Integrated AYUSH colleges to be set up in every division of UP: Adityanath

on Saturday directed officials to establish integrated AYUSH colleges in every division of the state, where all its systems -- including Ayurveda, Unani, and Homoeopathy -- are made available on a single campus. Chairing a high-level review meeting, Adityanath said the initiative would strengthen both the AYUSH medical system and the future of health-based education, an official statement said.
He said the government is working in mission mode to expand the reach of AYUSH systems and instructed that Naturopathy and Yoga Centres be made mandatory in all its institutions.
He also directed that the process of filling all sanctioned educational and medical posts in these institutions be completed in a time-bound manner.
The chief minister said health and wellness centres should be established in every district, which could be operated by the government or under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
He directed that construction of the
AYUSH University
be completed with quality and within stipulated timelines, and that all of its ongoing department projects across the state be prioritised.
Encouraging private investment in the sector, Adityanath said the infrastructure, laboratories, libraries and faculty and staff of private AYUSH colleges and hospitals should be assessed thoroughly to ensure quality.
He also emphasised promoting
Panchakarma therapy
in Ayurveda, describing it as an effective method for treating serious ailments. Given the rising popularity of AYUSH, the chief minister said, India's traditional medicine systems should be presented scientifically and established globally.
Reviewing preparations for
International Yoga Day
, he directed that the event at all divisions and, districts, municipal bodies, gram panchayats and government departments across the state.
Trained masters should be ensured in each district to provide yoga training to the general public, he added.
Adityanath further instructed officials to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with
Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers
like Dabur, Baidyanath and Patanjali to ensure regular supply of essential medicines at all AYUSH hospitals.
During the meeting, AYUSH department officials informed the chief minister that currently there are 2,127 Ayurvedic, 259 Unani and 1,598 Homeopathic medical institutions operating in the state, playing a key role in providing AYUSH services to the general public.
Adityanath directed continuous monitoring to enhance efficiency of these institutions and to provide resources as per requirement, the statement said.
He also said that AYUSH not only symbolises India's medical tradition, but also defines a holistic health approach. All efforts should be made in an united, planned and timely manner to bring Uttar Pradesh to the role of national and global leadership in the field of AYUSH.

Developed by the Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with Invest India, Ayush Nivesh Saarthi is a dedicated, investor-centric digital platform. It brings together policy frameworks, incentive structures, investment-ready projects, and real-time facilitation under one unified interface. It is designed to support both domestic and global investors, the platform is a strategic tool that strengthens India's standing as a global investment destination for traditional systems of medicine. The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal was launched on May 29 during the Ayush stakeholder/industry interaction meeting held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi. The historic move positions India as the global epicentre for traditional medicine and wellness. 'With 100 per cent FDI permitted in the Ayush sector through the automatic route, the launch of Ayush Nivesh Saarthi is a signal to the world that India is open for investment, collaboration, and innovation in holistic healthcare,' said Piyush Goyal, during the launch. 'India's Ayush ecosystem is rooted in deep tradition but is powered by modern vision. Through this portal, we are not only connecting investors with opportunities but with India's ancient legacy of wellness,' he added. The Ayush industry has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country, recording an annual growth of 17 per cent between 2014 and 2020. With rising global consumer interest in natural, preventive, and wellness-based healthcare, Ayush is at the forefront of a new wave in global health and lifestyle transformation. 'Ayush Nivesh Saarthi is more than a digital platform -- it is an enabler of transformation. It brings together the government's proactive policies, India's natural wealth of over 8,000 medicinal plant species, and a globally trusted wellness tradition,' said Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush. 'This portal will empower investors with real-time data, transparent policy guidance, and access to a vibrant, expanding market. Good news for people living in Delhi: The Delhi government is soon going to start CT scan and MRI facilities in its government hospitals. Health Minister Pankaj Singh has confirmed that the necessary process for launching these services is already day, thousands of patients visit government hospitals in Delhi for treatment. However, most of them face long delays in getting an MRI scan, which is crucial for diagnosing serious health issues. Currently, out of 36 government hospitals in the capital, only three hospitals, LNJP, GB Pant, and Indira Gandhi Hospital, offer MRI to this shortage, patients either wait for several months for their scan or pay a high price to get it done in private centres. To solve this problem, the Delhi government has decided to provide these facilities in more hospitals. MRI in 34 Hospitals, CT Scans in 12The government will now roll out MRI scan services in 34 hospitals and CT scan services in 12 hospitals. However, patients may have to pay up to Rs 2,400 for the scan. These services are likely to be provided under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which will help reduce the financial burden on comparison, private centres charge anywhere between Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000 for an MRI to Health Minister Pankaj Singh, the availability of these services will not only make the treatment process faster but also provide much-needed relief to patients.
