Louis Rees-Zammit joins Bristol as he returns to rugby
He signed first for the Kansas City Chiefs and then the Jacksonville Jaguars but he failed to make a breakthrough with either and has opted to return to his roots.

Rees-Zammit said on the club website: 'Bristol Bears was the obvious choice for me.
'I want to get fans out of their seats, create exciting moments and help people fall in the love with the game. I'm excited to return to rugby at a club that demands those values.'
The exciting winger formerly scored 42 tries in 77 appearances for Gloucester, while his try tally in a Wales shirt stands at 14.
Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam said: 'Louis is a world-class player and we're thrilled to welcome him back to rugby union and to the Bears this season.
'He has the drive and ambition to be one of the best back-three players in the world, and his goals align perfectly with our ambitions as a club.
'At just 24 years old, we know the athlete and competitor he is. The way we play and the way he wants to play fit seamlessly together, and we're looking forward to working with him when he joins the group tomorrow.'
Bristol begin their season against Sale Sharks in the Premiership Rugby Cup on September 13.

Report: NFLPA places attorney on leave after claims of abuse
August 15 - The NFL Players Association's legal issues don't appear to be going away anytime soon. Less than a month after Lloyd Howell Jr. stepped down as executive director, the NFLPA on Tuesday placed one of its top attorneys on paid administrative leave, ESPN reported on Thursday. According to the report, Heather McPhee, associate general counsel for the NFLPA, was put on leave after multiple union employees filed complaints with the human resources department. The complaints, according to five sources who spoke with ESPN, included allegations of failing to follow supervisors' directions, bullying coworkers and disrupting the work environment within the union. ESPN reported that the union retained an outside firm "months ago" to investigate the claims against McPhee, and that those allegations were officially outlined in a letter signed by interim executive director David White on Tuesday. McPhee, who has held her role since 2009, reportedly wrote several memos warning the NFLPA of potential legal troubles with OneTeam Partners, a $2 billion licensing company owned in part by the NFLPA and the Major League Baseball Players Association. Among McPhee's reported claims were that OneTeam board members allocated equity shares to themselves as part of a bonus plan. Unrelated allegations of wrongdoing reportedly were made by an MLBPA whistleblower against that union's head, Tony Clark. Howell was also accused of a conflict of interest as he served as a consultant for The Carlyle Group, one of a small handful of private equity firms that the NFL has approved to pursue minority ownership in franchises, as well as potential collusion with the league to stem the increasing value of quarterback contracts. ESPN's reporting last month also included a former lead outside counsel for the NFLPA, Jim Quinn, calling it "an outrageous conflict for the head of a labor union to have an interest in a third party that is aligned with the NFL." Howell ultimately resigned after ESPN reported that receipts from a November 2023 trip taken by Howell showed car service and other costs billed to the NFLPA from Tootsie's Cabaret, which promotes itself as the world's largest strip club. --Field Level Media

Hall of Famer Andre Johnson becomes latest NFL star to have his house burglarized as thieves ransack mansion
NFL legend Andre Johnson has become the latest sports star to fall victim to a burglary, with thieves running off with treasures including his Hall of Fame ring. The former wide receiver joins the likes of Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and Luka Doncic in the growing group of athletes who have been robbed in recent times. Johnson. who spent more than a decade with the Texans and was last year inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, saw his Texas home burglarized late last month. According to KPRC, police said the house was 'ransacked' after criminals broke a bedroom window. The thieves made off with jewelry, watches and football memorabilia from Johnson's Hall of Fame career. It's said the 44-year-old reported the burglary to police and is keen to pursue criminal charges against those responsible. Several big-name athletes have been burglarized while playing road games over the past year. Back in February, police charged seven alleged members of a South American crime ring after break-ins targeting the likes of Burrow, Mahomes and Kelce. Last month, New York authorities made a major breakthrough in their probe into the break-in at Burrow's home, with a pawn shop owner pleading guilty to buying and selling stolen items from athletes' properties. News that Johnson had been targeted only emerged after rapper Lil Keke put out a video on social media. 'Andre Johnson is my brother,' the rapper said on Instagram. 'That ring isn't just jewelry, it's his legacy, his grind, his family... he's the first Houston Texans Hall of Famer. 'He dedicated his life here, his career here, and also he resides here as a Houstonian. That makes it much, much more important. Man, we family. It's a family message. 'Over the weekend, someone broke into my brother's home and took some items that represent his legacy, represent his dedication, his hard work, his family. We need to recover that and get that back. This isn't like a car or a jersey hanging around. This represents his career and his family, for real.'
