The best and worst looks at the 2025 ESPY Awards
Simone Biles and Lindsey Vonn impressed with their standout fashion on the red carpet.
Other athletes like Russell Wilson made small fashion mistakes.
Fashion at the 2025 ESPY Awards was mostly a slam dunk.
Simone Biles, Ilona Maher, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and other athletes stunned in designer looks on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
There were a few noticeable style misses, too, from underwhelming suits to ill-fitting dresses.
Here's a look at the best and worst looks of the night.
Olympic gymnast Suni Lee shimmered in gold.
Her form-fitting dress was sleeveless, made from tan mesh, and decorated from top to bottom with gold leaf appliqués.
It hugged her body and complemented the glamour of her wavy black hairstyle. Lee completed the look with gold sandals and delicate jewelry.
Jordan Chiles, another US gymnast, wore a metallic gown that missed the mark.
Cong Tri designed her salmon-pink minidress. It was strapless and had a circle skirt that sat above her knees.
Though its shiny color worked for the Olympic gymnast, the top half of the dress awkwardly bunched at the waist. It also might have looked better without its two side cutouts.
NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looked sharp in a gray suit.
His four-piece Ferragamo ensemble included striped trousers, a double-breasted jacket, a longer overcoat, and a white button-up top.
The suit's understated pattern was classic, while its slightly oversize shape created a modern edge.
Gilgeous-Alexander also accessorized to perfection with gold earrings and a thick statement watch.
There were two pieces of Russell Wilson's outfit that should've been changed.
The NFL quarterback arrived at the awards event in black trousers, a silk top, and a blue-velvet blazer.
The latter piece would have worked great for a winter event, but looked out of place at the summer ceremony.
He also sported sunglasses on the red carpet, which hid his face and didn't add any extra flair to the outfit.
You couldn't miss Simone Biles as she sparkled her way down the red carpet
She wore a custom Athleta gown designed by Zac Posen, which was covered in sequins and sparkled in the light.
It had short sleeves, a square neckline, a form-fitting bodice, and a floor-length skirt with a short train. She wore it with silver jewelry and her hair styled in waves.
Lindsey Vonn made a daring fashion move, and it paid off.
Vonn glowed on the ESPY Awards red carpet. Her smoky makeup complemented her wind-swept hair, and her gold jewelry matched her Rolex Daytona watch.
It was the Olympic ski racer's choice of dress, though, that really stood out. The plum-colored piece was strapless with a hip-high slit that revealed her black underwear.
Ilona Maher also had a strong fashion moment in a skin-baring dress.
Her sleeveless black gown had a plunging neckline, waist cutouts, and a backless bodice.
It was sleek, strong, and accessorized simply with delicate gold jewelry. The rugby athlete also carried a black leather bag from Adidas.
Alex Morgan wore a silver gown that had potential but needed tweaks.
The soccer star walked the red carpet in a long gown with a silver, sequin-encrusted bodice and a black satin skirt.
Its strapless design and V-shaped neckline worked for Morgan, but the dress needed tailoring. Its top was scrunched at her waist, and its skirt was an awkward length.

Justin Fields participates in 7-on-7 drills at Jets practice, 2 days after dislocating toe
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields participated in 7-on-7 drills at training camp Saturday, two days after being carted from the field with a dislocated toe. Fields threw passes during quarterback positional drills and then again in a session with wide receivers, including tossing a perfectly placed deep ball to Tyler Johnson for a big gain that drew cheers from the fans in the stands. Fields didn't participate in team drills and will continue to be evaluated on a daily basis. The Jets have their first off day from practice Sunday. 'I thought he did a good job in 7-on-7s,' coach Aaron Glenn said. 'And the thing is, he has a ways to go until we get him out there and we're going to make sure we keep the process going, keep the protocol going to make sure he's ready.' Fields sent fans and social media into a frenzy Thursday when he dislocated a toe on his right foot early in practice. He was carted from the field to the facility, where he had multiple tests before the team announced the diagnosis — relieving fears that it could be an even more significant injury. Fields watched practice Friday from the sideline while wearing his helmet but had progressed enough Saturday to take part in some of the practice. Glenn didn't think Fields, expected to be the starter in his first season with the Jets, would fall behind because of the injury. 'He's going to be just fine,' the coach said. 'He missed one day. He's been in meetings, so he's going to be just fine.' Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor continues to lead the offense during team drills while Fields is sidelined. ___ AP NFL:

