Pensacola woman accused of using stolen identity to buy Chevrolet Silverado, deputies say

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola woman is accused of using another person's identity to buy a Chevrolet Silverado at an automobile dealership in Escambia County, Florida.
Teen arrested in Fairhope shooting
Brandi Michelle Neal, 51, is in the Escambia County Jail on several fraud charges and grand theft of a motor vehicle, has learned. She is being held without bond, jail records show.
'She would steal another's identity and try to buy that truck in that innocent person's name without their knowledge,' an Escambia County Sheriff's Office Facebook post said. 'She entered a local dealership and, using the name that's not her own, purchased a bright red Chevrolet Silverado.'
According to the ECSO post, after Neal took possession of the truck, an acquaintance of hers later had it. The next day, a private landowner requested that the abandoned truck be towed off the property.
'Ultimately, the truck was reported stolen by fraud and returned to the dealership,' ECSO's post said.
Neal then learned that her truck had been recovered and contacted deputies about having it returned to her, still under her false identity, according to ECSO.
Deputies ultimately did not return the vehicle to her, and she was taken into custody under the name Brandi Michelle Neal, as stated by the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office stated that she also goes by the name Chyna White (Chyna Whyt) on Facebook.

Billionaire David Tepper Bought More Shares of This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock That Could Join Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia in the $3 Trillion Club by 2030

Fund manager David Tepper increased his stake in Meta Platforms in the first quarter. The company's AI-related work is already producing results, but the best is yet to come. Meta Platforms could beat the market in the next five years, even as it faces some obstacles. 10 stocks we like better than Meta Platforms › The artificial intelligence (AI) market continues to grow rapidly. With many companies competing for supremacy in the field, investors have numerous options to choose from today. It's not a bad idea to look to famous names on Wall Street for investing inspiration, either. Consider David Tepper, the billionaire founder of Appaloosa Management, a hedge fund. During the first quarter, Tepper and his team decreased the fund's stake in several high-profile AI players, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Nvidia. Meanwhile, positions in Facebook's parent company, Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), increased during the period. Here's why investors looking to cash in on AI should follow Tepper's lead and purchase shares of Meta Platforms. Meta Platforms' work in AI has had an impact on its financial results. The company successfully increased engagement on its suite of social media websites and apps by utilizing AI-powered algorithms. As its massive ecosystem of 3.4 billion daily active users continues to deepen, advertisers are increasingly seeking it out to place ads in front of their target audiences. That means higher ad revenue, Meta Platforms' bread and butter. However, the company's most important work in AI may well lie elsewhere. Meta Platforms developed and released Llama, a large language model (LLM), to the world completely free of charge. This decision might seem like a head-scratcher. But Meta Platforms' founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, explained the importance of this open-source model. The company aims to attract talented AI developers to work on it, as it's free and easy to modify, and ultimately make it the leading LLM on the market. Meta Platforms is taking an almost democratic approach, one it believes will yield tangible results sooner rather than later. Llama powers Meta AI, an AI virtual assistant. As the company's work progresses, it will be able to use AI in even more ways to boost its user base and engagement. On the other side of the commerce equation, it will enable businesses to launch better-targeted, cost-efficient ads. We are still in the early innings of Meta Platforms' AI revolution, and the company isn't sparing any expense. It plans to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in AI infrastructure in the coming years. Meta Platforms' current market capitalization is $1.6 trillion. It needs to record a compound annual growth rate of 13.4% in the next five years to become a $3 trillion company. This is well above the market's long-term historical return. Further, it could encounter serious headwinds in the meantime. President Donald Trump's trade policies are spooking investors. Some fear it could lead to an economic downturn, something that would affect Meta Platforms' business. Companies tend to reduce their ad budgets when the economy tanks. So, Meta Platforms' trajectory over the next five years may not look anything like a straight line. But the company could still deliver the returns it needs to join the highly exclusive ranks of $3 trillion stocks as more of its AI work trickles down to the rest of the business. Revenue and earnings should maintain their upward trajectory, even in the face of a slowdown due to economic issues. Elsewhere, Meta Platforms will continue to ramp up new monetization opportunities. The company's massive user base presents numerous potential growth avenues. One thing it has been working on in the past few years is business messaging on WhatsApp. There will be others. Meta Platforms' revenue outside of advertising is barely meaningful compared to ad revenue, for now. But don't discount other opportunities at its disposal. Lastly, Meta Platforms shares don't look prohibitively expensive. The company's forward price-to-earnings ratio of 25.2 is above the average of 18.9 for the communication services sector, but Meta Platforms is worth the premium. There is ample upside left for the stock, and in the next five years, it could become one of those rare $3 trillion stocks. It's still a great time to invest in the company. Stay inside warning after fire in derelict building

People were told to stay inside after a fire broke out at a derelict commercial building in Burnley. Eight fire crews were called to the incident, where they used a drone unit to tackle the fire, on Holmes Street at around 14:30 BST on Saturday, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said. There are no reports of any injuries, but resident Rachel Maclean told the BBC that Aldi, next to the building, was evacuated. Expressing concern about the incident, Ms Maclean said: "There are kids in and out (of the derelict building) all the time and local homeless people do stay in there." Ms Maclean said that her family were advised to stay indoors. The cause of the fire is under investigation. In a video shared on social media, Liam Wilson, group manager for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We've worked tremendously hard over the afternoon, firstly, doing the firefighting operation but also working with partners to minimise the impact to the local community and the surrounding buildings and premises." He said they were "extremely grateful for the support of the community". A LFRS spokesperson said that, by 21:00 BST on Saturday, six fire crews and the aerial appliances remained. They said four crews remained on scene on Sunday, with Oxford Road and Holmes Street remaining closed to vehicles throughout the day. Mobile Police Cruiser crashes on Saint Stephens Road

MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) – Mobile Police are investigating a crash that involved a police cruiser early Sunday morning on Saint Stephens Road and Lafayette Road just around 4:30 a.m. At the scene, a police vehicle was damaged on the front passenger side and it had run off the roadway onto the sidewalk. It appeared that two other civilian vehicles were involved. A white pickup truck ended up in a parking lot. A small grey sedan was sitting on Saint Stephens Road with its front bumper torn off and windshield damaged. It's not clear how badly anyone was hurt. The driver of the sedan seemed very shaken up and said she was just traveling to her destination when the crash happened. Images taken by WKRG show multiple officers investigating the scene, along with a fire-rescue vehicle. Officials didn't say how the incident occurred. Mobile Police were also on the scene at Phat Tuesday Sports Bar early this morning on Saint Stevens Road. That is less than a mile away from where the Mobile Police cruiser crashed. It's not clear what, if any, connection this has to the crash. A number of police cruisers were in the parking lot of the bar and officers were talking to people nearby. We've reached out to Mobile Police for more information and are waiting to hear back. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
