Corrie fans are just learning that Gary Windass star has a famous wife
Coronation Street enthusiasts have been left stunned upon discovering the identity of Mikey North's famous spouse.
Mikey, who is best known for his role as Gary Windass on the popular ITV soap, first graced our screens back in 2008. Arriving on the cobbles with the rest of the Windass clan, it wasn't long before he became a beloved character.
Over the years, he's been at the centre of numerous dramatic storylines. From grappling with PTSD to navigating turbulent romances, Gary's tenure in Weatherfield has been anything but dull.
Currently, viewers are on tenterhooks as Gary lies comatose in hospital, with the circumstances leading to his condition yet to be revealed.
However, it's not just on-screen drama that's causing a stir among fans. Many have recently been taken aback upon learning about Mikey's famous wife, actress Rachael Isherwood, reports Leicestershire Live.
Off-screen, Mikey is happily married to Rachael, whom he wed in 2016 after three years of dating. The couple share two children, a son named Archie born in 2017, and a daughter named Eliza born in 2019.
Rachael herself is no stranger to the limelight. As well as being a fitness instructor, she had a significant role in the Hollywood blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, according to MCU Fandom. In the film, Rachael portrayed a USO dancer.
Fans of Coronation Street have been all atwitter after glimpsing Mikey North and his wife Rachael, as one adoring fan pointed out on a Corrie Facebook fan page: "Mikey North and his wife Rachael."
Curiosity was piqued when another asked: "Am I right in thinking she was in a Marvel film a few years ago?" followed by yet another chipping in with an astonished: "Ahhh no way."
Echoes of their good looks spread with comments like: "Such a gorgeous couple!"
The moment Mikey proposed to Rachael during a blissful retreat in the Lake District back in 2015 has been recounted. Sharing the details of his proposal with OK! Mikey reminisced: "I asked her to shut her eyes.
"When she opened them I was down on one knee with the ring. I was looking up at Rachael, with my knees getting wet, and I just said: 'Will you marry me?'"
He confided further: "In the moment before I proposed I was shaking like a leaf. Then when she said yes, I called my mum and just couldn't stop crying."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX

‘Killer who shot dead American Idol exec & husband called 911 in home pretending to be them' 4 days before bodies found
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SUSPECTED shooter called 911 and pretended to be American Idol executive Robin Kaye and her husband after murdering them, prosecutors have claimed. It took four days for cops to find the bodies of Kaye and her songwriter husband Thomas Deluca, both 70, despite them directly speaking with 22-year-old suspect Raymond Boodarian. Just 40 minutes later, first responders got a second call from a man claiming to be a resident, and he told the operator that they didn't need help from police. At some point during the call, the dispatcher heard someone say "Please don't shoot me" and deployed officers, a search warrant affidavit filed by the Los Angeles Police Department says. According to Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman, the second call was placed by the suspect, who identified himself at some point in the conversation, he told reporters at a briefing on Monday. read more on this case PRODUCER'S CONCERNS American Idol exec 'feared for safety' at home before being found dead Jennifer Forkish, the LAPD communications director, said cops raced to the scene and that they deployed a police airship known as Air 16 to survey the property. However, first responders couldn't get into the property because the entrances were locked and no one, including the neighbor, was answering their calls, Forkish said. Officers in the helicopter also couldn't see any sign that a break-in had taken place, so they left the home. Hochman has not explained how or why Boodarian gave his full name. It wasn't until June 14 at around 2:30 pm that officers would find Kaye and Deluca's bodies during a wellness check. A friend of the couple said they hadn't heard from them in several days and gave cops a key card to get inside the wall surrounding their property. American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and husband Thomas Deluca both 'murdered inside LA home' When they came to the doors, cops saw signs that something was wrong and burst through a glass window to get inside. Kaye and Deluca were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head. Boodarian was arrested the following day. The suspect, who is from Encino and lived a 13 minute drive from the couple, was charged with battery and exhibiting a deadly weapon over a year before his latest arrest. However, he was deemed mentally incompetent, and the charges were dropped, court documents seen by KABC show. The suspect was also charged with brandishing a knife and making threats against his stepfather in 2023, as well as battery against his mother and sister in 2024. But those charges were also dismissed. Kaye and Deluca's home was broken into just weeks before they were attacked, and they had tried to crack down on security to prevent any other incidents, according to friends of the couple. Furious community members have begged for a crackdown on crime and opened up about disturbing red flags they saw in the suspect. One person living in the neighborhood said that Boodarian would "sit in front of my friend's house just staring and smiling," according to the New York Post. "He did that on multiple occasions, sometimes in his own house, just looking out the window and smiling." Boodarian has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree burglary, and he's being held without bail in a Los Angeles correctional facility. His next court appearance has been scheduled for August 20.