Damian Lillard talks time in Milwaukee, return home to Portland
Damian Lillard was always going to retire and enter the Hall of Fame as a Portland Trail Blazer, but his return to the city ended up happening much sooner than expected. After Lillard tore his Achilles in an April playoff game, and with rumors of Giannis Antetokounmpo's frustration growing, Milwaukee shocked the league by agreeing to waive and stretch Lillard, buying him out and making him a free agent. That cleared his path to a return to Portland. In recent interviews, Lillard spoke about all of it. When discussing his tenure with the Bucks, injuries were the main topic — Antetokounmpo missing Lillard's first playoffs with the team, then this year with his Achilles — with Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I think you gotta be a little bit lucky to win big. You gotta be healthy and you gotta be playing your best at the right time and I think we just had bad luck." He also talked about loving the experience of playing alongside Antetokounmpo, despite some criticism of his production and play. "But I think Giannis and I, we was the highest-scoring duo during that time. We won a [NBA] Cup. I think a lot of people for me personally was like, we want to see Dame do this and Dame do that, but I'm playing with a 30-plus point per game scorer, a guy who plays with the ball in his hands the same way I've done my whole career. He's aggressive and attacking and I still managed to score 25 points per game and seven assists over my two years pretty much. So I think it's kind of unfair how people was like Dame (isn't the same) because of the way I played in Portland. I had the ball all the time, so it just looked different. But I think for how productive I actually was I think it's been viewed unfairly." Now, Lillard is just happy to be home, as he told Anne M. Peterson of the Associated Press. "Just knowing that I'm going to be back home for all parts of my life, with my kids, playing for the Trail Blazers, driving on the same streets that I've driven on pretty much my entire adulthood, my whole family being here, my mom, my brother, my sisters, all my friends around the city of Portland," he said. "All of those things count. I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon." It did. He is going to spend this season more as an assistant coach working with young guards like Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe and Toumani Camara. He will join them in the rotation in a year. For now, he's just happy to be home.

Ben Roethlisberger, Joey Porter, and Maurkice Pouncey entering Pittsburgh Steelers' Hall of Honor
The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced three new members will be added to the team's Hall of Honor. The Steelers announced Saturday during a program at Saint Vincent College that Maurkice Pouncey, Joey Porter, and Ben Roethlisberger make up the 2025 class being added to the Hall of Honor. Pouncey, a first round pick out of the University of Florida in 2010, played 134 games for the Steelers and was picked to the Pro Bowl nine times while blocking for four 1,000 yard rushers during his decade he spent in Pittsburgh. Porter played eight seasons for the Steelers and recorded 60 sacks and 75 tackles for loss in 122 games. One of Porter's biggest seasons in Pittsburgh came in 2005 when he helped lead the Steelers defense to Super Bowl XL, the franchise's first championship in over 25 years. "It's called the Hall of Honor for a reason," said Porter. "It's an honor to be in it. To be mentioned with all the guys that played before that are in the Hall of Honor is special. Being in Pittsburgh, you know the tradition of what it means to play for the Steelers. Roethlisberger, the franchise's leading passer in all categories, was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and spent 18 seasons in Pittsburgh, leading the team to two Super Bowl titles, eight AFC North division titles, 12 postseason appearances, and five AFC Championship game appearances. Roethlisberger holds numerous Steelers' records including passing yards, completions, passing touchdowns, 300-yard passing games, and games played. The trio of former Steelers players will be formally inducted into the Hall of Honor on Sunday, December 14 and will be honored the following evening when the team takes on the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium.
