara continues its box office run, Mohit Suri joined CNN-News18 for a Town Hall where he discussed love, loss and of course, Saiyaara. During his session, he recalled how he called his uncle, Mahesh Bhatt, for advice when he was confused about a certain scene in the film. Mohit's mother, Heena, is Mahesh Bhatt's sister, making him the filmmaker's nephew. Mohit has often worked under Mahesh's guidance, and when he was faced with doubt during the shoot of Saiyaara, he reached out to his uncle and mentor. Referring to the scene in Saiyaara where Ahaan Panday's father gets violent with him, Mohit Suri said, while he was staging the scene with the actors, he felt it had become too dramatic. Mohit Suri said, 'At 7 in the morning the next day, I was going to shoot the scene. I sent a missed call to Bhatt saab. He was up at 4 in the morning, and he called me up. I said, 'I am feeling a little unsure, they're very nice people. I think I'm being a little too dramatic.' He has no idea about my script." 'All I've told him is the scene where the son gets violent with his father, he's an alcoholic. Bhatt saab just cut me off. He said a couple of swear words to me; that's him. I didn't realise that my profile picture was of my son's hand in my hand. He just said that the way you're holding your son's hand in a close-up, the kind of emotion you feel towards your son, no matter how, go shoot this scene, it's never going to have a wrong emotional connect," Mohit recalled. Mohit Suri said that Mahesh Bhatt mentioned, 'The son-father bond is too pure for you. How can the same person who has a DP like this even ask me this question? Go shoot it the way you want." Mohit Suri listened paid heed to this advice and it turned out to be one of the scenes that Aditya Chopra loved most. Meanwhile, Saiyaara has struck an emotional chord with audiences across the globe. The film's Indian box office collection has crossed Rs 300 crore, while the global total now stands above Rs 500 crore. Alongside Ahaan and Aneet, the ensemble cast includes Alam Khan, Sid Makkar, Shaan Groverr, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola. Mohit Suri Reveals How Saiyaara Title Track Was Born: 'These Boys From Kashmir…'
Last Updated: Mohit Suri revealed at CNN-News18's Mumbai Townhall that he recorded all songs for Saiyaara before shooting. He also spoke about Saiyaara title track's creation. Mohit Suri's Saiyaara wasn't just built on a script – it was first built on music. Suri, at CNN-News18's Mumbai Townhall event, revealed that he recorded all the songs for the film before even beginning to shoot. He also spoke about how the Saiyaara title track was conceived, which ultimately became a chartbuster. The filmmaker, who is known for working with multiple music directors at the same time, detailed his process. 'It's a nightmare to work with multiple music directors," Mohit Suri playfully said. 'When I started off, I was 22 when I was directing my first film. I had long hair, etc., and people didn't take me seriously. I was in Krish Kapoor mode. Most people didn't want to work with me at that time – the senior ones. They didn't think I knew my job. Out of inability, I went out and found guys like Mithoon, who was 19 back then, and all these people, and got a musicians' ensemble together." That 'inability" quickly became his competitive edge. The Aashiqui 2 director said, 'What was good was that I was someone who went out and hung out in clubs and coffee shops, etc., and that's how I know a DJ Suketu, who made Bin Tere Sanam. I had the edge because I was connected, and I put it all together, and it worked out. Then it also worked for the second film. What started as a limitation became my strength. I am not against working with one music director, but my greed or need for good music – if one person can give it to me, I am happy. But I love that process where I am sitting and jamming together." Mohit Suri on the making of Saiyaara title track For Saiyaara, the title track has its own serendipitous backstory. 'There are these boys from Kashmir, who I have one song called Ishq in the Indie circuit. I'm like, call this boy down, he brings along a partner. They are in Mumbai for 14 days to try their luck. The last time Arslan was working on the Atal Setu between Leh-Ladakh and Kashmir as a civil engineer – he's a civil engineer. He comes and meets Tanishk Bagchi from Bengal. He makes them meet me. I make them meet Irshad Kamil, who is from Punjab. We jam together and make something in the air, called the Saiyaara title track. It's the most amazing process." Mohit Suri-helmed Saiyaara was backed by YRF. It starred debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Mohit Suri On The Moment He Decided To Become A Director: 'Bought DDLJ Tickets In Black…'
Mohit Suri says he was inspired by Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to become a director. Saiyaara director Mohit Suri still remembers the moment he decided he had to be a director. It was while watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge at Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy — so much so that he saw it twice, even buying a ticket in black the second time. The Yash Raj Films classic, directed by Aditya Chopra, left a mark that stayed with him. Now, years later, Mohit has come full circle with Saiyaara under the YRF banner — a film that's taken his career to a new high, even beyond the success of his earlier hits. Speaking at the CNN-News18 Townhall, Mumbai edition, Mohit Suri looked back at the moment. 'My aim in life over here is to work with some really great people, and I'm so happy I'm getting to do that. There is the money — it's superb. But, just hanging out with people. Like, I was in the 8th grade seeing Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the theatre, in Gaiety Galaxy. And I called my dad to see it again, and I bought a ticket in black. I saw that film and said, 'I want to be a director'. And imagine working for him [Aditya Chopra] today. That was a big moment for me. It was a fanboy moment, and I'm really grateful for that." About Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda Powered by strong word-of-mouth and immense public support, Saiyaara has outperformed expectations despite facing stiff competition from Anupam Kher's Tanvi: The Great, Sonakshi Sinha's Nikita Roy, Mahavatar Narsimha, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, and Triptii Dimri–Sidhant Chaturvedi's Dhadak 2. Its gripping storyline, heartfelt emotions, and soul-stirring music have kept audiences hooked. The romantic drama follows Ahaan, a daring and struggling musician, and Aneet, a fiercely devoted writer, as their love is tested by life's trials in classic Mohit Suri style. The film explores themes of grief, sacrifice, and eternal love. Written by Rohan Shankar and Sankalp Sadanah, Saiyaara also features standout performances from Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Sid Makkar, Shaad Randhawa, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola, marking the first collaboration between Mohit Suri and legendary production house Yash Raj Films.
