Paris Hilton's parents helped her remain 'grounded'

Perth Now01-06-2025
Paris Hilton has always been a "down-to-earth girl".
The 44-year-old star has credited her parents for instilling a "strong work ethic" into her, and Paris believes she's been unaffected by her own fame and success.
Paris - who starred on the reality series 'The Simple Life' between 2003 and 2007 - told HELLO! magazine: "I feel as though I've been the same my whole life. My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me from when I was very young and that has always kept me grounded.
"I remember when the very first 'Simple Life' episode aired, my mom took me aside and told me that my life was about to change forever but that I should never stop being the same down-to-earth girl I am. I've never forgotten that."
Paris has always been very ambitious, and she doesn't have any intention of slowing down.
The reality TV star explained: "I love making entertainment. I love making products. I love being creative and making people happy. That is what I've tried to do my whole career.
"I feel lucky that I've been able to do everything and be successful at it at the same time."
Earlier this year, Paris hailed 'Stars Are Blind' as the "most iconic pop song ever made".
The blonde beauty released the hit single back in 2006 and Paris still sings the song in the shower.
She told Us Weekly: "I was actually just singing it in the shower this morning because it's the most iconic pop song ever made. My favourite song."
Paris has enjoyed success in various fields, but she's "always" thinking of new ideas.
Paris - who is married to entrepreneur Carter Reum - shared: "I have ADHD so my brain does not stop moving, and I'm always thinking of ideas.
"I'm such a night owl even if I'm trying to go to bed. So it depends. If I have to wake up at like six in the morning for work the next day, I will force myself to go to sleep at 11 or 12. But some nights I just cannot sleep and I love watching TV [even though] my husband goes to bed early."

Brittany Cartwright sheds tears on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test

Brittany Cartwright cried "at least three times" on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. The 36-year-old reality star appears on season four of Special Forces, the quasi-military training TV series, and Brittany has described competing on the show as the "hardest thing" she's ever done. During an appearance on the Detox Retox With Tom Schwartz podcast, Brittany shared: "It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. "I've been very open about heights and how that terrifies me so doing different things like that, I'm proud of myself." The reality star acknowledged that she pushed herself to her physical and emotional limits on the show. Brittany also watched old episodes, including some featuring Tom Schwartz, her former Vanderpump Rules co-star, as part of her preparations. She shared: "I was like, 'Wow, Tom actually was impressive on that show.' Except for that time that he had to carry … JoJo Siwa carried Tom. That's hilarious." Asked how she ultimately fared on Special Forces, she quipped: "Let's just say I tried!" Meanwhile, Brittany split from Jax Taylor, her husband, in 2024, and subsequently filed for a divorce. However, the TV star previously admitted that she initially thought they would reconcile. She told Us Weekly: "It has been such a roller-coaster deciding to separate. I really thought that we would be able to get back to a place where we could probably get back together. "I didn't know for sure, but I really wanted to try everything I possibly could to save my marriage and keep my family together." Despite this, Brittany suggested that the heartbreak has actually made her a stronger person. She explained: "It's just been a roller-coaster of emotions; a lot of ups [and] a lot of downs, but I also feel like I've gotten so much stronger throughout all of this. I'm really feeling confident in my decision, and I think that a lot of people are going to be able to relate to everything I'm going through." Brittany always felt that she would be with Jax "forever". She said: "I always thought we would be together forever. But again, I do feel very confident in my decision and it was not a quick decision for me."

Dolly Parton gives advice to Kelly Clarkson after Brandon Blackstock death

Dolly Parton has urged Kelly Clarkson to "remember the very best" of her time with Brandon Blackstock. The 79-year-old music icon has offered some advice to her friends Kelly and Reba McEntire following the death of Blackstock - who was Kelly's ex-husband and Reba's stepson - and touched on her own experiences with grief after her husband Carl Thomas Dean died earlier this year aged 82. She told Entertainment Tonight: "I think you just have to be grateful for the years that you've had with someone. 'And you just try to remember the very best of all that. And take their energy that they had given you then and kinda just recycle that and let that become a part of you. "Just honour their memory." Blackstock - a former music manager turned full-time rancher - died aged 48 from melanoma on 7 August. His 18-year-old son Seth Blackstock - who he had with first wife Melissa Ashworth Wells - recently took to Instagram to share his devastation at the passing of his beloved father and "best friend". He wrote on Instagram over the weekend: 'I lost my hero yesterday, words can't describe how proud of you I am on raising me and your 3 other kids. 'You were a father, a son, a brother, and most importantly my best friend. 'You'll have to watch me grow up from a Birds Eye view now but that's OK with me. There's no one else on this earth that I would want to be my dad because no one can be half the man you were to me. 'I'll see you everyday when the sun rises and falls. I can confidently say all the deer and elk took a sigh of relief when the best hunter I've ever known laid his rifle down for the last time.' He concluded: 'I love you so much and can't wait to throw a line in the water with you again. Love you dad. Be good or good at it -love your son Seth." Kelly, 43, is yet to address his death publicly. She and Blackstock were married for seven years before divorcing in 2022, and despite their split, Kelly prioritised his relationship with their two children, River Rose, 11, and Remington, nine, rearranging her schedule to allow them frequent visits during his illness. A source has now told UsWeekly about how she is dealing wit the fallout from his death from cancer: 'It has been draining, exhausting, emotional (and) devastating. '(But) her children have always come first. 'A big part of (her care for Brandon) was making her schedule available for transporting the children to visit Brandon.'