Truth behind Stacey Solomon's absence from Loose Women revealed as star appears in just one episode in an entire year
With several TV shows, fashion collections, a haircare range, and five children to look after, Stacey Solomon is one very busy lady. However, the TV personality, 35, has been notably absent from the hit ITV daytime show Loose Women in recent months, and fans are desperate to know why. Stacey last appeared on the show in December 2024 as a guest on their groundbreaking 25-hour Talkathon, which saw the ladies on the panel take to the air live for over an entire day with no breaks. And while the mother-of-five proved to be one of the more popular contributors on the day, she hasn't been seen on the show since, leaving viewers to question the reason behind her disappearance. She first appeared on the daytime show in 2011, becoming a regular panellist in 2016 and has made over 350 appearances, so it's a mystery as to why she has failed to come back. Now, sources close to the star have insisted to The Sun that she is simply 'too busy' to appear back on the panel. A source told the publication: 'Stacey is always welcome back and is absolutely still considered part of the Loose family, but at the moment she's so busy with personal projects and her kids that she never seems to find the time, 'But they'd have her back in a heartbeat. They love her, and there's no ill feeling towards her at all. She is just simply too busy to do it right now.' However, it is not the first time Stacey has been absent from the show for several months. Back in 2023, after she had been absent from the show for several months following the birth of her youngest daughter, Belle, she admitted that her work schedule and caring for her little one left her with no time to commit to Loose Women. Returning to the show in November of that year, she said: 'I'm so happy to be here. I feel like I've missed it so much. She continued: 'It's been crazy because my daughter Belle was a wonderful surprise, but what that meant was I had to fit my filming schedule into a very short period of time. 'So I've just been up and down the country with Sort Your Life Out and filming another show, Bricking It, so I haven't been able to even get into town.' Now, it seems history is repeating itself, as in the last six weeks she has been travelling the world, launching her latest Rehab hair care product in Lake Como, and vacationing with her eldest son, Zach, 17, in Paris. Now, sources close to the star have insisted to The Sun that she is simply 'too busy' with personal projects and her kids to appear back on the panel Stacey has also been busy working on the new series of her BBC show, Sort Your Life Out. However, pals believe Stacey, who has been married to Joe Swash, 43, since 2022, may have more on her mind. A source told the publication: 'Everyone thinks she and Joe will try for another baby, Stacey absolutely loves being a mum and she's openly spoken about adding to the family, so no one would be surprised if she wanted to go that route.' Stacey shares Rex, six, Rose, three, and two-year-old Belle with Joe, who himself has a son, Harry, 17, as well as sons Zach and Leighton, 13, from previous relationships. In the lead-up to the launch of their reality show, Stacey & Joe, the couple discussed the possibility of having more children. And while Joe said he would love 'to have one more', Stacey, while not as keen, didn't shut the idea down completely, admitting she'd prefer to wait until her children are slightly older. Despite being one of the biggest stars on TV, receiving a BAFTA nomination, and having both her shows on the BBC, Stacey failed to make the cut on the corporation's recent rich list. However, pals close to the star reportedly believe that her ambition to make it on there one day will drive a lot of her upcoming decisions. According to The Sun, Stacey has been raking in £57,000 every month through her various brand deals and has accumulated a wealth of almost £10 million. And while only a small portion of her wealth comes from her TV shows, she is also reportedly raking in large amounts of money elsewhere thanks to deals with Asda and Primark, as well as her successful Rehab hair care range. However, it may be a long time before fans see the star on the panel again, as a source also revealed to the publication that Stacey is keen to produce another series of her and Joe's hit reality show.
